I've had a binge eating problem most of my life. For some reason, 2 years ago, it "clicked off", I got serious, I added exercise to my life and ate well. I lost 120 pounds. Then...it was back. Suddenly, I couldn't not stop on the way home from work for a few cookies to munch on...then a dozen cookies...then a dozen cookies…

My "go-to" fast food items for when I'm not in the mood for a fast food salad (I usually can't stand that they often have chilled chicken sitting on the salad all day) are the Chicken Fajita pita at Jack in the Box (326 calories, 24 g protein) or the Roast Turkey and Swiss wrap from Arbys (490 calories, but I don't like…

I need to have my right hip replaced due to arthritis (it's bone on bone). I started exercising using very low impact dvds that didn't require a broad range of movement (Leslie Sansone "Walk at Home" series). At first, my hip would hurt like hell after doing this. Then it got to be where not doing them would make it hurt…

I had a Mazda3 hatchback that I loved. So much, that when it was time to replace it, I got another one - love it too! And get the sunroof - essential.

I do 5ks and 10ks often. I walk because my right hip is bone on bone and running is far too painful. I'm walking my first half-marathon this weekend. I joined a local chapter of USA Fit to train. Maybe see if there's one in your area? http://www.usafit.com/

My foot doctor told me to look at the tread of the shoe, but more importantly, to look to see if it's leaning. He said to set them on a table and and get behind them so that the heels of the shoes are at eye level. Do they tilt left or right by a good bit? Then time to replace!

I wish I could control it. For me, it's never really about physical hunger - it's all emotional. I follow most of the advice in this thread to stay full and yet, I still eat to the point of severe discomfort from time to time. I'm doing research to try and find a counselor locally who can help me deal with this.

I'm in the flappy skin club too. Between the National Geographic boobs, the flappy tummy (that kind of makes a second set of boobs when I bend over), the thighs that look like they belong on an 80 year old and, worst of all, my flappy, wrinkly, horribly huge and ugly upper arms, it's difficult at times to feel great about…

I started in 26/28s and at 256 pounds. I'm now in size 10s (occasionally an 8 in skirts) and at 134. misscristie - I'm fighting that body image problem as well.

These are what I started with when I weighed 256 pounds. I could barely get through a "2 mile" video. Due to the limited range of motion in my right hip and the weight, these were more comfortable to do than walking - it's the full stride part that hurts. So, they might be perfect for you too. (I now weight 134 and with…

Can you walk instead of run? My right hip is bone and bone and needs to be replaced. I've been told by my doctor not to run (and, quite frankly, it's too painful to any way). I've been walking instead. My hip does get sore, but then it's always sore.

Same height and the same issues. Or the petites are the right length until you forget and put them in the dryer...

Same here! Her DVDs no longer get my heart rate up much (unless I add weights and do a lot of jogging), but when I started, I could barely get through a one mile walk. I was too embarrassed at my size to exercise in a gym and it was too hot to go walking outside. I did Walk at Home 6 days a week. I still use them on days…

Oh! That's helpful info. I'd always heard new potatoes where better if you were watching your starch/carbs, but didn't know why. Thanks.

I'm 48 and never had chickenpox, so I can't get shingles unless i get chickenpox, right? I'm wondering if I should look into the chickenpox vaccine.

Wow - amazing reading everyone's story. I can relate to so many of them: emotional eater, need a hip replacement, done the weight loss thing before... I lost 100 pounds in a not so healthy way - on Medifast. I've lost the last 17 and maintained since July doing it the MFP way. I've also joined a gym, do water aerobics…

I like the Jay Robb Tropical Dream flavor and HRM Dutch Chocolate. I use one with almond milk before long walks because I want the protein, but don't want a lot of heavy food in my tummy.

This often happens to me too. I tend to give in a little and once I do that...binge. So, sadly, I don't have any answers. It's frustrating because I realize I'm not physically hungry - it's all emotional eating.

megleo818 - that's a rule of thumb I try to follow. I look at my plate and try and make sure it's dominated by veggies (or that there's a bowl full of salad sitting next to it). I used to live on fast food and 100% prepared stuff. I still eat some prepared/package stuff, but I try to balance it out more with fresh veggies…

I bought one and loved it. Then it died. Totally and completely. I did everything tech support (once they bothered to respond) said to revive it - no luck. It was within the first 90 days warranty, so they sent me a new one. Repeat this 3 more times. I haven't bothered to unbox the last one they sent me. I do miss its…

I'm kind of in the same boat. The best money saving tip I found for someone who is trying to stock a kitchen for the first time: find a store that offers spices in bulk! This is even more important if you are new to cooking (like me) and aren't sure yet what spices go well with what. Instead of coughing up a few bucks a…

I've been on a huge tea kick lately - originally I was hoping it would help me cut down on the diet soda I drink, now I just drink tons of both. I really like Mighty Leaf tea...and not just because I won $100 worth in a contest! Their green tropical is nice as a cup or hot or pitcher or iced.
