  • Honey, if you stuck to Insanity, you'll stick to anything! You oughta consider ChaLEAN Extreme if you've done Insanity. I think you'll find it more challenging.
  • I'm 5'7" and 135lbs and my BMI is 21, which is right in the middle of "normal". your height and weight may not be underweight at this point but you're probably REALLY close. Why do you wanna lose 7 more pounds? Compound moves, by the way, are 2 in 1 moves rather than just isolating one body part at a time. I.e. doing a…
  • ^^ he's right too. Walking is good for my 68 year old dad who is post triple bypass, post abdominal aortic aneurysm and has a tough of COPD and coronary artery disease but really not enough for a younger person who wants to lose weight and get in shape. HIIT and weight training are KEY. Moderate cardio eventually turned on…
  • ^^^ Amen! I typically eat dinner 7:30pm and I'm in bed by 9:30pm on work nights. Cleanses are great to feel better if they are done RIGHT but not at all necessary to lose weight. And you're only losing water anyway. I'm not a fan of going even one day without eating solid food, unless you had oral surgery or something lol.…
  • I AM 40 so I hope this doesn't disqualify me! lol I lost 70lbs over 20 years ago and have kept it off. Working out is such a way of life for me I can't imagine NOT exercising! Feel free to add me if you want support! If I can do this, you ALL can!!
  • Lose the diet soda! I have a half one with dinner and THAT'S IT! I drink water the rest of the day.
  • ^^ Sounds like me these days lol. Food and people are like comparing apples and oranges. My experience is that if you even have to ask, you already know your answer. Don't second-guess your gut instincts!
  • Agreed! And subconsciously we are all still looking for quick and easy and hoping it's healthy lol. Plus they taste like crap lol The whole diet industry is a lie. I hate hate hate the word "diet" these days!
  • Yes and if you have IBS-C, constipation is not the only issue. Also painful bloating from eating high fiber foods. Too much fiber causing even worse constipation. That was my problem for so many years!
  • I'm gonna inbox you. Have you been diagnosed with IBS-C?
  • I've never done WW but am familiar with it and it's just too much math for me. Too complicated for me to just nourish myself lol. That's why I never joined! Here, you log everything and it tells you in one glance how you're doing with the macros you've set. And you can customize your macros to suit your fitness goals.
  • That too! I think Amy's Organics does that with their Cheese Enchiladas. When you read the label, the facts are for one enchilada. That's about the only complaint I have for their enchiladas though lol
  • If Atkins is so successful then why am I seeing everyone here "doing it again"?? While I tend to eat higher protein, my carbs are around 35%. I wouldn't do a diet like Atkins w/o doc approval b/c a high protein diet can be taxing on the kidneys over the long term. And if you have a high energy lifestyle or kids to chase…
  • If you've done it many times, have you maintained using Atkins?
  • Great post OP and ^^ this too!! :)
  • I have well water. If you like the taste of metal, you'll LOVE my water! lol I drink bottled water. I used to HATE water. I was a soda addict growing up (hence the obesity), then Snapple, then Crystal Light, then as I got lazy in my old age it just became easier to grab a bottle of water, rather than spending buckoo bux on…
  • Beer for hydration?? Since when? Please don't tell me your a nutritionist!! lol
  • I didn't talk about it much except to a couple of friends who I trusted and my family (I was in 9th grade). I was afraid to blab about it b/c I had talked about diets before and failed to lose the weight and I didn't want people to make fun of me if I didn't succeed. This was back in the 80s, way before Internet and MFP…
  • I just looked at your diary and UP THOSE CALORIES! If a restrictive plan is too hard to stick with, you won't! And even if you do stick it out and lose the weight, you will gain it right back when you go back to "normal". On non-workout days, to maintain, I eat 1700-1800 calories. I'm 40, 5'7" and 135lbs. I would go up to…
  • I make a fool of myself in my everday life. It's fun lol Go for it!! The exercise will help you lose weight and help build your stamina and endurance. I've improved in all other exercise, cardio, lifting, everything since I've been doing Yoga!!
  • 40 right here! Don't feel it and was told don't look it *unless everyone's trying to me nice lol) I'll add you :)
  • Smoke some meth and clean my house while I eat a cheeseburger! :D
  • Doesn't Diet Coke have Splenda now? Or is that still Nutrasweet? Hypocrite much?
  • Quick added calories kinda defeats the purpose of logging, doesn't it? lol For all we know it could be a 30 pack of beer!
  • ^^AGREED! I have kept my 70lbs off for over 20 years by allowing myself to be imperfect. It's progress, not perfection. I'm sure you would pick apart my food diary for today b/c of my Thomas' Light English muffin, all natural peanut butter (no salt added but high fat), slice of American cheese (sinner!!), Chobani fruit on…
  • And my current default picture is my results from my first round of ChaLEAN Extreme. I'm on Round 2 now :)
  • ChaLEAN Extreme. It's an entire 90-day program, easy to follow, can be modified with resistance tubing or you can use dumb bells, can also be modified for all low impact or for beginners, yet challenging enough for someone advanced, like me. I'll send you a message!
  • Ok, does the food make you feel any better afterward? Or do you feel sick, guilty, disgusted, and still sad on top of it? Recall how you felt after taking those long walks. Did the exercise feel good buzzies kick in? That's what keeps me working out...it's my anti-depressant, my anti-anxiety medication, and my anti-aches…
  • Have you ever read the ingredient lists on their products, too? Remember, WW is just another "diet" company getting rich off of your dreams. It does work for some people, but those people don't realize that with a little guidance and support they probably could have done it on their own...
  • It can be done without WW. I lost 70lbs over 20 years ago and kept it off and have never set foot into a WW meeting. Feel free to add me for support! :)
