Thanks for sharing. That was awesome. Good for you!

That's amazing! Good for you!

That's a phenomenal NSV! The world is now your oyster! Congratulations!! (Being able to shop anywhere was one of my main motivators for losing weight. I understand!)

It's a symbol of the love and comittment. Both are still there. And, most likely, because of your comittment to health, you'll be there for a lot longer too. I'm sure your wife would much rather have you without the original ring than the alternative. Take care! :o)

WOW! Congratulations! You look awesome!

This! And breathe. :O)

If each of us reported every snarky post and if the forum monitors took it seriously, we might fight the good fight and WIN! :) (And by snarky I mean purposefully hurtful, shallow, argumentative and rude. We know the difference between that and a sensitive disagreement.)

Great work!

You're doing awesome!!! And I bet you have way more energy for that cute monkey in all your pics! :O)

You guys are AWESOME! Thanks for sharing your story!

I actually find it easier this time of year - ironically. It's when I'm OK to put a huge pot of soup or home-made chili on the stove. I can eat really healthly this way. Or be happy with some baked squash for dinner. It's the summer with bbq's and camping and smores and coolers and potato chips that does me in. I guess we…

You're beautiful in both pics. But, I'm inspired! Thanks for that! :O)

Love, love, love this story. It made my day!! I think we REALLY need to rethink how our culture over-protection has undermined community. I want us to re-build this sort tradition.

LOVE your story Hoss! Thanks for sharing. I wasn't allowed to celebrate Halloween as a child. As a consequence, I'm "in like Flynn" every year as an adult. My two favourite memories (so far). 1. Being 8 months pregnant and HUGE with son. (My doc. kept checking for twins.) I wore black tights and a black tunic. I cut out a…

I am, sometimes, the Canadian Hulk. LOL! Well, at least of grammar etc. What's most annoying to me is when my U.S co-workers, who fail at basic sentence construction, choose to correct me on my British spelling. Then I go take my angst for a workout. LOL!

AW!!! I'm blinking back tears! (My Mom is and always has been very large. I remember being very little and watching her diet and being terrified that she wouldn't be good to hug any more. I guess I hung onto that thought subconsciously for years. One day my kid gave me a hug and I was having a rough day so I gave a good…

SUGGESTION: Figure out something you'd really like to do - with or without him. Tell him how hard these trips are being on you and that you need your time-out as well. Then, take it! :O)

I like what's been said already. To append to that, I think sometimes bingeing can stem from feeling like if it's not perfect, it's totally ruined. So, on the note of perfection, or lack thereof: I started on my health journey in 1992. I got to goal weight about six years ago and have been in maintenance mode since. If…

I am a Single-Mom and have a very dramatic and illogical ex. One of the big lessons from the divorce and afterwards is "Don't feed the beast". It's SO hard; you want to reason and to keep everything calm. NOT responding seems so childish and irresponsible. But, when you are dealing with a manipulative pot-stirrer, it's the…

I hadn't thought of this. Good idea. It protects the work environment too. See if you can plant some seeds in a way that they're sure to grow. Hmm....

Years ago, I got a phone call telling me that my husband was having an affair. It was the husband of his girlfriend. To this day, I am SO grateful for that phone call. You're in a tough place - I don't envy you. But, you saw what you saw. It's not conjencture, it's not heresay. I had my suspicions and the phone call gave…

No. It is not acceptable. No. You are not over-reacting. I'm proud of you for walking over and asking him to stop. That was very cool! If you have any inkling of being a dog-owner, may I suggest getting an intimidating-looking one that likes to run with you? :O) Regardless, carry on. Bullies never win. You already have!

I'm working on this, too. However, I'm easing into it. Anyway, things I find help: More protein, no white carbs and fewer carbs in general, good dark chocolate (high cocoa/low sugar count and just a square or two), get plenty of sleep and keep exercising. :O)

Thanks for the tip on shower curtain rings on a hanger (page 1). I took this tip and got all my scarves on a hanger. PERFECT!!! Next up? Belts. Thanks for the tip. I'm loving this solution. My belts will no longer be curled up and I won't be digging through a box (as pretty as my fabric box is) for my scarves.

When unpacking your groceries, rinse your lettuce then tear into leaves. Roll out a few sheets of paper towel and place still damp lettuce leaves on it. Roll it and put it in a plastic bag (you can turn a used bread bag inside out, shake out the crumbs, and re-use it for this). You will have crisp, unwilted lettuce for 10…

Well done! What a fantastic change!

I was thinking EXACTLY those two things. And a great smile too! And, yes, isn't it great to have "perfect strangers" become your perfect partners in support and encouragement - never mind asking all those weird questions and reporting your slightly narcisstic NSVs to. Love this site! So, glad you found what you needed to…

I have been fighting a wobbly belly for years, OK decades. I work out all the time and no matter what I did I still wasn't seeing significant firming in the lower abs. Then I put JM in the mix. I'm not totally where I want to be yet. But, I am definitely seeing progress. It's odd because when I do her workouts I don't feel…

When I first started getting healthy about 20 years ago one of my goals was to walk around the block ONCE every day. Now I hike, play floor hockey, run for an hour and a half, play soccer, etc etc. It'll happen for you. Just keep getting fitter and stronger and healthier and never give up. You will have days when you're…
