I have GERD and have been taking medicine for it for over a year. I tried to come off the medication slowly, but couldn't. I never knew that there was a correlation.

Ha...this is what I found on pinterest. I haven't tried the cocoa flavor...but looks so yummy!

I'll have to check out that site. I found recipes on Pinterest and the combinations are limitless.

I like oatmeal....but my new favorite way to eat it is overnight oatmeal. You combine 2/3 cup almond milk (or reg milk, soy milk), 1/2 cup greek yogurt-I use vanilla (or whatever yogurt you like) , 1/2 cup oats and a dash of cinnamon. Put in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight. In the morning I add raisins, or…

If you'd like you and anyone else can add me. I just turned 46 last month and have 2 boys. One is 20 and one is 16. I have quit a lot to lose, but so far I've lost 10lbs...pretty excited about that!

I would prefer that it didn't add my exercised calories back into my daily allowance.

I have enjoyed reading all of the posts on this subject with my coffee this morning. I am obese and not at all informed on the acronym's used. So as I read I googled TDEE, BRM, VLCD....etc. Through this whole conversation, I must say I've learned a bunch, and honestly I'm also a bit confused. But I appreciate so very much…

I guess I'm guilty of human stupidity. Yesterday I was reading all of the posts on "which HRM should I buy?". Or perhaps I just wasn't informed and looking for suggestions. For those type of things, I am happy that I have a site like this to gather opinions and suggestions. That's why I'm here after all.

That's hard when you hate a certain food group, but know that you need to be eating it. My son, hates all veggies, except for a very few in small...teeny amounts. I have learned to sneak them into my dinners though. When I make ground turkey meatballs I shred a bit of carrot into them. After seasoning them, he thinks he's…

Sometimes people just don't think before they speak. Or they're just plain rude. Either way, it sucks. One time at work a co-worker asked if I had lost some weight, and I said "yeah actually about 25lbs", to which she replied..."wow that's great...but you sure have a long way to go though." Pretty sure there was a…

It's amazing, isn't it when you start writing down all that you eat and drink. I'm glad that you are your wife are doing this together..good for you both! Feel free to add me as a friend...your wife too.

Oh my goodness..that actually brought a tear to my eye. That...right there...is so inspiring. God bless you!

I think the answer would have to be different for everyone. The basic answer is more calories in compared to calories expended. But why am I obese?? That's deeper than calories in and calories out.

Feel free to add me. I'm also building my support group!

Well...I'll be 46 in 19 days!..close enough I suppose. It's much different trying to lose weight now then when I was 20 that's for sure. But I know I can do it, just won't happen as fast as it once did.

Hi, my name is Julie. I used MFP in march for a while, but I fizzled out. This time around, I thought participating in groups would help. I have a lot to lose, but I'm trying to make small goals, so I don't get too overwhelmed. I'm mostly looking forward to being able to live a fuller life, one that's not dictated by my…
