  • My dayshifts are 200% busier than my nights. I do not look forward to them. :P These last three nights I have watched all of season 1 of Greys Anatomy and now am finishing the 17th episode of season 2... seriously. I'm just a body in the office as long as nothing goes wrong!
  • Last one then off for four... love it. Then I am on a round of days for a couple of weeks, which is boo.
  • Close, so close to time to go home and collapse into bed, yeeeeehaw! 45 minutes.
  • This thread is making me fire up Grey's... I haven't watched in several seasons, can't remember where I left off, so I'll start from the beginning!
  • Tiramisu Twist coffee with a smidge of sweetener.
  • Of course the night I would need painkillers, I only have three quarters of a crumbled up Tylenol tablet in my desk.
  • I have also had other offers. I figured if I needed/wanted more money, I could pick up something fun and that I WANT to do, at my leisure, during my days off. Over Nov-Dec, I will be going back to the restaurant I worked at before this job for their Christmas Dinner specials for Christmas shopping money. Next summer, I…
  • Haha, my boyfriend is pretty jealous, as he works a M-F still. I don't think I could go back. It would definitely have growing pains. I don't get ANY vacation until I have been here like 8 years but with the 7 day stretches, it's not so bad. And I have to work holidays frequently without extra pay but it all balances out…
  • Yeah, you are definitely a boss. I have it pretty good... I have learned not to complain, LOL. Mine are all 7-7.
  • I work 4 x 12 hour nights, then have 7 days off, then work 3 x 12 hour nights and have 3 or 4 off, then I go into a day shift rotation of the same, then back to nights. It would be better if it was straight nights... I'm really just a body in the office unless **** is going down. Daytime, I have to be nice to customers who…
  • You are a freaking beast!
  • This is a 12 hour, too. Heading for another cup of coffee now. :P
  • It's my first day back after a week off, too. It stinks. :P
  • I'm here again... three rounds this time, then back to dayside for a couple of weeks!
  • If you are "uncomfortable" looking at a body, regardless of it's age, shape or state, that is a problem that reflects YOU, not the body you are looking at.
  • Pen, paper, desk calendar and decision matrix titled "Electrical Symptoms Reported & Other Requests". Yep, I'm at work.
  • Uncle Jessie!
  • This thread makes me feel like a slacker, LOL. I have an 8 year old show-bred Miniature Australian Shepherd (18", 35lbs) that goes 25-30 minutes twice a day on a regular day. Sometimes he will have a third, hour long walk later at night when my boyfriend gets home and we are itching for some fresh air, sometimes we add…
  • This is really timely - I JUST went for my first lap swim yesterday - I weigh 260 atm. I was incredibly anxious about it, to the point where I had to go to the pool sans suit first to see what kind of people were swimming and talk to the desk clerk about how busy it would be. I hit the medium speed lane because the slow…
  • Every part of you - your personality, your body, your attitude, is just a step in your journey. I have lost and gained back, SEVERAL times, about 40lbs but it was not until I looked at 325lbs of myself in the mirror and said "you are as good and worthy as anyone else" that I actually lost 60+lbs and have maintained it for…
  • Third. I don't know what you have specifically but what you are describing is disordered eating and if your current health care professional is not equipped to handle it or even to diagnose it, technically, you should see someone else.
  • I'm sorry that someone who is supposed to care about you chose to "care" about you with this behaviour. :( Definitely not a caring behaviour.
  • I don't last long. I bike home (2.5KM), take the dog into the yard and throw the ball until he does some business, come in and cook and eat enough food to keep me asleep for 8 hours and am usually up just long enough to eat it and maybe watch half of a PVR'd prime time show and go to bed. I get off at 7, technically, I am…
  • I am TECHNICALLY done in 32 minutes but as an unspoken rule we always come in and take over 15 minutes early so I am soooo close to done and ready to go home and sleep that I can taste it!
  • We have a local place that has great Chinese (and pretty much anything else you'd ever want) that is open 24/7 and does delivery. It is really popular with the after bar crowd... I used to do the walk post bar (about a kilometer) but now they have a free cab from the tannery where all the bars are to the restaurant - it's…
  • At work?! LOL We have a late night cheeseburger problem that we have been working really hard to squash. Especially if we've been at a friends playing board games til late at night and have consumed some wine.
  • Further to that, I don't know how women survived for thousands of years without their boxes falling off from bacteria trapped there. :P It's my body, my choice - if he has an opinion, I'll hear it, but the final decision is mine.
  • I had "that moment" last night and sent an SOS text to my boyfriend who was at home (he works a late shift but not an overnight)... I requested a PB&J sandwich (major carb cravings)... he brought me a Big Mac. :P Fortunately, tonight I brought an extra sandwich with me and made sure my "breakfast" meal was big so there was…
  • Oh you are ASKING for trouble! LOL
  • I usually set myself up to get into a round of overnights by staying up PRETTY late but then getting up at a normal time and then napping for three or four hours the day I start my night shift. It's not the staying up all night that I need to program my body for, it's the daytime sleeping! Fortunately, when I've set myself…
