I have been absent minded about the fact that I joined this group. A friend request reminded me that I did! Thank you, Stepanie! :) My weigh in on Friday, January 16th was 180 lbs. So, down 4.7 lbs since January 2nd. By the way, if anyone sees my weight loss is at 10 lbs when looking at my profile (or if my weight loss…

Thank you for your post. Enjoyed reading your "why", as well as how you achieved your weight loss and healthy physique.

Hi Barbie..... I live in Eastern WA (but prefer to say I am from Montana).

I want to join all of you. Simply reading your posts makes me smile... you are all so friendly and motivational! I have been on this journey for several years, using MFP off and on for about 3 years (I think). I just started again on my healthy eating journey, hoping and praying this is it.... that I will gain control of…

You are amazing: overcame your food struggles, became your best, are a very motivational success story, wrote a very compelling "article" (as someone else put it) about your journey, and are simply awesome!! Thank you for sharing. I would love to see where you are now in your journey. You need to write a book about your…

You have taken a step in the right direction. Simply making the decision to attempt to eat healthier is a step in the right direction. I have been on this journey for a while, taking detours along the way. I am an emotional/stress eater, so it has been a struggle off and on. I suggest that you do what others have said, and…

Hi. Please feel free to add me. I have struggled with my weight for over 20 years. As of May 2013, I had lost about 25 lbs. As of January 4, 2014, I had gained it all back, plus one lb. For me, I know my "issue" is that I am an emotional and compulsive eater, and I consider myself to be a food addict (because when I try to…

I find that if I eat a bigger breakfast, I can have a lighter snack to get me through to lunch. My favorite is an omelet made with two eggs, ham, mushrooms, spinach, etc. Or oatmeal and half a grapefruit or another fruit tends to be a good option to keep me full until lunch. For a snack, I go for protein (almonds, walnuts,…

Welcome! This is my third time back on MFP; and I pray that the third time really is the charm for me!! :) Over the years, I have been doing research, buying several different diet books and getting a lot of research from shows like Dr. Oz, Oprah, etc., an then researching the internet. I finally decided that I am not…

HI. I have been on MFP two other times, having lost about 25 lbs. the last time. I am just beginning this journey again, this time having had done some research about my addiction to food, plus emotional eating. Please add me so that I can encourage and support you, as you can also do for me. Welcome back!!

I loved your illustration, and sense of humor. Due to the fact that I have a food addiction (for me it is very much like being an alcoholic or drug addict), I rely on God for strength to get through the temptations put out there by satan; so your post was appropriate and appreciated by those of us who do suffer temptation!

High protein: 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese mixed with 1/2 cup tuna packed in water. Some days I eat it on 1 slice of SaraLee multi-grain bread (cut in half so that I can eat it like a sandwich); plus a salad consisting of 2 cups of lettuce and spinach, plus whatever other veggies I want to include (red and/or orange peppers,…

I agree with the previous posts. You still need to live, and be able to eat at events such as this. Since Dec. 28th, I have had New Year's Eve, my wedding anniversary (with 2 celebration dinners), Easter, my husband's birthday (with 2 dinner celebrations and cake and ice cream both days), a trip back home with a few dinner…

Thank you. I have lost 23 lbs, and at the time of the post above, I had lost about 11.5 inches in my abs (which is almost 4 inches in each of the following areas: hips, waist, abs. Yes, I am very proud. The last time I was this size was around 1996 or 1997. Thank you for commenting!!!
