  • So did I. We had just come home from work/preschool and he climbed onto the kitchen chair and folded his hands so cute on the table and said " Mommy, my friend at school says there is no Santa Claus". I was taken aback, and decided to turn it around on him by saying, "Well, what do YOU think" and he picked up his little…
  • Any diet or lifestyle change or whatever terminology you use, is not going to be long term if you don't stick with it continuously. That doesn't mean that it didn't work. It obviously got the weight off, didn't it? So it worked. Once the weight is off, many people can keep it off and many can't, but the diet itself did get…
  • Sweat is kind of gross. I wish there was a way to exercise without sweating! But a lot of people at the gym sweat, so you would not be alone in your quest to sweat!
  • Wow! You must really know a lot about budgeting! I don't know how you do it... I work full time and usually pick up ingredients for a couple days food every other day. I am used to doing that instead of shopping every week. I was raised by a French mother (raised in USA) and the French tend to go to the market every day…
  • If you have lost nine pounds so far, then you are doing everything right. You need to keep doing what you are doing and be patient. It will come off. But for me, strength training was the best for toning and reducing body fat percentage. Go on youtube and look for videos on Les Mills Bodypump class. He also has lots of…
  • When you tell your kid to run to the kitchen and dig a box/bag out of the trash and bring it to you so you can log the nutrition info from it.
  • Thanks! I have been experimenting and the shakes are awesome!
  • I think you are doing great. I started in January and was very frustrated because for the first month I lost nothing. Not one pound. It was making me crazy. But then I would go to the success stories and see all the people who lost so much weight and how it took them six months or a year or longer, and I was determined to…
  • I only log real exercise. Not walks in the park. They have to get me breathing hard, get my heart pumping. A good rule of thumb is if you hold a conversation without running out of breath, than don't log it.
  • My sister is tiny, about 115 pounds and is forty two and has three kids. She has always been this way. She has always been a bartender, so she is on her feet a lot but i wouldn't say she is especially active. Her kids are grown, except for the youngest. She can put away food like it's going out of style. The thing about…
  • Don't despair, dear. I had a miscarriage in 1986 and two months later was pregnant again and had a healthy baby boy. Most people who have miscarriages can still go on to have a healthy baby. I am glad you are wanting to get healthy. This is a good site, you will find a lot of support here.
  • That's awesome! I have a pair of those too, still waiting for the day to get in them! But I am getting there slowly but surely!
  • I will take a diet peanut butter protein bar and slather peanut butter on it. I know that the fatty peanut butter sort of cancels out the diet bar, but it's so yummy!
  • I just want to let you know Dan, that I read this, studied it, made sure I understood it, and followed it. Since I read it about a week ago, I have lost two pounds, after a plateau of two months. You are wonderful for taking the time to write such an informative post. Thank you.
  • Back in the eighties when I was in my 20's I used to work out to this show with this hot dude with curly black hair who did an aerobics show on TV. I think his name started with a G. I lost a ton of weight after babies with his show. But he was the only hot one. All the other shows were with women.
  • I appreciate your opinion, I just don't understand it. I eat less than half of my allowed sodium just about every day. Peanut butter I use in my protein shakes mostly. And P.B. is loaded with protein. I still usually manage to stay under my fat, so as long as I can do that, P.B. should be ok, right? And the only processed…
  • I believe with roux you need to fry it in butter, so I wouldn't suggest that. I would just use corn starch mixed in cold water. I hope it turns out good, sounds yummy!
  • Hey everyone! Well, today I cleaned the kitchen and tidied up a bit. Glad to see everyone is so in love! BTW, to the dude who said I should finish my diary for Saturday, I would but I'm not sure how much I drank... I am sure it was way over what MFP allows.
  • These are good suggestions, I will try them.
  • No I don't use one. I have thought about getting one. The classes I take are advanced and very strenuous and they are an hour long. They are said to burn five hundred to six hundred calories. I only log three hundred, because I want to be on the safe side and not log too many. Maybe a HRM would be a good investment.
  • bump for that last recipe, mmmm!
  • Funny thing is, I have been doing these classes for three months and everything else has gotten easier. Not easy, just a little easier than when I started. Except for this exercise. I will have to keep at it!
  • Elipticals totally take my breath away! But they sure do build up a sweat!
  • If you want to pack a lunch and don't have time to make recipes, try Cedarlane frozen foods. I found them in the organic section of the grocery store. They have all natural ingredients and taste great.
  • This may sound ironic, but for me, lifting weights has helped my lower back pain tremendously. Look online for exercises to do for back pain. There are many. I joined my gym and take classes for lifting, so I get a full body workout, but you can just do ones for lower back too.
  • I am a hairstylist and barber. I definitely don't sit all day. But even so, I get up early before dawn and go to the gym and take the early classes in cardio and weights. This burns about 500 calories a day and has helped me lose a bunch of inches on waist and hips.
  • I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend. I was just explaining, as an outsider, how and why you may be getting all those sexual comments all day that you seem to hate. so. I was just trying to help. Maybe you really didn't know why you were getting those. Not sure where the thing about a girl asking for it came from. That's a…
  • Here is a good thread.http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/538381-in-place-of-a-road-map It explains BMR, and TDEE and gives you a website to go to to calculate everything. It is very informative.

  • I say if the sexual connotations bother you, maybe you should have a different profile pic. Your "come hither" look and white sports bra may give of the wrong impression. Funny, I never get that...hmmm.....
