This has been my reality too. But, I recently noticed that I was exceeding my sugars even when within my calories. I've been focussed on reducing my sugars and the hunger is WAY better. Although my previous breakfast was really healthy in some ways, when I replaced my whole grain english muffin, pb, and fruit with 2…

SPA DAY!!!! :O)

Try not to put too much pressure on yourself. And, it sounds backward, but it might help to not make any specific goals. Just try to be healthier every single day. If you find yourself binging, focus on stopping where you are. Don't ever say "I've failed; screw it". NEVER GIVE UP. But, start making smaller goals. About 20…

I keep hearing about this, but haven't read up on it yet or given it a try. I do know that when I was a music major and voice performance was a BIG deal, our choir director recommended hot water with fresh lemon juice and honey any time our throats were sore. It's a miracle drink! The hot water opens the pores, the lemon…

WOW! That is a great article! Thanks so much for sharing.

Great question. My favourite go-to's: * Learn how to make soup. It's SO easy and cheap once you get it. You'll never waste limp veggies again. * Chick peas. I love them fried with a little garlic and olive oil. * If you can afford to get one (or ask for it for a present) get a crock pot. It will open up a world of…

Good stuff Mandywe!! I was just thinking today that I need some visual reminders to keep me on track. I made a little poster-thingy years ago all about being healthy and that I deserve to be fit etc. I'm going to pull that out and pin it to the fridge. :O)

Good for you! It's amazing how small bits of discipline can add up over time. Good for you! And good for you for realizing the moment. :O)

WOW! That's an incredible result for just 30 days effort. You must have put in a lot of effort!!! Good for you; looking great!

I've NEVER thought of this. I'm going to start offerring veggies back. Good idea!

WOW! That's awesome. You're getting a degree AND a hot bod. Not so many people can say that! :O)

I did it twice last year. It was for a special ocassion and it totally worked. But, it is absolutely temporary. It lasted longer than I thought, though. I retained the inches lost for almost a week. And, then when I had the second treatment, I lost even more inches. The biggest difference for me, though, was that it…

When I was a teen-ager I worked at a truck stop. An old guy used to come in several times a week for his grilled cheese sandwich with pickles - bread and butter pickles INSIDE the grilled cheese. I thought it was disgusting until I tried it one day. Delish! I haven't thought of that in years. :O)

Great job! I love that you're not waiting until you're goal weight to rock a strapless dress. You look fantabulous!

Thanks for this post! It's often really hard to see yourself and seeing others who weigh about the same can really help put things into perspective. I'm 143 right now. I much prefer to be 135. But, I'm still taking off the Christmas and vacation and overtime weight. (I'm in maintenance mode and have spent the last six…

Things like that are WAY more important than the scale. Good for you! Get ready for more! :O)

You look FANTASTIC. Well done!

What a change! You look so much better. I bet you feel wonderful. Congratulations!

Wow! I try to donate *after* I've worked out. That way it doesn't matter so much if I have to skip the next day. Another option is walk to and from the donation site. All around, it's a good thing to do. (And, ya, they have to change the totally archaic laws about homosexuals and blood donation in Canada. It's insulting. I…

That's a great idea. Another good one is to ask the server what's healthy on the menu. Oftentimes, they're eating there all the time and watching their weight as well. So, they can give you some good tips. I've even gotten something "off the menu" that was delicious and healthy. (E.g. baked chicken breast, steamed veggies,…

I'd say you can maintain right here, beautiful!

I did NOT have a free (and very tempting) cookie at the parent teacher conference tonight.

A few years ago, I spent four months on crutches with a broken foot. Aside from the fact that using crutches seemed like a decent exercise (arms and back), I loved swimming. I even got a water-proof cast. Take care!

You are inspiring as always. I needed to hear this this week. I've had a weird one that included feeling on top of the world when I fit into a size 4 shirt and feeling like a whale when a friend's scale had me at 12 pounds higher than I thought I was (which was already a number I didn't like). And, ironically, I'm off to…

Great post! It's wonderful to see you two tackle the issue together and support and succeed. Awesome! I also love that you're not totally focussed on the scale - measurements, blood work, how well you sleep, how long you can walk around a city, etc. etc. These are all fantabulous reasons to get, and stay, healthy. GOOD FOR…

Wow! What an amazing difference! And, yes, you are definitely glowing. Good for you!

I'm totally trying this. Thanks!

A little bit of olive oil in a frying pan. Add a can of rinsed chickpeas and stir. Add in garlic, roasted red peppers (slivered), sundried tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, whatever floats your boat. I like to keep it going in the pan until it's starting to carmelize a little. Have it on whole wheat pasta or brown rice or just…

Personally, I'd love some chocolate covered strawberries. What what I want most and what I've asked for is an evening with no plans. The Saturday after Valentines I'm making him a great home-cooked meal - because I love cooking and I want us to spend some time together.

Go for a walk, take a bath, go get a pedicure. Do what you need to treat yourself AND get away from food. You're probably not ready to think this way, but when you are, motivate yourself with how hot you'll look for your next date. (Again, when you are ready, which you are clearly not.) For now, focus on nurturing yourself…
