  • Sauteed peppers, spinach veggie burger, potato and mushroom mini-pies (they look bad but taste great). 500 kcal
  • I love dairy, I can't stand meat, I eat fish every now and then. Not a big fan of eggs either but I'm trying to eat some more since I'm always low on proteins and I can't find fat-free/low-fat dairy where I live.
  • Yes, not because it reduces efficacy (as already stated) but because it increases estrogen levels. It's written on my texbooks and I experienced it during my training. Doctors know it's probably an excess of caution (at least in this case, NOT when dealing with other drugs like carbamazepine) but it's common practice to do…
  • Pretty sad indeed, that's why I haven't said "STOP EATING GRAPEFRUIT OR YOU'LL DIE TOMORROW" :) There's not enough clinical data, so doctors prefer to "play it safe" and discourage patients from eating grapefruit.
  • This. It's difficult to estimate the clinical outcomes because there are large inter-individual differences in drugs metabolism and not many clinical trials have been made (check this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12749182. Just to be sure, doctors tend to discourage patients from eating grapefruit on a regular…
  • As everyone said, bananas are ok. Unless you drink 3L a day there is not much difference, skim milk and 2% are both ok. I prefer 2% for breakfast because it's slightly more filling than fat-free and I can't digest whole milk at all.
  • Admittance: I'm an addict. I drink at least 4 strong espresso in a day and I'd die without them.
  • Yeah!

  • I guess different types of cooking may make starch more absorbable and cause loss of fibers. Just a guess.
  • You lost tons of weight then you regained a lot: cutting your calories so much obviously doesn't work. You have the proof. Some people don't understand why they should eat at least 1200kcal/day, they say "hey, if I eat less I'll lose weight quicker!", then they experience failure. You have already been there, you…
  • This. Anyway I can't stand sweeteners, they all taste bitter to me.

  • Today. Farro salad with peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes and emmenthal cheese. Great for packing lunch!
  • As everyone else said, take a break. Also, try moving some calories from dinner to lunch. I know it's hard if you're not used to it, but it helps metabolism a lot.
  • Seek professional help. It doesn't mean you're nuts or a psycho, it will only help you recover quickly and avoid relapses. Wouldn't you go to the orthopedic if your knees hurt?
  • I forgot to mention one of my favourite ones, pasta alla Norma :) Prepare your basic tomato sauce then add sliced eggplants (they should be fried but sautéing will work as well) and ricotta salata (which is a dried and salted variant of cottage cheese, if you can't find it parmesan cheese will be OK too). Pumpkin pasta:…
  • Steam them with some potatoes. Then crush the potatoes, cut the beans into little pieces, add some salt, pepper, an egg and parmesan cheese, bread crumbles on top and put everything in the oven for 20-30 minutes. Tasty!
  • Udon with veggies (carrots, zucchini, eggplants, peppers, sautéed with coconut milk) (first time I post a picture... Hope the BB code will work fine) Edit: it's udon, not noodles :)
  • Veggie Sauce (about five servings, you can freeze it): Put a chopped onion, 2 chopped peppers, 100 g of white beans and a small thinly chopped potato in a pan with some olive oil (you don't need much, 1 or 2 tbsp should be enough), cook slowly for about 10 minutes then add passata and let it cook for another 15 minutes. I…
  • Don't know if it was mentioned before, but I always mix it with a couple of eggs and then cook the misture with salt and pepper. I also love cottage cheese with spinach and nutmeg. Then, if you really want to indulge yourself try cottage cheese with honey.
