It is part of the "master cleanse" designed to clean out the bowels and detox. I personally love it and cayenne pepper is really good for breaking down mucus in the body.

Heart disease is generally caused by high cholesterol which causes atherosclerosis. Cholesterol is only found in animal byproducts and meat. If people who eat high amounts of coconut oil/milk/cream are getting heart disease, it is because of the meat that they are pairing with it, not the coconut products themselves.

I would try tofu, it has more protein than beef per equal calorie count and you can cook it a million different ways. You can prepare many meals on one day and then just heat and serve. Be sure to get the non-gmo tofu.

If you only are going to do one or the other I think yoga is by far a better choice for total body conditioning. Some of the people who only lift weights can't even touch their toes! You might try niacin supplements. I've read some really great things about them in respect to depression. I went off of my antidepressants and started taking them and have really noticed no difference. Do a google search. It probably wouldn't hurt and you can still go to the doc if it doesn't work.
