I was in Safeway getting a card for someone on my way to work and got a salad from the salad bar while I was there, plus some healthy snacks to stock up for the office. It helps curb my eating whatever happens to be in the office kitchen just because I'm hungry. Thankfully I've been better about that overall but still it's…

Sandra - hooray for virtual online motivation helping you stick with it! Toni - you reminded me that my brother in law gave me a HRM for Christmas a couple years ago, I learned to set it up and then got pregnant and ended up putting it in a drawer. Need to get that out. A lot of people say that MFP overestimates the…

I know, I log all my salad stuff. Sometimes I think I could just quick add _X_ calories or guesstimate twice as many tomatoes and not log the cucumber or something, but in the end I'm obsessive about it and log it all. For a while when on Weight Watchers, I would just get the same salad every time and copy it over from the…

Debbie, I just saw your post at the end of the other weekly thread - good luck with the dairy & gluten free. Looks like you had a lot of great, filling food and snacks. You can't expect it to go perfectly on your first day! :-) Today I wondered if my coffee intake might be causing me the stomach discomfort I am having,…

It looks great! A really flattering cut.

I'm sorry. As for how to heal, I suggest: Focus on yourself, things you enjoy doing, what makes you a special person. You will be fine! Make sure that you are 100% complete without him by valuing yourself as a person and what you have to offer the world and other people. You don't deserve hot and cold behavior and someone…

When you hit "quote" at the bottom right of the post you want to quote, the box will come up with the person's words inside the brackets that say quote. You have to make sure to post your post after the "/quote", which ends the quoting function.

Corey - that's been my problem this week, kids getting up at least an hour earlier than usual. It's been tough lately, I admire that you still get in the workouts with the busy home life like mine! I'll have to check out the oatmeal. I have never tried Chia Seeds but I do eat regular Quaker oatmeal a lot and like greek…

I think the weekly chat thread is a great idea. Sandra - that is great you are doing the treadmill! I really want/need an exercise machine in my house. By the time I get home from work, take care of three kids, and eat dinner, I am usually wiped out and just want to sit down a few minutes. Debbie - I'm sorry the doctor…

Oh I want to add that 150 is my first goal, I had lifetime membership at WW and that's the benchmark to get to use the program for free again. But I want to get to 145 after that and be fit. That's the weight I was when I lost weight before having kids, ran my first marathon, and felt amazing.

I don't think I ever introduced myself, but have popped in to the group a few times lately. I'm Cynthia, 38 years old (I'll turn 39 next month so I suppose I won't be a thirty-something for too much longer). I have three children - a 6-year old girl, a boy who will be 3 in a couple months, and a 7-month old baby boy. I…

Debbie - I'm sorry about the stomach bug! That is a crappy way to lose weight when you don't feel good. It's much better to have loss weeks where you feel fantastic and powerful and healthy. Hope next week is that kind of week for you! I'm needing some motivation so I want to be more active in this group. In the past I've…

I'm jumping back in after joining and then going MIA for a bit. I've had a ton of travel in the past month, a really hard, crazy month. I am now trying to lose the pounds I gained while traveling through South America, during my daughter's surgery, and during generally a very stressful month. :( Sleep - that is interesting…

I'm new here, Debbie/shorty suggested I join since I'm looking for support too. I'll post an official intro in the other thread, but just wanted to say that this is EXACTLY my situation! I was trying on all my shorts this weekend since it was so hot, and although I can wear my size 10 pants, none of the 10 shorts fit! Nor…

When I've done road trips I try to pack peanut butter sandwiches or something else that is easy to eat while driving and filling. Other great snacks - i cut up apples and have them in a baggie, or carrots, almonds, etc. since I like to have things to munch on during a road trip. Also, I like to have a mix of fruit that is…

I try to plan for a modest portion of something I love and not to overdo it. And I don't plan to eat it every day. I also try to make choices on the day - well, I really indulged so later I will make sure to not indulge in something else. Moderation is my friend! Don't beat yourself up and enjoy it in moderation, and plan…

I do a splash of juice or something most of the time. I drink tons of water that way. I started out doing half and half and eventually kept cutting it with more water and now it's really just a splash. I think by the end of the day it adds up to 1 ounce of juice, which I figure is worth it if it gets me to drink the amount…

I've been adding it as a 500-calorie "food" deduction in the Breakfast section but keep meaning to go to the custom goals and just manually set my calorie goal, so I can get a more accurate look at my nutrient tracking. I was at 1200 calories + the 500 for breastfeeding, but felt it was not enough to maintain my milk…

Enell for sure. I have two, and nothing I have tried comes close to working this well. I have run two marathons and tons of half marathons in them. I used to do two sports bras, but they would chafe on my shoulders and in other places after exercising or running for longer periods of time.

Oh, and I'm adding the 500 calories as a "food", even though I'm not sure I love that way of doing it. I may go in and just adjust my calorie goal by doing it "custom" or adding it as an exercise each day. It would probably make the breakdown of protein/fat/fiber/carb/etc tracking easier. I'm also trying to ramp up my…

I'm nursing my third child, who is 3 months old. I have never been one of the lucky people who had weight drop off while breastfeeding, nor when I weaned. In fact, both times I weaned my other kids, I gained exactly 6 pounds and didn't change a thing. Obviously I was eating the same and not breastfeeding anymore, so I…
