  • ^ 8 Pretty and friendly looking :)
  • I actually quit and started on MFP at the same time back in Feb this year. I've still not smoked and lost 16lbs at the same time so it is possible! Stick to your cal goal each day, but don;t kick yourself if you go over, your appetite does indeed change when you stop smoking and you will also find that you enjoy food more…
  • Congratulations! Keep exercising, but do look at changing your daily calories goal. You should be on a maintenance amount rather than a weight loosing amount.
  • Don't be so harsh on yourself. Life happens and with life comes special events and celebrations where we naturally eat more. I've had a stuffing my face weekend, meal out Friday evening and a family party yesterday. We all deserve treats sometimes and to be honest, I find I eat more when I try and be good all of the time.…

  • I count everything I eat and drink. Also important to count fruit as that can be very high in cals and sugar.
  • Hi, I live with long term pain too. I have a form of Arthritis and nerve damage affecting the soles of my feet. I enjoy walking, just limited to distance and speed. I try and do one decent walk a week (upto an hour), plus a daily 15 minute walk. I also fit in some time on Wii fit doing yoga and some of the more gentle…
  • A really good topic to discuss! Looking forward to getting some ideas myself, I tend to buy soup normally....some quick recipes would be great.
  • I count sugar free squash as water as like you I can't drink water on it's own. I do however log tea, coffee and any other drinks I have during the day.
  • Not a Mommy, but a Brit 30 something who has had and made several big life changes in the last 2 years (Divorce, quit smoking, new partner) and has taken the weight loss challenge on as well! I log daily and I will be watching what you are eating! Feel free to add me, if not good luck on your journey anyway x
  • I would say a daily goal of consuming 1700 cals would be sensible for maintaining your weight considering the amount of exercise you do. When you increase your cals go for healthy options...lots of veg, fruit, salad and low fat proteins. Good luck!
  • My other half supports me by being on here with me. He does not need to loose as much as me, but he wants to be healthier and encourages me. We eat similar meals so I don't have to cook 2 meals, he joins me on walks for exercise and he even picks out clothes for me when shopping...things I would never have picked out…
  • I gained during the break up of the marriage and in the first couple of months after he left, but I used the divorce as a new start and it has been a big factor in my decision to really loose some pounds along with meeting someone new.
  • British 30 something also in need of more support. Feel free to add me.
  • 15 min walk plus 15 min yoga and toning exercises as a minimum daily. Sometimes like today, I will walk a little longer. I also aim to do 1 long walk a week....3-5 miles.
  • 10lbs in 5 months....slow weight loss, but that's what I wanted. I've never been able to stick to diets and have struggled with my weight for a several years. I wanted to change my diet long term and simply eat more healthy....that way this time I can keep the weight off. Plus gave up smoking at same time so really chuffed…
  • I like Special K Bars, but also use Mini Babybel light and low cal crisps like Skips and Wotsits for quick snack fixes. When I have more time and am near a kitchen, I prepare a small fruit salad or make a slice of toast (weightwatchers bread)

  • Birtish and Proud! (Leeds). happy to add friends with similar goals
  • "Thunder Thighs" Given to me by my Dad. He actually meant it as a compliment in my early teens, I was a size 10 with curves in all the right places, but 15 years on....the curves have spread! Thanks to fitness pal they are retreating again tho!

  • At the same time as loosing weight, I managed to stop smoking....12 weeks now!:drinker:
  • When cooking something, if unsure if you have had the "suggested" portion size....weigh it! I now keep a set of scales on my kitchen worktop and if I am unsure how much the portion is or if preparing something fresh, I weigh it. Also, if you don;t find something in the food lists, add the cals etc yourself. Good luck with…
  • Yes, stick with what you are doing, as others have already said, that's a healthy weight loss and you are more likely not to put it back on at the end. It's about long term lifestyle changes, not just weight loss. I'm loosing 1lb a week roughly (although not lost this week) and happy with that as I see this as a lifestyle…
  • I'm 32 and I've suffered with acne since about the age of 11. At school my nick name was "pizza face" and of course that huge impacts on my confidence. I've heard that spots focused around the chin and jaw can be sign of hormonal and ovary problems (maybe be worth getting your levels checked). I use a range of products…
  • Mini babybel cheese - but the light version....Only 72 cals per cheese. I really enjoy them.:flowerforyou:
  • I spread my carbs through the day, but try to limit to just 2 out of 3 meals if I can. I also don't eat anything after 8pm unless out with friends for a meal
  • I log everything including fruit and veg for the same reasons as many on here. It's all calories.....tea, coffee, cake....it all adds up!

  • If you have chocolate left.....just ration it for the next few days. Don't tell yourself off for eating it, enjoy it, but just in small amounts :)
  • I'll be cooking a roast chicken dinner on Monday for Easter. The added bonus being lots of chicken left overs ready for a tasty salad the next day :)
  • I recently made a really healthy, low fat and tasty dish using own brands and tins. Portion cost was under a pound and I was stuffed! Serves 2 Chopped onion, lightly fried with a spray of low fat olive oil or similar. Add a tin of own brand tinned Toms (I used Asda Smart price) Add a tin of Green Lentils (Again Asda's own)…
