  • I'm in for the third week. We'll see how it goes....
  • One of the biggest reasons people get sleepy after lunch is because bood flow gets directed to your stomach and intestines after a meal. This can leave your energy in the dumps and is compounded even more by dehydration. Making sure to get the right about of water should help increase your blood volume allowing the blood…

  • I'm ready to try again...didn't meet all my goals with last week's Skinny Wednesday. It's a new week though, going to make it happen tomorrow! Thanks for the challenge.
  • I'm a 'maintainer too'...My caloies are set for 1500 or so but most days I stay around 1300. I'd be careful about eating back ALL of your exercise calories...I've heard other maintainers say to eat ~1/2 of these to avoid weight gain. Best thing to do though is keep an eye on your weight/inches. If they increase, all it…

  • Just want to say hang in there. I can't imagine how difficult this must be for you to do it without his support. Think about how strong you had to be to lose those first 8 lbs; you've got what it takes to do this! Don't quit now...MFP will be your support. Best wishes.
  • Msarro- I remember seeing your profile quite awhile ago and just wanted to say great job. Looks like you are super close to your goal...Congrats!
  • I'm in...sounds like a great way to fight off the Wednesday slump. Looks like I'm getting up even earlier for extra gym time... Thanks for the challenge!
  • Try adding a tbsp of honey and a tsp of lemon juice to a cup of tea (or plain hot water). I go through a lot of them up here in Northern Colorado.
  • Just a little tip that helps keep me on track...I enter weight training and the time under cardio and then at the bottom of the page under "notes" I list the specific exercises I do and the weights of each. It helps to look back at the progress you make with reps and weight. Welcome to the site and good luck!
  • They sell heart rate monitors that you wear on your arm that will help calculate calories that you burn. One such machine is the body bug (as seen on biggest loser). Any sporting goods/fitness store should carry something like this. Good luck!
  • Sorry to tell you that there is no magic solution. I'm just getting back from a similar holiday slump and the truth is you just have to make yourself do it at the begining. Get active and after a week or so you will notice your energy level going up and your body responding positively to the activity. It's not any fun for…
  • Give primrose supplements a try. They have helped me in the past. Good luck.
  • Response to kgrc: Your profile said your doctor thinks 112 is way too thin and your goal is 110? Please be careful. I'm 5' 6'' (two inches shorter than you) and 112 and am considered "underweight". Just make sure your trying to be healthy and not just skinny. Best of luck.
  • I feel your pain...Breathe right strips have saved me! I make my husband wear them every night. Good luck.
  • Originally from New Mexico, living in Colorado, but my heart has always been in Dallas. Go Cowboys!
  • It's been a binge day for me too...I just can't stop myself. Stress always does it to me. I share your pain.
  • I was a future bride just a few months ago. I worked really hard and stuck tomy MFP plan and I felt awsome on my wedding day! There is nothing wrong with wanting to drop some jaws. Good luck and congrats on your engagement.
  • Vodka and diet soda or vodka and diet tonic. Ask the bartender for a lemon wedge instead of lime. I think it makes the drink taste a lot better. The best part...only about 70 calories!
  • I'm only at 32oz and I have to pee every 20 minutes. Anyone else having this problem? Also, I know "they" recommend 64oz a day but does this take into acount body size? It just seems like so much water for me!
  • There are some pretty considerate guys up here in Ft. Collins. Maybe you should recover a few miles North:smile:
  • In a perfect world... - I would actually experience runner's high - The cat would use the toliet...and flush - Mexican food would be the biggest chunk of the food pyramid
  • Log your weight training time under the cardio section (it's in the database) and it will add in the calories burned. I think the weight training section is for you to keep track of exercises and reps.
  • The therma care heat patches help a lot...and if you can get around to doing anything that gets your blood pumping, it may help ease those cramps. I second the long slow walk idea and listen to some greatt music and sing along to help forget about the pain. Also don't forget to drink tons of water if you do opt to take…
  • If you're worried about going over on calories on your b-day, why don't you plan an activity with friends before your birthday meal? Go for a hike if you're near the mountains like me, or play a round of golf (no cart), roller or ice skating could be fun too. If you work off lots of extra calories beforehand, you will be…
  • Only 1:32...dang, I thought I'd do better. Maybe tomorrow I'll try it BEFORE my daily work out. Thanks for the challenge.
  • http://shehasgoodtaste.blogspot.com/2009/03/eat-clean-hummus.html Here is a simple hummus recipe with nutritional info. You can leave the tahini out (I do) if you don't care for the taste or can't find it in your grocery store. Enjoy!
  • My favorite is 3 jalapenos (remove seeds and stems), 1 white or yellow onion, 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, and a good handful of cilantro. Throw it all in a blender with either fresh tomatoes or a large can of whole tomatoes. Blend it the way you like it, chunky or not. Season it with a little salt and pepper to taste. Hope…
