I weigh the entire jar in grams and keep the jar on the scale as I scoop out what I need in small amounts until I hit the weight/serving size I need.

I took phentermine a couple of times about 10 years ago, I HATED it. I was jacked up all the time, sweaty, heart raced constantly, and felt sick the entire time on it. The appetite suppression it provided paled in comparison to the side effects, I couldn't handle it for more than two weeks at a time. As soon as I went off…

You could likely use the ice cream for that too.

I also have weekends that consist of at least one quite boozy night, but it's my thing and I make it fit into my calories. If I go over, then I clean up the diet the next day and move on. I'm still consistently losing weight and have yet to hit a plateau. Something has to give somewhere, so I try to prepare ahead of time…

I think the majority of us have fallen for a weight loss scam or two...or five...in our time. As long as you have taken a lesson from it, then it has not been a complete bust. Now you can move on to improving your health in a smart, conscious manner!

Agreed. I've often wondered this and just decided to use the 'with peel' assumption for the database calories. I'd rather overestimate, but it would be nice to know the answer to the question.

I love grapefruit! I eat it for enjoyment though, not weight loss, and it's great with vodka and salt. Makes me crave a good, old Salty Dog now.

You've already done yourself a favor by recognizing and acknowledging that you're in danger of faltering. Now is the time to make very conscious, thoughtful choices about your food, even more so that what you're probably used to. It is also a great time to substitute another behavior or activity for emotional eating. I…

If it were me, I'd drop my calories back down to a deficit, cut my sodium intake, and really focus on cardio and strength training these next two weeks. There may be other ways to acheive a little less wobble, but this is simply what I would do.

I feel ya. Two days after I started my workout plan I got sick. I wound up working out throughout the sickness, but it was just a bad cold. The more important thing to do is continue to eat sensibly and log your meals. Get back to your exercise after you feel better.

The point is to try to hang on to as much muscle as possible while losing fat simultaneously. Otherwise, a larger portion of your weight loss will come from muscle tissue.

I haven't throat-punched anyone today...yet. And I also got my size 8 jeans buttoned and zipped this weekend, while still breathing :)

I'm pretty strict on my caloric level throughout the week, but I do that in order to allow myself some drinks and/or pizza over the weekend. I "grade" myself on a weekly basis by plugging my daily logged calories into a spread sheet, then averaging out those 7 days to see where I fall. But the key is to log EVERYTHING in…

What is it, and have you weighed it?

It was a good 4 weeks for me at 1200 calories per day, with one cheat day per week before the weight loss started becoming apparent. I'm now a bit more lenient with my diet and hover around 1400-1500 daily, but I've been steadily losing and haven't hit a plateau yet. It took another 4 - 5 weeks before I lost enough for my…
