how can it be all of the above when those are literally two contradictory statements

MFP's fat recommendations are on the low side anyway. You're definitely fine.

well, personally i love it as is. but!!!!!!!!!! putting it in smoothies with fruit makes it taste like you're drinking liquid cheesecake

the fact that your appetite is lowered is a good sign it's time to up your intake anyway! loss of appetite comes right before your body goes "yo time to reconfigure and start learning how to function without those extra calories"

zinc blocks iron if taken within the 2 hour window of taking the iron i want to take zinc because iron can block zinc's absorption, too, and i'm already presumably low on zinc/high on copper considering my diet.

Yeah it bothers me when people say "just eat iron rich foods" because it is both condescending and indicative of basically no knowledge of how your body deals with iron. I was eating 150% of my recommended intake of iron and I still became anemic. Also, seconded on the "don't take iron if you don't need it"…

regarding the vitamin c - i have been taking that along with the iron pills! i did a bunch of research and made sure i knew exactly how to take the iron so it would be best absorbed. my question is more about what KIND of iron people are taking. my doctor recommended feramax, but i don't want to take the syrup as it stains…

i eat sooooooo much iron, but it's all non-heme which means it's not very effective at helping me build iron stores
-
Hmm.. apparently you're not supposed to take it with caffeine as that can inhibit absorption

My mother is extremely supportive, so I am not coming from a place of complete understanding here. But regardless of her support, she often lets HER opinions outweigh my own. It's a common pathology in MOST people - most of us, if put on a spectrum that looks like this NARCISSISM |(center)| COMPLETE SELFLESSNESS would be…

that would mean there are 21g protein in 100g which is not true

oh i forgot to say that i already figured out the calories. what i'm more confused about are the other values. i'm assuming there are 2.2g protein, but then the rest of the math doesn't add up. 78g carbs? or 7.8? bc some research says 100g passionfruit should have ~23g carbs. and fat????? THE MATH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE WAHHHH

Ahh, okay. Thanks for explaining that! I keep researching HIIT and the reasons for it and I have not been getting very far in understanding exactly what it does/how it is beneficial beyond the obvious "pushing yourself" benefits. I did read a bit about long-distance running and essentially came to the same understanding as…

My goal for HIIT is... I don't know! My trainer has me doing it because, according to her, it is better for fat loss and not as likely to be catabolic as steady-state, long-distance running (which I love to do and still do once a week). I guess my goal is to lose fat as quickly as healthily possible and maintain muscle as…

It matters because I am seasonally affected! So when the weather is bad, my performance worsens. And it worsens even more if I'm expected to be outside. So it's better for me to be inside on a treadmill in a motivating environment than it is to be outside in the grey, rain, and cold!
-
I was definitely thinking of moving my HIIT to the track near my house. I can't stand being in the gym during the summer (though it is a necessity during winter because it rains the whole time here). But I do know that I'm getting a great workout on the treadmill, regardless of real ground being apparently "better",…

Ah ok I see people are doing much quicker rests than I am, so clearly I'm doing ok. I should mention I'm super short, though, so 10-11mph is something I'd have to work up to, and honestly I don't know if I could ever get there for more than 10 seconds

You need to eat everything in moderation. This type of logging would just allow you to overeat foods that are "healthy". You can gain weight eating too many avocados. You can gain weight eating too much chicken. You can gain weight eating too many mangoes. You can gain weight eating too many beans. Just because something…

Nope, not really! On the rare occasion I do go out, I get some vodka diet cokes. But in general I get too drunk too fast and I don't enjoy myself. Half a beer can make me feel seriously woozy.

I maintained eating intuitively. However, I think I may have lost some LBM as my BF% is clearly higher now than it was when I was counting. I do think intuitive eating can work for MAINTENANCE as long as your lifts are in good shape and you are making a concerted effort to keep your macros in check (for example, forcing…
