  • They're awesome! Wish I could draw that well.
  • Hahaha reminds me of Roy's repeated line in the IT Crowd: "Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?"
  • Friend request sent!
  • Brava! I couldn't have said it better myself.
  • I bake a lot! Cooking light and skinny taste are my go to low calorie recipe sites. Happy baking!
  • Mainly portion control and eating back exercise calories. I figured I'd stick to this plan more since I don't feel deprived. So far it's working! Been at it for 4 months and continuing to happily lose weight :drinker:
  • 28 here! Does a slightly elevated body temperature count for HOTT?
  • I'm happy to say that all the time I've spent reading the message boards here as well as online research has allowed me to share this little tidbit of information :)
  • Here's the science behind it (sorry I'm a bit of a geek)... To lose 1 pound of fat, you need to have a deficit of 3500 calories. What MFP does is divide the 3500 calories by 7 days (giving you a 500 calorie deficit per day) so you lose 1 pound a week. So, it's okay to be below or over you daily calorie goal as long as you…
  • Hi there! It's not unusual to lose a lot more on the first week of starting a new diet and/or exercise routine. As for the weight gain, it could be water retention while your muscles heal from your exercise or it could be near your TOM. I've experienced going up and down a pound or two. Do you weigh yourself at the same…
  • I'm 28, willing to share what I've learned and get some tips too!
  • I workout at home. I've found that doing exercises that I enjoy such as circuit training, elliptical trainer and Zumba help me stick to it. It also helps that my exercise equipment are in my room so they're always there to me remind to workout.
  • It's funny that I ate a McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese earlier and I came across your post. Anyway, I agree with owl92 and PayneAS. I look more into my weekly calorie total than my daily total. For instance, I pretty much allotted calories for the quarter pounder (that I've been craving for over week already) when…
  • Yes, you have to eat back those exercise calories and net at least 1200 calories/day. Many advocate eating between BMR and TDEE for a healthier weight loss. Here are some posts I found very helpful when I started out last month: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/23912-links-in-mfp-you-want-to-read-again-and-again
  • You're welcome! I've also considered the FT7 and will likely get it so I can easily change the batteries myself.
  • Do a silly dance (like footballers do when they score a goal) as soon as I step off the scale! Then go out shopping for new clothes and have a celebratory meal or two.
  • Hi! I did some quick research since I've been considering buying an FT4. Apparently, you can change the batteries yourself but you'll need to buy the sealing ring/battery kit. Here's what I found from the online user manual (http://www.polar.fi/e_manuals/FT4/Polar_FT4_user_manual_English/manual.pdf) Changing Batteries…
  • Hi! Try this: http://www.cookinglight.com/ I have their cookbook and the recipes they have are very good for low calorie diets :) Bon appetit!
  • Hi! I thought I'd share my experience with upping my calories to above my BMR to help you. Although, I'm pretty much still a newbie around here. I've been on MFP for a month now and I also started with 1200 calories/day with a goal of losing 1 pound a week. On the first two weeks, I lost 2 pounds on schedule. But on the…
  • I finished Level 1 Day 1 of 30DS nearly two hours ago. I was about ready to give up a quarter of the way through as my arm and leg muscles were already screaming. After a moment's rest, I continued with the modified exercises and was able to finish the whole workout. Hurray! Now I can feel a slight soreness on my arms,…
  • I'm in too! I was going back and forth about doing 30DS but now that I've just finished Day 1 of Level 1, I'm going to continue. This is just the group to keep me motivated in keeping with the program
