  • I am just starting out with fitness activities. I can't afford gym membership, so I walk and swim (my city offers free swim sessions at certain times). I have also purchased a second hand Wii Fit and use a "game" called My Fitness Coach which develops a work out for you as an individual. Tried it for the first time today…
  • I'm here because I eat too much cos I simply love food!
  • My Mum, when introducing me to some relatives I have not seen since I was 2 said "This is Rebecca, she is a lot bigger since the last time you saw her" Innocent? Maybe, but she is always having a go at me for my weight gain despite it being due to steroids!
  • We celebrated (in the UK) with a lovely home cooked meal by me and some flowers from him.
  • I quit using an e cig 2 years ago last week. My biggest tip is keep busy, go for a walk when the craving comes visiting. Good luck, it is worth the pain and I promise it gets easier.
  • I share my diary with friends on here. I personally find it interesting and helpful to see what others are eating....gives me ideas, inspiration for different foods to try.
  • Wholewheat Spaghetti with Salmon, Spinach and Chili. Just flake some cooked salmon fillet into the cooked pasta along with some wilted baby spinach leaves, garlic, fresh red chilli, lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil. Lots of flavour, just be careful about your pasta serving size!
  • Lately I have been having 2 slices of toast with butter and a low cal hot chocolate. A weekend fav is a slice of toast and a scrambled egg made with skimmed milk.
  • Not something I have done, but friends have tried this. On fasting days (2 days per week) they stuck to 500 cals a day. On the other 5 days, they stuck to no more than 2000. They said they maintained at least and felt less bloated. As for weight loss not much difference
  • Every situation/relationship is different, but for me, divorce was the best thing I could have done. I was depressed, cried all the time, lost contact with friends, overeating....generally miserable. My marriage was not working. We tried, well I tried but it did not work. I have now found the most amazing man. My soul…
  • Add me if you would like a UK friend :)
  • Yep, I do this. When I see meat on offer I make the most of it. Take it home and then portion it up for the freezer. The big trick to sticking to a budget is planning your menu. I sit down the night before my weekly big shop and write out not only my shopping list but my menu for the coming week. I write the menu using…
  • Well done! Agree, some small changes can really help. I went from semi skimmed, to skimmed milk and cut out sugar, on sweetners now if and I mean if I have a coffee or tea. Hot water with a slice of lemon and half a teaspoon of honey is now my drink of choice!
  • I find avoiding carbs in an evening helps. but don't cut out altogether. I tend to have a slice of toast for breakfast and a yougurt. Lunch is some crackers and pate, or a sandwich. Evening meal is lean meat or fish with lots of vegetables. On a work out day (swimming for me), I tend to have an omlette and salad or chunky…
  • 33 and in Leeds, UK. Send a request if you want a buddy :)
  • I don't log spices as I use a lot of them to flavour my food. But I log everything else.
  • I let MFP do the calculations for me, but make sure you are honest about your work.daily activity levels...don't include work outs in that bit, there is somewhere else to factor in work outs. Good luck in your journey!
  • I make my own bread....white is better cal wise than brown/wholewheat......but eat what you like within moderation. I try limit bread to once per day (breakfast normally as more time to use the carbs).
  • Shower, breakfast, hair , make up and get dressed.......80 mins. Sorry.....I don't like to be rushed!
  • Agree! Slow and steady is the best way for healthy and long lasting weight loss.
  • I have to have my tea in a morning and throughout the day, it keeps me going at work! I take it quite strong, with a little skimmed milk and 1 cal free sweetner.
  • I am aiming at 1lb a week too. 1,420 cals per day based on 25 min work out 4 times per week. Last time I managed to loose on less exercise, but my job has changed and now I sit for 8 hours a day :(
  • I've just come back from a similar length break and I am also wanting to loose the weight I have gained back. I lost 14lbs last year, but gained 6 back :( Add me for support :)
  • Just remember to factor in your exercise cals. 1500 a day should be your basic. If you work out and burn 300, you need to eat 300 more and so on.
  • It's still very early days but I agree with a post above....you are eating too few cals for a man. 1500 should be your minimum each day not 1200. You are risking going into starvation mode.
  • I like a really lovely crispy skinned baked potato, but it has to be baked in oven not the cheat microwave version! Fav toppings include - Prawns with a little low fat mayo and black pepper Low fat sour cream with chopped jalepenos stired through or for the ultimate comfort - a little butter and half fat grated cheese.
  • I used an electronic cig when I quit in Feb this year.....still off the smokes! It is possible, just give the ecig a try. I still use it with a zero nicotine cartridge when I feel that urge e.g. after a good meal, when I've had a few drinks or feeling very stressed. I will cut it out totally but I'm not putting too much…
  • I weigh in every Saturday morning and record what it says. There is no point weighing in more than once a week as the body can fluctuate up to 2lbs every day depending on water intake etc
