I experienced this same thing when I was in my second or third month of really focusing on eating healthy, and especially when I began exercising. I personally feel it was my stomach adjusting to the new eating pattern/style (I eat more protein than I used to, so I am sure that is one reason - staying fuller longer). Or,…

I get over the urge to eat by drinking a hot tea mix of caffeine free green tea and cinnamon apple tea (or an herbal tea you prefer). I now tend to look forward to the drink; and I have even craved it at times (just as though I was craving chocolate!).

Bumping to get some ideas, too. Thank you for posting the question.

Thank you!!!!!!

To "whierd": You are such a hater!!!!!!! If you are on MFP to be a jerk, I think you need to find a different venue. I have seen you post on other topics, and it seems to me that you live to make negative comments. Well, now that I think about it...... maybe you do not like yourself and that you have to make the negative…

Over the past 2 weeks, I have exercised (cardio/weights) 12 out of 14 days!!! Before that, I was doing it 1 to 2 days per week. Another victory happened today when I bought my first pair of new jeans in 4 or 5 years (for the past two years, I have been wearing the same two pairs of jeans that I bought at a used store; not…

I would assume it will be fine baked rather than fried. I am going to try this recipe in the near future.

I so agree with you on the tough love comment. I have also had some people say that it is all about self-control. Well, obviously, if I had self-control, I would not have reached the weight that I had!! People who do not have food addictions and experience emotional eating/binges, etc., just don't get it, and mostly do not…

I am a compulsive/emotional eater. I am in my own recovery (meaning I decided not to join OA), nor do I go to counseling (although I did go to counseling for a few sessions but it seemed that I was doing all of the talking and answering my own questions, so now I can just sit at home and talk to myself and respond without…

Congratulations! You are doing amazing. Keep it up. Thank you for sharing. You are an inspiration to me, an emotional eater, too.

I worked at a place where I hated the water (I have well water, so drinking city water can be nasty for me in some cities). So, I bought myself a 64 oz water jug to bring to work with me every day. Sometimes, I would simply refill three or four 20 oz water bottles at home, and put them in a large lunch bag with a large…

I have found that I drink more water now that I have my own reusable Planet Zak bottle (it holds 28 oz, and I drink at least 2, and sometimes 3 during my 8 hours at work; and then I have one I take to the gym and drink at least 1 to 2 there; and then at home at night, I try to drink another 16 to 24 oz from the time I am…

Congratulations!!! Thank you for sharing your story. I have been telling myself "slow and steady wins the race", even though every few weeks I am not so steady and gain a couple of pounds (but, that is living). My initial goal is to lose 50 lbs, going from size 14/16 to around 8 (I cannot even imagine being smaller than…

Thank you for sharing this. I have a "fear" of losing who I was (or able to be) at my max weight. I enjoy my relationship with food (albeit not healthy), and I enjoy "hiding" behind big, baggy shirts. I have been doing a lot of looking into myself and why I am more comfortable being heavier. When I consider what I will…

I agree with increasing protein, and to eat protein every time you eat. One of my favorite snacks is 1/8 cup walnuts and 12 natural almonds (sometimes I add 1/8 up pumpkin seeds). I have also noticed that when I eat the white carbs, I tend to not lose as much in the week as in the weeks when I eat the whole grain carbs.…

Great job! Yes, I can see a difference, especially in your face. Twenty-five pounds lost is better than either staying stable or gaining!! I personally think a slower change in eating habits is better than a quick change. I am an emotional eater, so changing the habits of reaching for food (esp. sweets) when I am stressed,…

I have lost 20 lbs. since December 28, although I did not change my eating habits until January 11 (having lost nothing before that. I have also lost 3 inches in each one of my three measurements (hips, waist, and abs), for a total of 9 inches in the mid-section. I just wanted to comment that in looking back at my food…

It is from Jillian Michaels, one of the trainers on "Biggest Loser". It is called "30 Day Shred". I bought mine at Target or Wal-Mart. I have seen some people say they do it from "YouTube". You can also get it from Amazon.com, and probably at a book store that sells videos.

Erojoy, thank you for starting this thread. You are an inspiration. Keep up the great work. I bought 30DS about a year ago and used it for a few days. Now that I am back on my healthy lifestyle journey, I am motivated by you to do the 30DS again, but stick to it.

Thanks for the laugh. That was funny.

Ditto, exactly what Katetw states, as well as the side note from the other poster. This made my heart jump a bit, as it really spoke to me!!

Hello. Your story sounds like you are talking about me, although I am 45. But my starting weight on Dec. 28, 2012, was 188.8, and my inches were pretty identical to yours. I too do not "look" like I weigh that much (or so I am always told). I also try to not dwell on the number on the scale, but more the inches (there are…

Higher protein and less carbs. Although plans like Adkins and South Beach are popular, I think eating more healthy protein with vegetables, plus a few carbs to get your fiber (whole wheat breads, pasta, oatmeal, fruits) works well. Limit your sugars to only what you eat in fruit or other natural foods. I do find that the…
