You know that works both ways right? You're "bragging" about doing it the 'right' way = your way. There is no difference. I don't see people 'bragging', but sharing their experiences and saying there are all types of ways to lose weight and find one that will work for you long term. The post I see aren't saying "I'm your…

Ditto. I just make sure it's within my calorie count. And if it's something I know is crazy I try to log it first to see exactly how many calories it'll be. Sometimes that works as a "hell no I don't want to exercise that much today" deterrent.

I get what the original poster said. I kept hearing about Greek yogurt but it didn't look any better to me numbers wise. And I don't like yogurt period. (tastes like sour milk to me) All the posts are making me want to try it. Thanks for this tip. Going to try this next time I make a dip or tacos.

That's perfect!

^^Agreed.

Yes. But you have to love yourself enough first to recognize when someone is offering it to you.
-
Agreed. I never count housework/cleaning.

Just choked on a froot loop laughing. Sorry, but this is the funniest thread ever. If you are one of the ones who posted with a smart*ss, yet honest response, please friend me. That is my type of humor and motivation!
-
^^ Agreed.

That "and you care why" seems kinda unfair. Opinions were asked for and the person answered with his opinion. If people are honest it's clear certain women go to pose and look cute vs. a real work out. But if it makes them happy and adds something to their gym/life experience, they shouldn't worry about what strangers…

Guys can totally wear sandals, but for gawd's sake, no socks with them!

$14.99/month. Gold's gym. Includes all classes and sauna. M-F 5am to 11pm; S-S 7am to 8pm (might be 9pm, but I think 8pm); Friend has same gym for $29.99. All depends on the specials when you sign up.

My friend just introduced me to this trick. It makes so much sense! I also try to drink a glass of water before each meal and eat slower. (vs. cramming then realizing I'm over full)

I eat "normal" food ala if I want pizza, I eat pizza. Same with wine or dessert. I'm just MUCH more aware of correct portion control, calorie counts, how much I'll have to exercise if I go nuts....ala iHop 900 calorie breakfast Saturday morning = 3 hours in the gym, yet was totally worth it. I will try to find low…

Ditto on Aurora Borealis Live overseas for a while Get married Go back to Spain (marking this one off this summer, woot!) I'm blessed to have done other things on my bucket list already.

I checked for the first 2 days ago and don't plan to check for another month or more if I can help it. I keep wanting to do it more, but I'd just be depressed if I saw no progress and it'd be super unmotivating for me.

Fair = Far lol. Too early in the morning.

Whatever you do, it's fair from "defeat"! Seriously, it's just another change. It's not like you're quitting, you're reevaluating. That's perfectly healthy and should be done at different stages. Enjoy where you are and maybe relax about it some. It may happen when you stress less about it. Or it may be your body saying…

I try to drink a glass of water first. I read once that what the average person thinks is hunger pain/ a craving, often just means he or she is thirsty. People misread the cues. So now when I crave something I drink water, 1/2 the time the craving actually does go away. The other times I indulge it and just make sure to…

Lol!! Now that's funny. And how can you report a thread that's on the message board under "chit-chat, fun, and game"? Somebody's in a bad mood and might need to go exercise that stress off... :ohwell:

Ditto! Thanks!

Hello everyone, I'm new to MFP and from the Bowie, MD area. My goal is weight loss and better toning. Just checking in...

Been there, done that. They aren't being friends, they're being selfish and disrespecting what you've already told them over and over. It's up to you to either suck it up and let them continue to disrespect you, stop hanging out with them, or tell them flat out to f*cking knock it off. If you like them and they are good…

I don't agree with giving up going out. The point is to have a life you enjoy, not deprive yourself and be miserable right? I go out with my friends on most weekends. I just started MFP so the changes I made include: 1- Being hyper aware of the number of drinks done (vs. shoting back a shot and not remember having it the…

Get the h*ll outta here! Seriously?? Wow, you are soooooooooooooooooo much nicer than I would have been. But the shock might have shut me up for a minute. I'm glad you responded to him though, what a jerk. I would absolutely still let the gym know what happened. Don't wait for "next time", because that may be too late for…

That's the only difference for me, but it can be a big one. At the gym I end up more committed because of the atmosphere and I end up working out longer. I get motivated and energized by being around others. At home it's a little harder for me to focus without getting distracted by things going on at home. But I do enjoy…

Yep...I was thinking a steak would kill those numbers! What's bad (or good) is that I can apparently have a 1/2 Outback NY strip with the blue cheese/grilled onions topping and 1/2 a baked potato with butter/sour cream and still be just a little under my numbers! That seems so crazy to me. It doesn't seem like "healthy"…

And p.s. I'm fully aware this sounds like the world's dumbest issue on a fitneess board. "I get to eat more" :ohwell:

While I will drink 3/4 water and 1/4 crystal lite (when I just can't drink plain water anymore) I see a lot of "tea, coffee, etc. counts" comments and I don't really agree with that theory too much. Ie> When you're sick and the doctor says make sure to drink a certain amount of water each day, they normally make a point to…
