Yup! And, I've been in maintenance for about six years. Every time I gain a little weight and I start focussing on taking it off again, it takes a ittle time to ramp back into that weight loss mode. Each time I do, I recognize a moment where I'm "in the groove" and I know it's coming off.

When I first started counting calories, it was BREAD that threw me. My biggest surprise was the range of calories, fat, fibre, sugar, and carb counts in bread. I spend a LOT of time in the bread aisle reading labels. One English Muffin is NOT the same as another. And a slice of bread from one loaf to another can easily be…

I recently discovered that they have mini blizzards. They are still a treat. But, if I remember right the one I had clocked in at about 300 calories. Still a super treat. But, on a not summer night special trip to get icecream with my son and nephew, I was able to have a treat myself and still stay within my calorie…

Me too! Thanks! I'm down to the last ten pounds. I think I'm going to start referring to it as losing a bowling ball. :O)

Smirnoff Ice Light is a flat 100 and it tastes pretty much the same. :)D

Boundaries are good. Just saying! :O) (I have deleted people for drama, e.g. constant posts about the crazy ex. If it's not about being healthy; I don't want to immerse myself in it. Not here at least. It's only been twice and it's been something I've watched for a while before I took action. I never said anything; I have…

Awesome post. Thanks Shannon!!!!

I go out to a restaurants to meet people all the time. I don't always eat. I do, however, almost always order something to drink. I love tea. So, for me it's usually a pot of tea that I'll order if I'm not eating. I also used to be a waitress and I saw this all the time. It never bothered me as a waitress and I never heard…

Height: 5'2" Heaviest (@1992): >200 (I couldn't look when it was approaching 200. But I know I gained a bit more before I started losing) Lightest (@ 2005): 127 Current: 139 Goal: 135 (I have more muscle now and 127 was always too hard to maintain.)

What a transformation! Good for you!

You're looking for me then. :) I am a single Mom of a teen-ager. I work at least 40 hours a week. I also volunteer and have a big family I keep up with. I've met a great man and we've been dating for 1.5 years. We don't live together yet (I don't want to move my kid to a new school district). As if all that weren't enough,…

They're usually high in fibre too. (I didn't look up blackberries, but I eat strawberries weekly and they're great for fibre). Knowlege is (yummy) power!!!

WOW! No wonder hubby wanted to take a picture. You look naturally gorgeous!

I have been doing it for a while now. But, I bore really easily. So, I can't do it 30 days straight. (I'll work out 30 days straight - just not the same workout. No can do.) I'm on Level 3 and sometimes I do Level 3 then 2 back-to-back. I also will do "Extreme Shred and Shed". Something that works for me is to keep my…

Oh boy! I could talk all day on this subject. Just look at my username here! :O) I highly, highly, highly recommend a book called "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin (sp?). It's a fun read and you can just absorb her thoughts and experiences or do your own project. But, it's really cool to step back and take…

You're absolutely right. I'm getting there. :O)

Whatever the reason, just keep focussing on being healthy. You might want to whip out the tape measure and use that as a guide rather than the scale so much. Also, you may have been hiding a bit more before. And, I agree, time for a pretty new outfit - even if it's one you pull out from the back of the closet and you…

Realizing that going from slim to bikini body is every bit as hard (maybe even harder) than going from big to slim. That still bums me out sometimes. I thought that when I lost the weight I'd look like the cover of a Shape magazine. Yup, I was silly. BTW: Thanks for this topic. I think it's good to talk about the bummers…

I did weight watchers for a while and you always thought about your calorie intake/expenditure in the course of a week. It really worked for me. I LOVE MFP and work hard to stay within my daily allowance. But, I often keep track over the course of a week. I'm in a bit of a groove where I'm definately in the defecit most…

About an hour before I play hockey I have either some almonds or a banana with some yogurt. It really helps. Good luck! (Whatever your bonk is. wink, wink!)

I love it too - especially on a rainy Friday night after a tough work week. It just calms my mind and soothes out all those kinks. I've wondered about the calorie burn as well. But, I tend to the think of yoga and pilates and the like as a bonus. Regardless of the calorie burn, you're going to tone those muscles and that…

I'm kind of biased because I LOVE to walk. But, I would suggest starting by taking long walks. Add some hills, speed up, go further.... and take it from there. And, good for you for coming back to the game. :O)

Firstly, you look awesome in all of them. The black is my favourite because it's classy and classic and I think it suits you best. It also shows off your gorgeous shoes (never mind legs). BUT, as someone else suggested, add some colour with accessories. Maybe some big chunky turquoise jewellery, or a teal shawl, or an…

Romantic AND a morale boost. Good for you!

I love how honest and genuine you are!! I've been wondering if I should get one of these (or run home half way and have a sip of water and head back out again - but I doubt I'd head out). I had the same question. I also like to wear a heart-rate monitor. I'm afraid I'll look like the borg by the time I'm done. LOL!

Awesome! I own a size 3 skirt that I love, but I almost didn't buy it because of the stupid size. I'm not a 3. They're lying to me. And, it's not a compliment. It's kind of an insult. My self-esteem and my purchasing decisions are made of common sense; they don't hinge on telling me how small I am as if small is better.…

For sure! I call it "The Good Enoughs". But, there's also the fact that the closer you are to goal weight, the harder those pounds are to lose. So, your return on investment starts taking a nose dive. I call those the "Dog Pounds" because it takes the same amount of effort to lose one pound as it did to lose seven (when…

I have no idea who you are but I AM SO DAMN PROUD OF YOU!!!!! :)
