*waves* feel free to add me. I run 3 x a week and do stronglifts 5x5 as well

I feel like when I am running quicker I am using my gluteus but when I am just plodding along or getting tired I don't feel the effort in my glutes I feel it I'm my hammies and sometimes inner thigh

I would follow a program like stronglifts or starting strength. Stronglifts has a free PDF online and videos on YouTube. Also, I'd start increasing your net week on week by 50-100 cals until u reach a point where u can easy maintain your weight without too much trouble. In the course of doing that I'm sure you will lose…

Congrats on your efforts so far, u look absolutely amazing! And good luck with the bulk x

Personally I find the cal burns given on apps like runkeeper are too low compared to my HRM. Same with the readings on the cv equipment at the gym. From my HRM my vo2 max score is 59 and my RHR is 44-45 bpm. In my case I've found it has led to higher burns on the HRM. I've always trusted it and eaten back my exercise cals…

Thanks for this post. I want to start incorporating these sorts of exercises but wasn't sure where to start and now I do :-)

Diagnostic radiography. I'm hoping once i get a few years experience behind me when i've qualified i can specialise in sonography

Personally I chose Stronglifts 5x5 because it looked a lot simpler than NROLFW. If/when I fancy a change I may give NROLFW a try or follow a different program but for me I prefer the simplicity of stronglifts and am seeing good results since starting in August. Never had so many compliments off people and people asking if…

I agree, go back to school to do something fulfilling u could see yourself doing forever. That's what i have done and don't regret it. 7 months til i qualify :)

I would have always said i wasn't built to run yet here I am running a hell of a lot and getting faster and able to run further each week. I started off with C25K too and i'd say it's a good place to start. In the past i found my calves hurt when i had the speed up too high on the treadmill. Take it real slow, even if it…

Thanks, FR sent :) i'm just checking that group/forum out now as well actually. So many interesting threads to read.

Anyone?

I'll add you. I'm coming up for 365 days and have been very consistent. I'm only 1-2lbs from goal now :)
-
Hit 10st and be able to squat my weight (64kg). I'll be happy if i manage to increase my weights generally tbh
-
Haha SP, if I could add you twice I would. You're an awsome friend to have :) x

Yes i would say i have used it as motivation up to a point....as in I'll soon show him what he's missing. Or purely to take my mind of it. Or just think things over and work through the heartbreak while I'm working out. It's not why I do it....but it sure helps to fuel some workouts

No she's not soliciting. I'm also a friend and she's a good one to have on here

I'm 5'8 and wear size 10 jeans pretty comfortably although they are getting quite loose on me at the waist now. I can get into size 8 jeans and do them up etc but I don't think they are flattering as they do feel on the tight side. So I'm not quite there yet with size 8 jeans! Weight is around 143 lbs, waist 26.5", 30"…

Hi Heather, I like to run and lift weights. I had been doing my own thing in the gym with free weights and some resistance machines which I alternated with body pump classes. That was up until about August where I started the Stronglifts 5x5 programme. I only really have time to do 2 weights sessions most weeks so I…

I did cardio and weights to get back to a low weight. In Dec I started with couch to 5k so I did that 3 times per week and did weights once a week and then after a week or two of C25K when I was less sore and more used to that I did weights twice a week. I did the weights in the form of Body Pump classes and have done it…

My longest run so far is 7 miles. I'd love to get up to half marathon distance some day tho :)
-
Great post. You sound like you're in a similar position to me and I have also been asking myself the same questions.
-
Hiya, feel free to add me. The first step is always the hardest to take and once you get going you'll ease right back into it :)
-
Just added you, I don't mind anyone else adding me too. I like to give support and it's also nice to receive a helping hand in those dark times....we're all in it together :)

I've been feeling like it too on/off the last two weeks. It's gotten to me twice. Last Thurs and then last night. Except last night was different, I was eating rubbish I didn't even want and didn't feel particularly compelled to eat. I was just eating for the hell of it, so I was kinda annoyed at myself and just felt like…
