mmmm delicious yummy healthy filling fats. Your collection sounds fine to me. ETA: my comment assumed those things take up just a portion of your 1200, if you are eating 1200 calories of those things and only that then yes, you should worry about it.

welcome to MFP! LOVE the profile page. You look quite dashing for being 109 years old  Best of luck on your goals

I pretty much agree with what everyone said but I did have a question- is your profile pic you how you look currently? You look so TINY! Especially considering how the camera tends to make people look larger than IRL. Is it possible that your friend is concerned that you don't need to lose weight and is making a misguided…

I wish you luck, but if you don't pass consider that it may be a blessing in disguise. A lot of law graduates don't seem to enjoy lawyering all that much.

ack why did I read this! It made me cry, sounds like your dad loved you very much and you him. Very sorry for your loss. I don't think I have any good words to share just wanted you to know your comments about your dad were touching. I'm sure he was very proud of you.

Been there, done that a thousand times over. You are certainly not alone and a lot of us can relate. Besides, it was just a HALF box of doughnuts. A box of doughnuts has 12 in it, you just had a small box. Seriously though, you have made AMAZING progress. 70 pounds is no joke, you SHOULD be proud of yourself! That's…

Not sure why it matters the amount of benefit? They are for sure going to at least burn some calories. I pace while on the phone, other things that require nearly zero effort. Nothing that requires showering afterwards for me at the moment as that was making it more difficult to start doing things. I can walk a long time…

not enough! On the plus side, I burn a lot of calories with having to get up a gazillion times to pee and walking to the bathroom. (Well, maybe not a gazillion, but every little bit helps, right?) Sometimes I will add in a little extra exercise I do after I potty, like some wall push-ups. If I've already bothered to stand…

well, the good news is you just found out you're not "stuck" :) Congrats on starting the running again! Certainly health benefits there for doing that. Sadly we can't really out-exercise our overeating so "losing weight" usually isn't one of the health benefits instantly gained by running alone. Best of luck as you embark…

it's a bug some people are having with the new forums I think (the "deactivated" thing) :( at least you know it's not you!

you go girl!

brilliant advice! Trying to process everyone's advice can make this a lot more complicated and rule-bound than it needs to be. For example, the people who say "don't eat after x time" make it sound like that is a cure all, but that (like everything else) will only work for you if it happens to make it easier for you to…

that's so crazy! kind of hard to even wrap your head around. Way to go all!

I had this same problem with liquor and beer. I found practice worked wonders. It might help to identify what you don't like about them- is it the taste? The texture? All of the above? You might try working new ones to try that address or avoid the typical reasons you dislike them. I recently happened to try some zucchini,…

Haha! Yes me too!

great job! especially to the actually making progress and not just talking about it

I don't feel very "strong" doing this. Eating right is easy for me in and of itself as far as finding good foods I thoroughly enjoy that aren't too calorie dense. The weight and overeating were related to issues well beyond food, if I keep those issues in check the food will just naturally stay in check without much…

Oh thank you! You didn't sound harsh I just probably sound more worried than I am. I do travel in this way (where food/drink is unlimited in an endless amount of yummy variety, constantly present and free) probably at least about 4 weeks out of the year and then there is more "vacation" on top of that so you are absolutely…

bag of frozen veggies into some clear broth for soup and then some protein in addition or added into.
-
that is incorrect. The only exercise that you would put into MFP would be stuff beyond the level of activity you entered to start with. So if you put in "sedentary" for desk job, little exercise and then you walked 3 miles out of the ordinary for you, you'd put in those 3 miles and could eat back some portion of those…

wow you look great! can you imagine how amazing the next 40 are going to look?!? congrats and best of luck with phase 2!
-
aha! That might be the answer then. I have 5 different kinds in my pantry but all the same and the other entries I have found for similar product has been within 10 calories for the 56 grams so I didn't realize the calories could vary so widely for dry pasta. Thank you!

I don't run at all and lose weight. Though I do look forward to getting back to being able to run again I'm just too big and too long away from it so still at the walking stage. It sounds like running before helped keep you at maintenance and it sounds like running is again helping you stay at maintenance.
-
Yeah I ended up doing that but found it hard to believe there is no entry at all for just pasta? Maybe there isn't. Guess I can add one in if it matters that much to me I just thought maybe I was searching wrong. Weird!

Thanks all! I got curious and was looking at some calorie values for things I know I ate/drank last time and uh, let's just say my 3-5k estimate was likely.. conservative at best LOL!!! I'm not worried about it or stressed or anything, just excited! But it's a trip full of unlimited free drink and food of pretty much any…

so since it's been mentioned twice, is the same scale going to at least not be consistently off? I figured if it's off it'll stay by the same amount and at least be able to accurately reflect change if not accurately reflect weight. Do they vary by how much they are inaccurate by day to day?
-
yeah I thought about that but I figured if I weighed when I first got there I will go against what that particular scale says. I'm more looking for the change rather than the actual number. It'll be for more than 2 weeks last time I went completely with abandon and only gained I think like maybe 8 lbs so it wasn't that bad…
-
I had to start at .5/week and get a good solid bit of success at keeping to that (1930 calories and eating back all exercise cals) and now I am up to 1.5/week and it's honestly been quite painless. Slow going and I do still go "over", but when I went too far before my "over" days were 3-5k calories days (just like I used…

You weigh 253 lbs and you are doing all that eating on target and exercising for an entire YEAR and you haven't been able to get beyond +/- 10 that in that timeframe? I am not criticizing, but as I read these forums to gain information and I like anecdotal evidence, I have to ask what your trainer and dietician say about…
