I'm normally very internet-savvy, but for some I don't understand Pinterest. I want to, though! But I guess I'm not sure how it works. I went to kbray's pinterest site and clicked on "melt in your mouth chicken" 'cause it looked yummy and I wanted the recipe. But it wasn't there. It just showed me who else had pinned it.…

Fantastic! Thanks again for all the suggestions!

Thank you so much for this entertainment this morning! It gave me quite the giggle. Welcome back to the goodness of dairy. :-)

Awesome! Thank you all!

Fantastic suggestions - thank you!

I would guess you started with too much too soon. Ease it back and let your body get accustomed to moving again.

A lot of people would have given up with all those health conditions, but you persevered. Bravo! You're quite the inspiration!

I've been doing Primal for a month now and haven't experienced the Carb Flu. However, I had a friend who does Atkins tell me to eat lots of fat and lots of protein and that will help. So I have been and hey, maybe that's why I haven't gotten it! I was very carb-heavy before - LOVED pasta and bread.

I allow myself one "cheat" meal per week right now. It keeps me from feeling like I'm missing out on the stuff I used to love - Mexican (chips & dip!); pasta, etc. However, that being said, I certainly feel like crap afterwards and generally into the next day! Yet I still do it...odd... When I first started eating…

I simply don't understand why at least weekly a thread like this needs to be posted. If you are incapacitated by your menstrual cycle, go to your doctor - that's not normal. If you're not incapacitated, suck it up and go do your daily activities. Now, if this is the OP's first menstrual cycle I will retract my statements,…

I just don't give in to the cravings or the desire to be lazy. *shrug* These threads confuse me - women have been having periods for a very long time now) and I'm pretty sure that most people don't just crawl into a hole during "that time of the month" and do nothing. They go on with their lives. You can still do whatever…

Welcome! Sounds like you're ready for a change, and you're making a great choice! I do Primal, so I still allow some dairy in my diet. I also have coffee every morning (if it's not negatively affecting you, why drop it if you if you enjoy it?). I sent you a friend request. :-)

I've also read in several places that women's bodies often take longer to adjust to the change in eating, so we don't always get that major drop of weight that the men can often get. 11 lbs in 4 weeks is outstanding! And I'm sure you feel very healthy and energized - why go back to the SAD where you feel sluggish and…

Thanks for the ideas, all!

Wouldn't juicing remove all the fiber benefits?

Ugh, been there done that. I get up at 4:20 to run (on the road by 4:30) - because I get up so early, my dinner is super early (4:30 or 5?) because I go to bed early. I find that having that empty stomach really helps prevent the ****s. Also, if I eat like crap the day before, no matter what time I stop eating, I'll have…

Will you marry me?

Um...Couch to 5K?

You could do Primal where you are still permitted to have some dairy. I use heavy whipping cream in my coffee and OH HOLY GOD is it good!

Welcome! I've only been doing Primal for a few weeks now but I have found that when I eat enough fat and protein and veggies, I'm just not hungry and I come in pretty close to my recommended calories. This is new and bizarre for me as I'm accustomed to eating constantly to keep my blood sugar from dropping and to just not…

That's outstanding!

I'm curious to try this but have such a thing with mouth-feel. How do you keep the oil from separating and all going to the top as you drink it? Do you just keep madly stirring it before every sip? I enjoy coffee, but I drink it slowly. Pretty sure an oily top on my coffee would have me heaving first thing in the morning!…

I used to be exactly like that - always had to plan to have an emergency snack available. However, about 3 weeks ago I switched to a primal way of eating (lower carbs, high fat, high protein) and my blood sugar hasn't dropped ONCE. I can actually go several hours without eating now. Pretty amazing, and honestly, very…

When you are learning to run, there is no such thing as "too slow."

LOL According to my HRM I burn about 850 calories per hour of Zumba. Can't imagine how long I'd have to walk to burn that!

I get up at 4:30 to run, and leave for work between 6 and 6:30. It's doable if you want it. I just have my clothes laid out and ready to go, so I roll out of bed, get dressed, pee and stumble out the door before my body has time to protest. Once I'm moving I'm okay within a few minutes.

I know at least on Primal, you can have white potatoes and rice on an infrequent basis. I had rice last night (Chipotle, yum!) and still came in under my desired carb count, so no harm done. However, I certainly wouldn't eat it on a regular basis.
