STOP DIETING and start lifting heavy weights! You don't need to lose weight, just body fat! So get out of the diet mentality and start lifting. Aim for maintaining your weight and find a well-structured program that will help you shed body fat. You will lose a size or two, as well!

Since I work out at home alone and tend to have cats hanging around, I cannot afford complete failure so I stop when my form suffers or I can barely push out that last rep. Then I don't drop weights, hurt my knees or my cats lol

I did ChaLEAN Extreme and then P90X and back to ChaLEAN Extreme. Although I love my ab and back results from P90X, I tend to get better hip and leg results from ChaLEAN Extreme.

I don't like the gym, either. I've been working out at home since 1996 and now I get gym results at home. It's so much more convenient to just slap on my workout clothes, go in my bedroom, and push play on my DVD player!

That's very nice your employer does that. Do they pay your medical insurance there? It's been proven that when the employer proactively helps its employees get healthy and encourages a healthy lifestyle, they lose less money when employees call out sick or go out on disability, etc...

Mine has Weight Watchers coming in every week and they tell us about Weight Watchers meetings while plying us with donuts and cupcakes at the monthly safety meetings. I'm a school bus driver so hardly a very health-conscious industry!

How people will treat you differently. I wasn't prepared for how people treat me. To this day. I work with a lot of morbidly obese and overweight people and I'm the outcast because they don't know I was once obese. Also, extra skin. If only I knew in the 80s (when I lost my weight) what I know now! sigh... lol

It eventually does get easy and just becomes a way of life! The trick is to make small changes you can live with, one at a time. You didn't develop unhealthy habits overnight, so don't turn into Ms Healthy overnight. It'll be a shock to your system!

Hate it. S dash, dash, dash will mean for me this week clearing the TOP of my bus at 4:30am in the dark on Thurs morning and driving 40 kids at a time. Congrats on the new job! I would change your activity level on MFP to "moderately active" and still log your workouts as usual. Because you're adjusting your activity level, don't log your work as a workout. Ie: I'm a school bus driver, which really falls under "lightly active" b/c it takes some cal burn to drive a 15 ton…

Def if you eat healthy fats, you won't be feeling so deprived. I'm hungry a lot too but having healthy fats in my diet certainly helps. And make sure you're eating enough!

I look more like my father and when I was heavy, I was not an apple shape like my mom now is. She has toothpick legs, carries all her weight in her mid-section and big 'uns.
