If there is no extreme weightloss needed then i don't see why this wouldn't be a good idea. But, eating maintenance for some people would mean being too close to going back to old bad habits. Say, someone who is not willing to follow a diet with only homemade food and is resorting to just limiting the portions of fatty…

I've been on a diet for a year and a half, and i had to make so many different changes and swapping my favorite foods for healthier versions that i eventually ended up giving up foods i've never thought i would ever give up. for everyday food i was told not to eat cheese and dairy but i'm not giving those up. I'm not…

I guess they're so used to eating healthy and eating in the right amounts that they're still not concerned about the worldwide obesity epidemic. You can either copy their eating habits and portion sizes or eat foods made from scratch at home. Here in Spain not everything is calorie-labeled, specially if it's sort of…

I make milkshakes (with any kind of milk) and truvia or any other sweeteners. Put the ingredients in the blender and there you go. i usually go for a quarter banana per person. I also make ice cream, pudding or i use it in cakes or bread. Also pancakes... Lately i have been adding them to my morning oatmeal :)

Omg! I'm so going to make thhis!!!! Looks yummy! I need to find ways to eat cauliflower :) Btw, BUMP

Ask those around you, specially those who share time with you on a daily basis. Ask if they have noticed anything weird in your eating habits, and what their opinion about how you currently look are. Ask them to be sincere. My guess is that if you truly had an eating disorder you wouldn't be noticing it, and would…

my net calories should be 1350 as well, I find this easy to stick to when I'm not exercising but when I am I feel I can't put that much food in my system and I end up with a net of approximately 850 kcals. I'm definitely trying my best to eat more, but I can't eat much dairy, high protein foods or eggs (my doctor's advice,…

I have approx. 6 pounds left to lose. i try to watch my salt intake (it's winter, and soups and wintery (?) foods are loaded with salt, even when they're homemade), and I'm trying to focus on strength training rather than cardio. If you're doing this, you might even see the scale go up because you're gaining muscle. Try to…

I'm happy with my goal weight and with my progress. But I'm not happy with the consequences of having been so fat for so long. Where the huge fat rolls were there is now a bit of saggy skin (with some fat included). I guess I'll eat maintenance for a while and I'll keep doing my exercise routine and we'll see how it goes.…

The good thing for you is that you'll be doing the cooking so you're in full control of what's going to be served. the bad thing is that you're probably going to feel frustrated by her looking down on you and your best efforts. A better idea might have been to just invite her to her favorite restaurant(even probably a…

hi and welcome!!! Congrats on the weight loss! You can lose the remaining 100lbs. It's not easy, it will be a rollercoaster of emotions and results, but YOU CAN DO IT! It needs a lot of commitment and determination but the healthy eating and exercising soon becomes second nature and part of your lifestyle and everyday…

Make sure you're taking the medication according to the prescription indications. Mine has to be taken at least half an hour before having any kind of meal, and I have to stay away from soy products and iron supplements. Make sure you read the indications! In my case I was lucky, my medication kicked in pretty fast and I…

Stretchmarks never dissappear completely. They just turn into a pearly shade of your skin tone. Try not to fall for any commercial products, as none of them work deep enough in the skin to "remove" them. I've had stretchmarks fading in 6 months and some others took longer. Just keep your skin well hydrated :) Each person…

I agree with the others, don't give up! also be careful to take a look at the medication indications, there might be foods and supplements you'll have to stay away from so that they don't interfere with the absorption. Focus on following a healthy lifestyle, because no matter how much you weigh, you have to eat healthy and…

the best things in life are free! and that's so true XD I'm grateful for MFP and most of its members as well! I discovered it recently but it has saved me so much time and so much money in ink and paper! XD doing all these calculations on paper was such a pain :P and of course the community is full of so many people who…

not exactly. i don't care about neighbours or people that see me everyday seeing me working out. But there are some people I don't get along with and who are always wanting me to fail in whatever I do, so that they feel better about themselves. They are not fit nor they look fab or anything. They could use some exercise…

