I have been away from the site for a while not reading the posts because I failed and continue to fail.... I had bypass in December 2013 and over the past 2 years have gained 40 lbs back, I was 20 lbs from my goal when I started gaining, so I really need to lose 60 lbs. Life happened, taking care of sick loved ones, 2…

I am in the same boat, bypass in December 2014 lost over 120 lbs and have regained about 40 back. I have tried to go back to basics of protein shake for breakfast and one for lunch with a sensible dinner. It was easier to stick to pre op. Stress has lead me to fall back into those bad eating habits. And what is so sad is…

If using biotin make sure it also has zinc or take a separate zinc pill. The other option is pre natal Vitamins, they do work for hair as well as nails.

Hello, I too have fallen off the wagon of weight loss. I had surgery in 2013 lost 109 lbs and have gained about 30-35 lbs. Old eating bad habits, depression and using food as comfort only to then hate myself for being weak. I hope that those that are starting the journey of WLS and hearing stories from those that are years…

I wish it had been stressed to me to take advantage of the time that you are loosing easily, go to the gym create as many good habits as you can. Once the honeymoon period of weight loss is over loosing becomes hard, easily frustrated and fall back into old bad habits. Be thankful for the nausea, the dumping, not wanting…

Enjoy this time and make the most of it, because it will change. After the honeymoon period the hunger pangs will come back. Not wanting to eat and forgetting to eat is a good thing. As long as you get your vitamins and protein in you are fine. Your blood work will let you know if you are missing something. Struggling to…

I am so glad to see that others have posted on this topic that it is a struggle after the honeymoon period and that you need to be very careful. I got Fat in my life because of bad habits and even with the weight loss the bad habits will come out. I have invested a lot more time and energy into making better decisions, but…

I will be 2 years out and my honeymoon period ended at 8 months, appetite came back and I basically can eat most everything. Old habits are also coming back. I long for the days when I did not think about food and was able to be satisfied with a very small amount. I am also looking for suggestions and tips. This website is…

I am a year 1/2 out lost 108 lbs, need to lose about another 20-30 lbs, but after that honeymoon period it is hard. As you stated its time to get back on track. I am there ready to get back on track. I think there should be a support group within this group for those that are post surgery and need the support to maintain…

Thank you everyone for your suggestions and support. I think I do need to go back to the beginning and drink the 2 protein shakes per day (shakes tend to be protein powder with PB2, frozen bananas or another frozen fruit and fat free Lactaid milk) and then have a very small dinner. But I need to find a good substitution…
