usernameMAMA I hear you. I live in St. Paul MN so walking outside is not an option. After the last snow storm most sidewalks aren't even plowed. But luckily we do have plenty of malls and my walking this past weekend was actually at the Mall of America. It has the benefit of the fact that we were just going there for…

I started very overweight. First tri I ate maintenance. Now in second tri I do maintenance plus 200 cals. I have gained 1.5 pounds total at 22 weeks so if anything it is too little but I can't really eat more since maintenance plus 200 cals puts me at like 2600 calories and I also exercise regularly, so I definitely am not…

I still challenge myself, both in lifting and running. The only "rule" I have is that if I feel pain, I stop, or even unusual levels of discomfort. There's no real heart rate rule any more and you're just supposed to keep your exertion level moderate rather than heavy, though that's subjective. With weightlifting the…

Pre-pregnancy: 250 lbs. 8 weeks: 248 12 weeks: 250.5 16 weeks: 249 20 weeks: 251.5 (22 weeks) Current: 253 lbs. +3 pounds My doctor doesn't really want me to gain weight but she was also a bit concerned that I was losing weight. I'm not really sure whether I'm eating enough, but I'm certainly not starving myself so I have…

Great idea! I'm Jessica and was 22 weeks pregnant this past week. I too have been sleeping a lot instead of exercising :/ Tuesday - circuit training for 40 minutes (with my personal trainer-- she really kicked my butt!) Wednesday - yoga for 17 mins (this was just in my living room) Saturday - walking (slow) 105 mins. At…

I think you can do anything that doesn't hurt? I do circuit training with a personal trainer and sometimes on my own, plus running, recumbent bike, yoga class-- just listen to your body and if something hurts modify it or slow it down.

It is very hard. I actually use the Greek Gods Athena Strawberry and Honey flavor. It is more than full fat because it's yogurt made with cream instead of milk, but it's delicious and has more than its share of fat.

I have a new symptom, I cannot ever stop being hungry. This has just been today but ALL DAY LONG I am STARVING. I'm at 20 weeks and have only gained about 2 pounds but I'm eating today WAY above my daily calorie allowance of about 2800 calories. Do you think it's okay to do this? I just want this hunger to GO AWAY.

Joining the bandwagon of nausea. Started upping my B6 in hopes of feeling better.

My doctor said I could run as long, as hard, and as far as I want to but just to listen to my body if it says I need to stop. She also said that we'll be more prone to joint injuries so make sure to warm up, use proper shoes, and stretch after. She said the same about weightlifting and other sports, basically just guard…

I bought some for my first pregnancy. I don't think they really worked but they did at least distract me from my nausea? I feel like that's how they worked-- by being distracting.

Ah, I love babywearing. Mobys are really only good for very tiny babies. I also have an ergo that I still use for my 2-year-old and love, and I have a ring sling which is slightly less comfy than the Ergo but very fast to get on and off, plus it's made of a quick drying fabric so I use it when swimming. The carriers that…

I plan to find out. Because I am too curious. That's the only reason. To know that someone else knows more about my baby than I do would drive me nuts.

Ah, my idea is that I can tell anyone who I would also want to tell if I had a m/c. For instance I told my mom because she would be the first person I would cry to if that happened. Same with a few of my internet friends.

I'm very overweight (80 lbs or so?). I bumped it up to maintenance and that gave me a ridiculous number of calories, like 2600. And then I go to the gym every day also so that's unobtainably high. Which is fine, I'll just eat less than that, but I feel very "cut loose" after more than a year of tracking each little thing…

Soooo sleepy, and nauseous around 10pm-ish. Also I do have achy boobs but not nearly as bad as with child #1, where I felt like my boobs were constantly hurting by this time.

Just found out I was pregnant yesterday. June 30!

Watching this because I am having the same problem, though my net calories are higher than 1200 by a lot. As the previous commenter said, usually I can spend 1-2 hours at the gym and get enough to stay within my calories but working three jobs and with a toddler getting to the gym every day is sometimes hard. And on days I…

We actually bought an old fashioned stove popper because popcorn popped in oil is like heaven. We use as little coconut oil as possible without the popcorn burning and salt-- that's all-- and seriously amazing. It's about 100 cal for 2 cups so don't let that oil scare you. Coconut oil is healthier in my opinion that some…

This is why I wear a pedometer all the time everywhere. I know what my average steps is and if I go way above them, then I count that excess. My average is used to count my activity level and how many calories I eat, but anything massively above average should be considered exercise, yes. Likewise on massively lazy days…

Since I started tracking my macros I don't even take a multivitamin any more. Food is awesome, it gives you everything you need!

Baby carrots! I never liked them until, well, I genuinely gave them a try, and now I find they hit my sweet tooth perfectly. I brought a cookie and a bag of baby carrots to work and I just chose the baby carrots. Just because I WANTED THEM MORE. They looked so gorgeous in their orange goodness. Also, so so easy to grab on…

Anyone have recs for a good blender? I just use it for smoothies so I don't need anything super amazing but mine is 15 years old and has trouble now.

I've never posted comparison pics before, so here goes nothing. I haven't lost so much compared to my goal and I've been at it over a year, but it's just been a case of very slow and steady. I'm 5' 8" Early summer 2012 around 285 pounds: A couple weeks ago around 255:

Ijust had a cream cheese brownie. It tasted amazing but was only two bites. I bought it like "oh hey, this is the smallst thing in the bakery, can't be so bad, right?" 200 calories. I would rather have had a gallon of blueberries. It as good but not 200 calories good.

We pop up big batches of popcorn with coconut oil and salt on the stove. My son loves them. We bag them in sandwich baggies and keep it in the cupboard instead of chips. I cannot imagine that the class would not love some home-popped popcorn.

I guess I have spent so time trying to motivate myself with "after" pictures of large weight loss that the loose skin has almost become a part of my ideal body image. Does that make sense? When I see loose skin, objectively it looks bad, but subjectively-- which is all that matters when it comes to how you feel about your…

I get why people feel the need to tell/remind those that are nervous about the gym that the other people there aren't watching you and don't care about you. I know that's true. But the fact is that as a woman you grow up being told that everyone IS watching you and you should also be watching everyone else. "Honey, cross…
