I don't like that green bean casserole that everyone always seems to rave about, candied sweet potatoes, my mother's squished up glob of soggy bread that was used to stuff the turkey, that marshmallow/mashed sweet potato casserole and dark meat from the turkey. However, I DO like the white meat from the turkey, butterflake…

Godiva Truffles. I bought them on sale, 3 "Flight" boxes (6 truffles per box) for $40, figuring I'd savor 1 truffle per day as a special treat. 3 days later, I had finished them all. Never again! Oh, and I can't have Nutella in the house, either. I just grab a spoon and start eating it straight from the jar. Bad, bad, bad.

I checked my Chobani yogurt cups, no puffy lids and no 16-12 numbers on them, so I feel pretty secure that the 10 cups I've got are all good. I've only once had a problem with their yogurt, and that was my own fault for not checking the expiration dates when I picked them out at the supermarket. Our supermarket is not the…

If you have storage space (an attic, a closet shelf, a basement, a garage) I would suggest holding on to those "too large" clothes that are your favorites. While we would all like to think our willpower is good and that we will stay at our new "thinner" weight, statistics show that most of us will go back up again. Unless…

I liked the "throwback" quote (a hat tip to Doctor 5) when the Doctor said "Brave Heart, Clara", but aside from that, wasn't too thrilled with the latest episode. I'm just wondering if Clara is going to become the star of a spin-off kid series to fill the gap left by the end of the Sarah Jane Adventures. Seeing her there…

Scotland. Definitely Scotland! Alas, not much chance of that happening, so I'm happy enough right where I am in New Jersey, USA!

If you are talking about 20 years ago, and continuing to be shown in repeats for many years after, the program would be Lamb Chop's Play Along. Shari Lewis was the host/puppeteer. The show had that oh so annoying repeating song "This is the song that never ends, it just goes on and on my friends. Some people starting…

I think what got the hips to reduce was the kind of exercise I've been doing. I take two 2 mile walks each day around our neighborhood, once in the morning and once in the evening, and I do a half hour of combined strength/cardio each day (Wii MyFitnessCoach) which includes lots of squats & plies that work the hip/buttocks…

Thanks again, everyone, for the compliments! Alas, shortly after the October photos, I cut 15 inches off and donated it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program, where the hair is used to make wigs for adult women cancer patients. The hair is currently long enough to reach my collar bone, but will grow back soon enough, I…

Jersey knits stretch a lot! LOL Actually, in the top set the top was just about stretched to it's limit on the left (it was from years earlier when I was a lot lighter) and on the right it's too big. It was the same pair of pants. In the bottom picture it was a size 2X smock top bought when I was already heavy, so on the…

5 feet, 4 inches -- age 57. (1 teen son & my hubby at home, so lots of food here, other teen son was home during the summer) Thank you all for the nice compliments!

I saw one almost exactly like that sitting out on the curb for trash pick up while I was out walking with hubby on Monday evening. I was tempted, for the briefest moment, to come back with the car and trash pick it, until my husband reminded me about the stepper we had that became a coat rack 20 years ago, and the ski…

Very cool! Good luck with it!

We always called both of my grandmothers "Grandmom". My cousin called one of his "Nan". My kids called my mother "Grandmom" and my husband's mother "Grandma". My cousin's kids called theirs "Mimi", and my sister's kids call their other one "Granny". In most cases, the parents asked the grandparent what they would prefer to…

I've also noticed that on frozen food packages, they give you the serving weight of the frozen, uncooked product as opposed to the serving weight after it's been cooked. This makes a huge difference on things like oven fries etc. For example a serving of Alexia Oven Fries (Olive Oil, Rosemary & Garlic flavor) is 85g, and…

My son picked up what appeared to be a single serve size (16 oz) of Wawa Classic Egg Nog, He figured it was a healthier alternative to sugary soda to go with his sandwich. He saw 180 calories per serving and thought that was pretty good! What he didn't notice is that one bottle is 4 servings worth! So, he chugged down 720…

Apparently that ad caused so much bad feedback back in 2009 when it was run that the company (Method) apologized and had the advertisement pulled. Alas, too late, since it went viral and is still showing up on YouTube. I'm with the people who complained, it was definitely offensive. I'm still trying to figure out if the…

That's an absolutely awesome NSV! And to use it as a lesson on peer pressure was brilliant! Congratulations on your strong willpower! You will definitely succeed on your weight loss journey if you stay strong like that!

Currently just using MFP as a food diary, mainly because it also keeps track of things like fat, protein, carbs, sodium, etc. and functions the same as a handwritten diary. I've been a yo-yo dieter all my adult life, and each time I dieted I kept a hand written food diary, as it was the only way I could accurately track my…

The person who started this challenge group is in the military service, and was apparently moved to active duty midway through the challenge, which is why things sort of went inactive. That, and as I've noticed on the other challenges I've been participating in, when people aren't doing as well as they hoped, many of them…
