I have shaved every second day for pretty much, let me do the math, 29 years. But, the other day, I started pricing out laser hair removal for my pits. I mean, it's not like I'm going to change my mind and want a rug there. And, I'm getting tired of all the maintenance. Anyway, I hear you. Less time shaving is more time to…

Great idea. I think I'll do something like this but in a spreadsheet. I'm a nerd that way. What I need to track is how I'm doing WEEKLY. If I go over one day big time and then under a little over several days, I just assume that it works out. But, I probably should look more closely at those numbers. Thanks!

I am stupid busy. And, I'm a snacker. And, I have blood sugar/cravings issues. Here are some of my tips: * Roast a big pan of boneless, skinless chicken breasts on Sunday. (Just a little spray of cooking oil and some spices and herbs will do.) Use the left-overs for days worth of healthy eating: chicken sandwiches, chicken…

Whoo Hoo!!! Good for you!

If I have them in the house, I'll eat them. And they taste SO good frozen. ARGH! This is why I only bake cookies once a year - at Christmas time for "Santa". Here's my advice: Enjoy them and go for a run. While you're in the kitchen cooking, cook up some super healthy food (maybe a big pot of soup) and eat really really…

Abs are my problem spot too. I'm not where I want to be yet. But, I can tell you that I saw the biggest improvement with Pilates. Yoga also seems to tighten my abs. But, really, Pilates has been the biggest help for me - especially for those tricky lower abs. (BTW: I'm totally thinking of trying the 30 day shred after…

Congratulations! You look awesome!

In case no one has answered you yet: Non-Scale Victory. :OD That term was a mystery to me too until recently.

Just saw this. It's a great question. How about bringing some really healthy snacks and putting them on her desk? Maybe some carrot sticks and low fat hummus in the afternoon? As far as what she brings you, I'd give it away (although that'sno favour to the person you give it to). Or, if you're strong enough, just let it…

"You're going to fade away on us." No. I promise you that I will NOT fade away. I am a substantial person with lots of things to say and do. I am not FADING; I am growing (on the inside - and a little bit on the outside with some muscles) .

LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing. It reminds me of one my favourite quotes: "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right." Henry Ford

Awesome transformation! Congratulations!

Good for you!!! My favourite part of your story is hearing that you like to go outside and play with your kid. I used to be the ONLY Mom on the monkey bars. I think it's awesome any time a parent is fit and motivated and fun enough to actually play with the kid(s). :O)

I do Subway every Tuesday night. It's the only way I can feed my kid and I dinner and get us to guitar lessons on time without ruining my diet. My all-time every-week week favourite: * 6" Honey Oat * Turkey and Ham * Toasted with white cheese * Lettuce, tomato, onions, green pepper, olives. * Honey Mustard dressing (it's…

I can't handle oatmeal without a sweetener either. And, I have sugar issues. So, I just avoid it. Instead, I have some high fibre bread with peanut butter (some protein helps with the blood sugar) and some fresh (sweet!) fruit. Strawberries are my favourite. Good luck! You can do it!

Me too! Did you know that playing guitar is listed in our Cardio Exercise for MFP?! I love it when I get in a groove, work out some angst, and get to claim some calories for it too! :)

Sounds like you have a great plan! I have an amazing bf who loves to travel. A good problem to have, right? But, I've been challenged not to let all these amazing trips make me tubby. But, when I'm in NYC, you bet your boots, I'm having a hot dog and a pretzel. And, when I'm on the cruise ship, I am definitely partaking in…

I was a size 5 and thought I was fat. Sigh! NOTE: To anyone avoiding their reunion. I organized my 20 year high school reunion. I wasn't the most popular kid in school. Heck, I wasn't popular at all. I was on the phone for months reaching people to invite them. Some people were excited right off the bat. They were the…

Find out everything you can about the off-shore excursions. There are usually tonnes of choices that include exercise, e.g. walking tours, kayaking, snorkling. Try to fit those in. You'll have fun and you'll burn some calories too. Don't forget that you can go dancing in the ship clubs at night! You'll have fun and…

Don't be so hard on yourself. I like the phrase "This is a marathon, not a sprint". But, I don't know - that might be an intimidating phrase. :O) Anyway, just know that this is a life-long process and not some "do it now, do it right, or be forever fat" kind of scenario.

Yes. I've felt like that. I felt that *all* the time at first and then it slowed down. Honestly, I struggled more with how people perceived me and also feeling a little weak and insubstantial when I got quite thin. Does that make any sense? Anyway, I think it's VERY normal to feel a little panicky about any break in the…

I just added www.skinnytaste.com to my favourites. Thanks for that tip and thanks for the awesome topic idea!

I like something hot and I need some protein. I also have a bit of a sweet tooth. My favourite breaky is 2 slices ww (or other low cal) raisin bread, a swipe of peanut butter, and a bunch of sliced strawberries on the side. It comes in at about 250 calories, but I feel so satisfied. I really look forward to breaky now.

Something hot really works for me. I am in the habit of setting the kettle to boil as I make dinner. I make a big pot of green tea and sip on it all night. It keeps me from feeling the need to nosh. If I REALLY am hungry, here's some things I like to have at night: * Nuke some skim milk, add vanilla and/or a bit of…