I am pretty much like this but it's a matter of teaching your system and yourself when it's time to eat. I rarely have ever felt true hunger, but i got overweight because i did love food and loved high fat and sugary foods. The more junk the better. And i didn't learn when to stop because when i felt my stomach full i had…

Yes, I did have blood tests since I was very little. I used to get sick a lot because of other issues and also, we knew my mother had hypo and that I could develop it. But all lab tests came "normal", but maybe they weren't "normal" enough! Too bad I threw them all away :( I was always so tired too :( I was labeled as…

No, what she meant is that she is only allowed to send samples to the lab once per year per patient. Unless, there is a serious concern for the patient's health, of course. And according to her, I'm well and under treatment. I do have my lab results but I can't find them! I've been looking for them last weekend and I…

Sw: 62.8 kgs (138.45lbs) CW: 62.6 kgs (138.01lbs) GW: 60 kgs (132.28lbs) From Tuesday up until yesterday I was at 62.4, but my scale decided today (official weigh-in day!) was the best time to play tricks on me and decided to get stuck at 62.6...oh well.... I guess it's all due to PMS, and that would be bad news because…

Thank you for, your reply, I will talk to my doctor about this. But, they follow strict protocols and I bet she won't listen to any of this. Yep, my normal has to be quite below my current TSH, even if it's within 'normal lab range'. I talked to her about all this a few months ago but she didn't even want to recheck my…

At your heaviest weight you were still gorgeous and had a nice hourglass figure! Awesome progress! Really, congratulations!!! I weigh less than you (I'm probably shorter too) and I don't look half as well in a bikini! Congratulations for fighting so hard! You earned it girl!

Some of my NSV after losing more than 90 pounds: -i know for certain that my old clothes from high school would still fit if i still had them, since I'm even smaller than I was at 18 years of age. -all the clothes i bought for "the day i slim down" look ridiculously huge and i had to give them to charity -i love salads and…

I do this! I have a 400kcal breakfast, and a 400kcal lunch and the snacking will depend on my exercise program planned for the day. I workout at late afternoon so I NEED my fuel. When I come back home I feel more tired than hungry so my lighter dinner is more gentle on my stomach and lets me go to sleep earlier without any…

I'm doing this as well, to try not to have too low net calories (I exercise a lot). And I feel it's helping me not realise I'm on "a diet" and I can't imagine eating any differently in a future, it just is such a normal meal plan and reasonable portions that I feel it's doable in the long run. I guess I'll just have to…

I do have a free day a week. If i'm doing really well and say,I spent the whole week going religiously to the gym and not missing anything then I might even have two cheat days (never consecutive). I never binge-eat on cheat days though. The worst cheat days have always been movie-theater days. Because I usually have some…

Yours is a good question, I never know if I should weigh chicken breast fillets before grilling them or not. I usually weigh them raw, but this can result in inaccuracy when calculating the total amount of fats, proteins and calories since raw meats weigh more than cooked meats. But, if I weigh them raw I can be sure that…

I LOVE the title!!! It's awesome that you decided to start your journey back to health! Welcome to the "club" some of us have been in it for a long time but really, it IS worth it to lose all the unhealthy fat. Best of luck and determination on your journey! I bet you'll do great. A good sense of humor and positivity is so…

You're 27, right? Do a proper skin cleanse and hydration routine every day (and exfoliate accordingly) to keep it moisturized. That said, weight loss usually makes you lose fat from whenever the body feels like. I'm not looking older but I am losing more fat from my face than I would like. I wonder how much fat is left on…

I always look bigger in pictures than i look in the mirror! And it's so discouraging :( Still, aim for health. It won't matter what you see in the mirrors or in pictures when you are in a healthy weight and in a healthy fat percentage. It really won't, why? Because our self-image and the way others see us it's always going…
