As long as the person on a high protein diet doesn't already have kidney issues tho. If the diet is very high in protein (30% and higher) then you run the risk of developing ketones that your kidneys want to flush out the best way they know how - urinate. That can lead to dehydration if someone isn't keeping up the water…

I really like the Special K cereals and for a sweet treat I'll do their Chocolaty Delight brand - yum!

Here is something I had written on another board.... k so I had my Dr's appointment and of course, she made me repeat all of my bloodwork. As a vet tech, I draw blood daily on animals - no biggie. I cried for my blood draw - yes I am a raging wimp! Bloodwork came back, still as inconclusive as ever. Not surprised (or…

Howdy girls :) I'm a PCOS sufferer too. At 16 I had my appendix removed and was told I had "horrible cystic ovaries". I have all the same stupid side effects - hair, weight gain around the middle, missing periods, etc. I will say, 16 months between periods was great. Had the same box of Tampax for almost 5 years ;) Now…

I heard a trainer once tell her class "You can't get fat if you don't eat"

Sweetness!! Want to know my motivation? My ex's current gf called me a fat cow a few months ago. Since then, I saw a pic she was tagged in on facebook (you know, the ones you don't want online!). In this pic, her gut is HANGING over her jeans (I don't know why she thought tucking her skin tight shirt into her too small…

Want to know my secret? Promise not to tell? Ok, lean in close............... (whispers) I have a picture saved on my phone of my ex's current gf's gut hanging over her jeans. Ok, maybe it's not the nicest thing to keep, but jeeze, she's a fat girl too and she called me a cow! So since then when I have a bad day, I look at…

My first thought would be have you had your fasting insulin checked lately? Perhaps you've treaded into true diabetic land.

Bloodwork came back, still as inconclusive as ever. Not surprised (or impressed). She starts talking about options. I reply…

Maybe you can't take the hormones. Ever thought about the copper IUD? I had it and loved it, before I got it removed because we're TTC

Novices! I joke of course, but at my worst I've cleared a large pizza with a 1 or 2 lt or soda and a full sized bag of chips and two Sather's bags of candy for dessert. I've also spent $20 at fast food places using only the dollar menu. Once I bought a birthday cake......it wasn't anyones birthday.

Indulge - healthfully! I recently discovered meringue cookies (super easy to make! low cal!) and change the makeup based on my cravings. I can make them vanilla, chocolate, mocha, mint, etc. With me being as I am, if I restrict too much I will eventually rebel and possibly binge. So I figure out ways to make something like…

Your welcome! I have peppermint meringue cookies on my desk right now. My secret is to make them small - then you can slowly savor a TON of them :D
-
do you have egg whites? You could make chocolate meringue cookies!

No Katz, it says Feb 10th. I have heard things about Wellbutrin - girl in my office took it to stop smoking. Or, paste a naked picture of yourself on your cigarette pack

Hmmmm, I have most of it at home.....I don't have Panko crumbs tho, but I can snag them tonight and give it a try :)

That is what my first thought was - she's packing on muscle!!

Thanks for the support! I buckled down and made my Drs appointment for next Wednesday - going to talk about Metformin.

Me too, pcos sufferer. Not offically diagnosed yet. Had thyroid tests, estrogen/testerone tests, diabetic tests, internal ultrasounds, the works. During my appedectomy when I was 16 they told my mother I had "highly cystic ovaries". The thing I first learned was inconclusive test results don't mean you don't have it. I…

hmmmm no one weigh in today? FYI - this isn't a private group, I'm just saying good luck to anyone :D

I'm going to watch this thread, I'm interested in getting one too - esp with the calorie burned feature.

Neat! We've been TTC for about a year now - I have PCOS so weight loss has been an important goal on my part. My hope is with enough weight loss I will OV more regularly. Superfrustrating, not to mention $$ - tons of ov predictor tests - blah!

I totally hear you guys! My husband and I lived on takeout, frozen pizzas and other junk. Since trying to get healthier I've been cooking, but it hasn't been a complete success. I've been copying meals from sites like hungrygirl, but as a person I have no creativity! I would love to tag along on this! This week I've make…

As you can tell from the pic, I was in a hurry to try them - I was starved lol Even the husband like them, and he tends to turn his nose up at anything new.
