  • ^^This - Trainer told me the same thing and to be sure to eat (protein shake will do) within an hour of exercise. He also said only do 20-25 minutes of cardio if you do it on the same day. If you alternate days with strength training and cardio, do 30-35 minutes of cardio. (this does not apply to highly fit athletes....)
  • I agree with the other posters who moved to stenght training and short cardio (20 min) sessions. After feeling like you did, I have moved to this and feel much better and stronger.
  • Recently discovered the Quorn brand....its good. Their products use mycoprotein (as in various mushrooms). No Soy.
  • I saw that same article and it made me think about it too. It seems to me it depends on your current weight and goals. If you are at your ideal weight I agree with JenaeSmith, don't sweat it. If you are trying to lose weight and eating back your calories, you may want to pay a little more attention so that you are not…
  • Agree with many other posters here. My job used to be like that as well which makes it a thousand times harder to work out. I had to force myself to do it and some days I would wimp out. Schedule at least 10 minutes - mentally that will seem like an easy enough goal. Its true that once you get going, you will feel better…
  • Agreed...they aren't the greatest, but I have learned to sacrifice! Actually, I try not to eat processed breads but its hard.
  • Not to worry dear, Chia pets are non-gmo, gluten free, totally vegan.... and they taste GREAT! But wait, don't feed them to your dog/pig/(insert animal here), that would make him a cannible.
  • I say try a fast day. I do them once in a while, but I have to be in the right frame of mind or I won't succeed. When I do this, I use a supplement powder that you mix with water several times throughout the day to provide your body with nutrients. P.S. Its easier for me to do than dropping calories too much for extended…
  • ***waves hand***.....these aren't the droids you're looking for
  • OMg, I just spit on my computer screen from laughing so hard.
  • Definitely do the exercise and like darrensurrey stated, try to eat nutritiously. I forgot to mention as well that I had increased my water intake from one cup a day to 7-8. Leslisa is right, dehydration will affect you too and you may not realize it. Belive me, I know it's hard at first and being tired you have no desire…
  • Most people think drinking just club soda is disgusting, how weird is that!! And you know, if I drink my Crown with club soda I don't get as dehydrated as when I drink it with Coke.....
  • I think you have something here. Now that I think about it, I think its easier for me as well the healther I eat.
  • I have trouble with water too and have to force myself to partake. I keep a 16 ounce water bottle and refill it throughout the day. Adding lemon/lime helps me to be able to sip on it, otherwise I gulp it down in big doses. I too found that it has become easier the more I do it. Oh, another thing that I love is club soda…
  • I too am at the point (just within the past couple of days) to where I think I need to cut back on exercise. After reading this post I probably will, even though I don't like the thought of it since I'm just getting to the point of it becoming habit. I don't exercise excessively. Started eating better last March - cut out…
  • I experienced this too (my job was quite stressful though). After recently starting an exercise regimen and back on multivitamins it seems to help. The multivitamins are those packets that contain a combination of things like omega oils and vitamin C along with the multi.
  • I factor it in to my calories as well, but its hard to have just one glass. I try to exercise more to make up for it too! I tried the SkinnyGirl wine the other day and its not bad. I like red and white but for SkinnyGirl I preferred the white. (100 calories per 5oz)
  • I find it hard to get enough protein as well, especially if you are trying to lose weight and are watching calories. I use protein bars like Clif bars, Isagenix bars, NuGo Free Dark Chocolate Crunch bars, and Isagenix protein shakes which are actually really good. Most of the these are gluten free, non-gmo. There is a site…
  • Like other posters have mentioned, it depends on your goals. If calories are you only concern, then choose the option that is lower. FlatOut makes some low cal flat bread wraps. If a more healthy option is what you are looking for, then check out Ezekial brand bread. It's contents are more natural and healthy (I don't…
  • Interesting question. I have been hearing that as well, where some say that simple carbohydrates "don't really count as much" since your body burns them quickly. To me, it seems a calorie is a calorie, and your body has to expend effort to burn it either way. I'd love to have some sort of explanation that makes sense on…
  • Just want to recommend the previous post from SleepyTexan about BMR/TDEE and MFP Goals: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/586298-if-you-are-scared-to-increase-calories?page=9 This is good starting point in terms of utilizing BMR/TDEE for folks just starting out or who are not consistent with excercise yet.
  • Hey Guys/Gals- I found the below article on LiveStrong.com (note references at the bottom of the article as well). Have no idea how accurate it is, but it is the closest helpful thing I have found regarding this issue. One thing that it does not take into consideration is the amount of weight you are lifting, but you might…

  • Using this advice: 1) Run the Military Body Fat calculator 2) Run the goal weight calculator using the BF% from above 3) Run the BMR Calculator and eat at the proper TDEE for your GOAL weight and activity level. 4) Lift something heavy 3 days a week and walk five days a week. Would it be acceptible to use your sedentary…
  • Agreed - both very good articles, thank you for posting!
  • I'm gonna give this a try after not seeing much of a result on the 1200/day plan. I recently quit eating meat and have to be careful to get enough protein. Lost a couple of pounds and I feel tired a lot, so probably need to eat more. (Been sluggish enough to not feel like exercising......boooo). Like Watters87, I now lose…
  • Found this and am going to give it a try....
