Wow, you were quick getting the new stats up! Can you correct mine? My total loss so far is 11.5 lbs, with 3.5 lbs to go (the spreadsheet is showing 8.5 loss in error). Thanks!

Wow, excellent job, CowgirlKimi! Congratulations!

Very sad to see that only 17 out of 105 people who registered for the challenge have weighed in for 7/23 (week 3). I'm hoping that more of them will come back and weigh in for the final weigh in. I'm also wondering what became of our fearless leader lottieloves85. She was giving us such great daily challenges and then…

To those people who have managed to lose weight during this challenge, congratulations! Summer is a tough time to do it! It makes me sad to see how many of the people who started the challenge have given up along the way and dropped out, but I'm glad to see that so many have continued on, even when they've had a bad couple…

Update -- I was right about the sodium being the culprit. This morning I weighed 1 pound less than at weigh in yesterday. It doesn't help me for this week's weigh in, but as long as I behave, I should show a good loss at final weigh in!

I don't particularly care for the taste of it, so have only had it a few times. It's supposedly healthier, but I'd rather have the brown rice as far as flavor and texture goes..

Yes, the Kindle could be part of the problem, not just for watching tv/video before bedtime but also for the reading on the Kindle/tablets before bedtime. I've been told it should be good old paper based, non stressful reading for a half hour before going to sleep. Apparently something about the screen (the light? the way…

I've had trouble falling asleep for years. My doctor told me to shut off the computer & tv an hour before bedtime, get ready for bed, and read something (nothing scary or thought provoking) for about a half hour, then turn off the lights. Too much brain stimulation keeps us awake. I've also got a snoring husband, so I put…

No success on this challenge for me, I'm afraid. :(

Ohhhh, now that IS good news! I've loved Diana Rigg in just about everything she's ever done!

I made no phone calls this weekend, so technically I failed this challenge. However, being as this was a weekend, none of the places I need to call were open. So I'm extending this challenge for myself into day 8 (Monday). If I don't make my phone call on Monday, then I will have failed.

Adding: Sun 8th: 720 calories burned (two 2 mile walks, 50 minutes treading water) Grand total for week 1: 4648 calories burned! Challenge completed and surpassed!

What really strikes fear into my heart is making telephone calls, believe it or not. (I don't own a cell phone, if you were wondering, but do have a land line phone) I have no issues receiving phone calls and can talk on the phone easily as long as it was an incoming call. It's not just a dislike of making phone calls, it…

I managed to get in 86g protein today, so I'm very happy with that! I am and always will be a meat & poultry eater, milk drinker, cheese eater and lover of nuts and seeds, so getting enough protein has never really been an issue for me.

Ooops, forgot to note I held the hip bridge for 2 minutes as well. This definitely showed where my weaknesses are, though. I really need to concentrate on building up enough strength for the straight leg push ups.

Okay, here's my tally so far for Week 1: Mon 2nd: 610 calories burned (two 2 mile walks, 30 minute Wii My Fitness Coach core body workout) Tue 3rd: 521 calories burned (two 2 mile walks) Wed 4th: 641 calories burned (two 2 mile walks, 30 minutes of dancing as per day 3 challenge) Thur 5th: 628 calories burned (two 2 mile…

I just did these at 5:30pm -- I figured I'd better get them in BEFORE dinner, because after dinner I'd be too sluggish! I managed to hold the Plank for 2 minutes, and also held the Side Plank for two minutes on each side. Got the 20 repeats done on the Bicycle Crunches and Push Ups (had to do bent leg push ups because I…

I did my 30 minutes of dancing this evening, dancing to songs like Boogaloo Down Broadway, Hang On Sloopy and a bunch of other great oldies from the 60's & 70's. The only exception to the years was when my husband pulled up the David Bowie/Mick Jagger version of Dancin' In The Street, which is probably one of my favorite…

I did it! Today I ate a serving of my assigned fruit -- mango! (I've actually never had it before, so it was a good choice!) I also had a banana, carrots, tomato, and spinach during the day.

I successfully completed day 1 mini challenge -- I drank a total of 88 ounces of water (eleven 8 ounce glasses) and didn't have any other beverages today.

for saun5870: fresh apricots (if none available go for kiwifruit) You wanted to know what my 5 fruits and vegetables will be for tomorrow, but I figure I'll wait to tell that part until after I've been assigned a fruit!

Does your local library lend out dvds? Our library has a huge collection of exercise dvds. You might want to check them out. Otherwise there are tons of exercise videos on YouTube. I generally get up early enough that I can get a walk in outside before the heat of the day gets too bad, then do exercise indoors later, and…

I'd like to suggest a sleep challenge, like get at least 7 hours of sleep each night for the week (8 is recommended). One of the important factors in losing weight is to get enough sleep. Most people I know who have trouble with weight do not get enough sleep, as they spend hours and hours at night online. They tend to say…
