  • Totally feel free to put mustard on your sandwich. I was startled to discover how low-cal it is. Haha. When I go to Subway, I only get mustard on my subs. :-) It's a tasty compromise. 'Sides, who can eat a dry sandwich? You'd need to wash it down with water (which you should drink with it, anyway!).

  • Congrats! I had a mini weight loss success myself this morning, but I'm still NOT quite at what I wanted to start celebrating yet. Haha. It's great how much you can lose in that first week... and surprising, especially if all week you beat yourself up that you see no change. That week can feel like a LONG time!
  • I find, for coffee lovers, it's hard to make that move over to tea! Haha. At least for me. I work in a coffee shop, so there's no restriction on the amount of coffee or tea I can have. Nevertheless, I drink tons of coffee. But I've been considering switching to tea for the health benefits... I enjoy our blueberry tea the…

  • Thanks for the input, guys! Sugar is a really, really hard thing for me to avoid. I started my first almost-no-sugar day of dieting today, and like DeeDee said, it IS an addiction... haha. I swear, my body was craving it; I could suddenly sympathize with smokers who try to quit. I've been telling my friends that the…

  • Alright, I know I'm really late, but I wouldn't mind joining along in this if no one else minds! If so, then I'm at 211.5 right now. Working to get under 210, then under 200, and then to 180! Yay, short-term goals!
  • Oooo, these sound awesome. I'm marking this topic so I can find it another time. I'ma try 'em and return with my report later in the week.
  • Congrats. :-) To know that you went through all that -- losing and regaining, losing and regaining -- and still pushing through to lose a whopping 61 lbs is nothing short of an inspiration!
  • My biggest indulgence used to be McDonald's. After a frustrating night at work, I would say, "Screw this, I'm treating myself to make up for such a crappy night!" Then I'd go and get my double quarter pounder with cheese and make sure I have McChicken sauce for dipping my fries. Then one day I just decided I would make…
  • I work at a coffee shop. So I drink coffee alllllllllllllllllll the time. Haha.

  • agarlits, I wouldn't worry about it. The difference between my brother and yourself is that after they found it in his system, it showed up in all his blood tests. You seem to have avoided anything and it looks to be nothing more of an oversight on the part of the Red Cross for you. Of course a blood test never hurts! But…
  • Congrats! I'm working to the same goal of getting under 210 right now. I'm at 212.5 today (went up half a pound!). But today I'm going to watch my food and just do some light exercises at the house (today I decided would be my grace day aka lazy day), and God willing, by the end of next week...! Haha.
  • I have a couple of goals in mind. A very short-term one as it is is to get under 210 (I was at 212 this morning), but my next goal after that is to get to 200 or under. :-) Aside from that, I also want to be able to wear the shirts that I just bought which are turning out to be too snug.
  • Great job. I'm waiting for "that" shirt, too. I bought a whole bunch of new ones at the size I typically thought I could wear before, but they've proven too small. So I'm hoping to bring those shirts into the rotation someday. :-)
  • I finally have a smoothie recipe that I like. :-) 125 ml (1/2 cup) of Astro Zero % Fat-Free Vanilla Yogurt 125 ml of Oasis Health Break with Fibre juice (pineapple, mango) 1/2 cup of strawberries (I use Europe's Best Country Strawberries) And if you're looking for maybe to add some protein or something after a workout, you…
  • It's okay. :-) It's really easy to gain weight, and it could even be the fault of exercise! Haha. Well, at least exercise could've helped. Remember: muscle weighs more than fat! So, you might have put on a few pounds from the binging (which we are alllll entitled to), but there might also be some muscle added on in there.…
  • I incidentally stumbled upon this, and coincidentally I had just taken jogging back up again today. Count me in on this. Haha. Although now I know to take it a bit slower...! :-) Instead of pushing myself that extra minute.
  • For breakfast I usually make a little sandwich wiiith... 1 whole wheat English muffin 1 slice of tomato 1 egg, yolk broken and microwaved 1 tsp of margarine on one side 1 piece of skim cheddar cheese (I use Kraft singles because they're simple to find) And that's it! Now I'm fine with the fat intake on this one, but some…
  • Wow. I've been really wavering in the last month or so on this site, not keeping up with it like I did when I first started, and my diet has been TERRIBLE lately. Like, really awful. Snacking late at night, eating out a lot, and generally not eating much during the day (and totally skipping breakfast) and I've been feeling…
  • These look awesome. Definitely tagging this.
  • Interesting. I wasn't aware that the surface underneath you affected the weight that appears on the scale. I'm going to test it in various locations of my apartment to see what weights it says.
  • Very interesting. Protein/carbs in the morning, protein/fat at night. I did not know about avoiding fruits at night! I was always told that they were the better choice to eat at night. As for nuts, I was not aware that they contained healthy fats. I think maybe I'll started purchasing them for snacking.
  • I've made this a couple times now, and it's pretty good! Very filling. I like it just the way it is. :-)
  • Congratulations! :-) I'm really envious!
  • Ah yes, it is true. Here in Canada it's on all the sheets they serve with the trays and everything. It's kind of ridiculous. I can sort of see why the guy may have been asking, if he was in particular doing calorie counting. And yes, salads at fast food restaurants are terrrrrrrrible for you. I remember my hairdresser once…
  • Wow. That's REALLY awesome of you! The dedication and hardwork that must have acquired... but I bet you feel GREAT. And you should. :-) I'm jealous. This post I think was the one little thing that I needed to convince me to go out for a jog this morning. Haha.
  • I think this is actually similar to the problem I'm having... and unfortunately I'm no expert! But if it is the same issue I'm having, I've always been told by runners that -- as someone said earlier -- intervals are the best! Like for example, I would walk from the distance of one lamp post to another, then jog, then…
  • I'm glad to say that this morning, when I stepped on the scale, it said I lost one pound. :-) So, I'm glad I got back into the June challenge since I slacked hardcore (and gained weight) during the May challenge! I plan on going for a jog later this morning.
  • Hmmm. This challenge is gonna be hard for me without any actual weights. Haha. Although I have been considering purchasing a set of dumbbells recently. At the very least, I'm keeping on top of the cardio. Going out for a light jog and some walking now! :-)
  • Okay, I totally screwed up the May challenge, so now that I'm here for the beginning of this challenge. And I'm going to do it. :-) I'm gonna go for a walk in the park later!
  • Wow, that's AWESOME. I'm totally jealous! I was doing it pretty hardcore, too, but I kinda fell out of it. But, wow, if you can do that in only a little over a month, it totally inspires me to get hardcore back into this. :-)
