I work out first thing in the morning (at the gym by 0500). While it means getting up an hour earlier than I would have to it help[s keep me on track for a few reasons...1) I am meeting someone else there...you can't call someone at 0430 and tell them you won't be there, that would just be wrong on a lot of levels 2) If I…

WOW! That is awesome! What an inspiration!!!

It all went down hill at dinner...actually the meal was fine...I planned for that so I had a very light lunch...just a protein shake and some fruit...but after dinner...well today is also my husband's birthday. There was a very tasty chocolate cake with butter cream frosting (and who can resist butter cream)...apparently…

Uh he didn't leave you because of your weight...he left because he is an a$$hat! You needed to get rid of that dead weight anyway...good riddance to to that piece of crap. Erase him from your memory banks...you're 20, zits from your youth are easily forgotten...before long you won't even remember what he looks like.

I work out at 5am...I eat after.

Like others have said on here it is about making it a priority. I have found that working out first thing in the morning works best for me...sure I get up early (4:45am) and work out, then I set about my day. This way it is done and I can't gaff it off like I used to when I would do it after work...it was too easy to come…

I used the gum and the Quit Now app...it's been 190 days. I didn't use the gum on a regular basis. I kind of went cold turkey and right when I would get to the point where I would have said "eff it, I'm buying a pack" i had a piece of gum instead...it got me off the ledge so to speak. Honestly, they have to WANT to do…

1. You need a really good sports bra (trust me I know). Try Under Armour, Panache, CW-X ULTRA SUPPORT BRA , or Enell. 2. Check out "Run Your Butt Off!" by the editors of Runner's World...awesome program 3. Check out www.couragetostart.com 4. You don't need to be a certain size...you just need to be willing to do it "The…

I have never seen a running club that costs money to be a part of. Every running store I have ever been to has had some manner of group that meets up to run...check out the running stores in your area. Or just start your own...put up a flyer at your local Star$$...announce a meeting time and a distance...people will show…

Seriously??? Your husband is being an *kitten* hat! I am sure he is just as fabulous as he was before you guys got together (yeah, right). He made those kids so...well you get the picture. As for surgery... that is a decision that is up to you 100%. If you were to say that you wanted to do it then I would say go for…

Thanks everyone! My conclusion...I will just log my runs and chalk the weight training up to "good living" :-)
Eating those calories has helped me sustain my exercise while losing 42 lbs, and it's kept me from gnawing my own arm off in hunger.
Eating those calories back has kept me from gnawing your arm off as well...I am a stone cold b&^ch if I don't get those calories back...If you don't eat them back and you…

Holy poop Batman! Awesome job!!!

I read that book when I started running years ago. It is a wonderful book...and she is absolutely right, you aren't "jogging" you are running. My husband also told me something helpful years ago...I had run my first 5K and it took 45 min...I was bummed that it took so long and I whined to him about the time...he said "Uh…

You can do it! It has been 176 days since my last smoke. I smoked for 27 years. I used the gum to help me get past the times when I was thinking "Eff this I am going to go get a pack"...i still have those moments from time to time and when I do I break out the gum :-)

Best advice above. :-)

I wear an 11 (gasp, I know)...I love the Brooks Adrenaline GTS. They are not cute at all but they do the trick for running. They are an excellent motion control shoe

I am envious of that bench. I am about same size as you are (give or take a couple pounds) and we are the same age. We are pretty much even except for the bench, you've got me by 30lbs...admittedly I am jealous. :-) Thanks for the motivation! BTW, I too am working on that elusive unassisted pull up...

Glad to see that there are ladies out there that believe in the weights...

I have been running for years now and my vote is for the shoes....you really have to get good ones. And you need to go to a running store, not a Foot Locker type store. You need someone to look at your gait to determine what type of shoe you should wear. The wrong shoes can really cause a problem. The Runners World website…

I am right there with you...sometimes you just get a taste for something. BTW, curried goat is actually quite tasty but not readily available so you should be safe.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE carbs...and I have a very sweet tooth...sigh...

You can make them perkier with bench presses and push ups but without either gaining weight or having surgery you won't get them back. I assume since you lost weight all over you are likely proportional...I am willing to bet they look better than you think they do. Also, VS makes some nice bras...
