  • They have a diet menu that I love. Just google "Taco Bell Drive Thru Diet Menu". There are seven items that are under nine grams of fat. They are typically burritos and tacos with no cheese, and chicken instead of beef. Tasty and probably as nutritious as a taco can be, with the usual lettuce, tomatoes on it and no sour…
  • I love Atkins Peanut Butter cups. I am not on a lo carb diet but they were on sale once so I got them and now the other diet bars and candies won't do. It's high in fat compared to others, since Atkins is a higher fat diet, but I love them so I work them into my intake.
  • I would love the problem of kids who like healthy food. I say buy enough for everyone. You can get yogurts on sale at food lion for like eleven for five bucks. And there are a lot of low cal treats you can buy cheap or at least as cheap as the fatty stuff. So get your teens on the bandwagon. That's my opinion, anyway. If…
  • I mixed some creamy garlic dressing with salsa the other day and omg it was sooo good! Whatever type of creamy textured thing you like, say yogurt, like greek yogurt, take that and mix with salsa, adding a bit more salsa than creamy stuff. You will love it!
  • I think that's a great goal for someone your height. I hope you reach it!
  • There is nothing wrong with taking a laxative if you don't go. I do on a regular basis, and have for about ten years. If I don't, I won't go for five days. Stress usually does that to me. But there are many reasons for it. Take a laxative. You will feel so much better and regular.
  • I think you should wear what is comfortable for you. My sister has worn nothing but black all her life. She is skinny, so it's just that she likes black. She is dark haired and says it makes her eyes look bluer. But anyway, I have often seen very overweight women stylishly dressed in bright colored outfits, including…
  • What a relief! I am glad you didn't really lose your cat! Congrats, that is a wonderful accomplishment!
  • I am not a stay at home mom, but I have two men, my skinny husband and adult son. I cook for them on weekends and sometimes during the week. Funny, but the longer you are on a healthy kick, the cravings for their fatty food isn't as strong. This morning, I made a half package of bacon, sausage, omelet fried in the bacon…
  • Thanks for taking the time to respond. I will try to make sense of it all.
  • That is an average of almost a pound per week- a very healthy, normal loss. It is natural to want the weight to fly off quickly, especially when we work so hard, but you are losing just fine. As long as it is consistent, and it seems to be, except fhe slight gain, which is also normal. But you are doing great, just keep it…
  • I drink tea a lot, it gives me something to do, as I can honestly say, my cravings are not so much hunger, but for something to do so sipping tea works for me. Are you really hungry, like stomach growling, or do you just eat because you're bored? If you are bored, then you should find something to do besides eat.
  • Hi, don't lose hope! You are losing perfectly normal. I didn't lose anything at all my first month, it was sooo discouraging! But I kept at it, exercising like crazy and taking measurements. My measurements showed I had lost two inches on hips an waist the first month, but scale showed no loss. So I say take your…
  • My gym has bodypump and other cardio/strength classes at six in the morning and I love love LOVE going so early. When I first started my weight loss journey two months ago, I joined the gym, and I was so worried I wouldn't stick to it. Because I knew I wouldn't go after work, I would be too tired and cranky. So mornings…
  • I feel your pain, I have had several plateaus, and I have only lost ten pounds in the last two months, when I started. But I just kept at it, doing cardio classes at the gym daily and eating healthy. To break a plateau, I have eaten a bit more, but it has to be protein related. In other words, when I was plateauing, I…
  • I used to work in a home for the mentally challenged, humans, not dogs, and they often had seizures. I can't say anything about dogs, but I can say that phenobarbital was the medicine most commonly used to control them, but they still would have seizures. Just not as often. Also, food was never altered or changed because…
  • Hello. I am not a grandmother yet, but I am a forty eight yr old female, and I am finding it is much harder to lose when you are older. But I have been at it since Jan this year, and I have lost ten pounds. Also, three inches on the waist and three on the hips. For me, exercise at the gym has been the turning point.…
  • Musicians. I love musicians. Maybe cause I am one. We are a strange people.
  • Hi. I don't know what recipe you are looking for, but just a tip for the future: When you see something in the forums that you think you may want to go back to later, write something as a response, most people write the word "bump". This will put the topic in to your topics on your profile page and you can easily go back…
  • I know, right? That is soooo frustrating! The belly is the ugliest thing and the one thing most of us would do anything to get rid of, but it takes its sweet ol' time. Bellies love us.
  • Yeah, I had the same thing happen. I started in Jan this year and lost 10 pounds, but it looks like more (to me) because I have been exercising so much at the gym and I have lost six inches in my waist and hips. (three off hips and three off waist). None of the people who see me on a daily basis have noticed, but I saw…
  • Do not despair! I didn't lose anything my first month either, but I lost six pounds my second month! For some reason, the weight doesn't want to come off that first month. But it will show, I promise. Good for you on the exercise, because that is going to help you lose. I took before pictures too, which is nice, because…
  • This may sound weird, but I like to hurt. When I exercise, I like to feel a burn, I like to sweat, I like to feel like I am dying. I take all the morning classes at my gym, and die every time I go, but I die with a little less effort each time.
  • Oh, no, don't say "exercise is out"! That couldn't be farther from the truth! Some of my most intense and muscle building workouts are done on my back! No, not that, silly. Bench pressing. I'm female, and not very strong, and I started with weights in January and I am amazed at the inches and pounds that are falling off of…
  • When you say you try this or that, how long do you try it for? A week? A day? Two weeks? How did you lose the 17 pounds? BTW, congrats on that.
  • Your body isn't getting enough food. Do you log your workouts? If you do, you will get more calories to eat, and you should eat at least half of your exercise calories. You will lose quicker that way.
  • I would say this is a huge NSV! Congratulations on losing enough to have your pants falling off you! Haha! Like others have said, you gotta have pants, so along your journey you will need to buy a couple cheap clothes items along the way. Keep up the good work!
  • I fake it. I just put in whatever exercise that amounts to the 350. It's easier and it still shows the calories burned.
  • The more muscle you have on your body, the more calories you burn by doing nothing. So working out does pay off. With only flab on your body, it will take a much longer time to lose weight than if you have muscle. I am not sure about the scientific end of this, but I know it works, because when I started this journey two…
