Epilepsy is another one. I think almost half of the people who say they're low carb in this thread have a medical condition.
-
It's definitely easier if you don't have to.. I'm not debating that. I didn't know about keto until I dropped my carbs so low that I thought I should probably do some research on how that would affect me. It was helpful for me to type 'low carb' into proquest for some research on the subject..as I only had the fact that my…

What's considered high protein? High fat? Moderate protein? Low fat? The label is helpful in finding specific things about whatever way of eating someone chooses (or has) to follow. What word is a person supposed to use to get the attention of someone who eats similarly or to find recipes or research?
-
Just making a joke since you seem to find the need to group anyone who eats a generally low amount of carbs together as one single person (or think that people who eat a low amount of carbs are somehow all friends)..and dismiss them as idiots not to be taken seriously (or srsly). Something you were doing long before your…

I don't think that's how it works

Sounds like something my SO would say. Interestingly enough, my endo gave me a choice: medication or lower my carbs further. I couldn't imagine that lowering carbs any further would be possible for me..so I opted to try medication. It was a carb blocker called acarbose. It was amazing. It worked the way it was supposed to…

Weren't you doing so already?
-
This. I like doing jumping Jacks, High knees, standing back kicks, travelling squats, etc with a resistance loop too.
-
It doesn't. Saying lchf feel full (if that's how it was worded) isn't the best but certainly doesn't insinuate that no one else does.
-
I personally wouldn't.. but I would never say that it applies to everyone else. Maybe wording it as 'lchf keeps me satiated moreso than anything else I've tried' would have been better. Not everyone is a wordsmith. Or maybe I give other people too much credit.

not just the sugar is the devil threads end up like that. I've seen many threads where the OP is asking how to cut back on carbs or sugar (without mentioning that they think carbs are bad) and pictures of Donuts show up. I understand asking people why..because no one should HAVE to completely cut things they really want to…

On that point..i still have 500 calories left to get to 1200..and that's not counting the hour of exercise I have to do yet..which will give me about 300 more. Some days I have trouble eating enough. I never had that problem until lchf. Not saying other people don't. Just saying I personally never came across that issue…

I guess it's not really rules for people who can't eat the stuff you would have trouble fitting in anyway. :)
-
I don't see it as rules. It's the same as anyone trying to get their macros within their limits..if they're watching macros. I still have so much to eat today..and exercise to do. I just looked at my nutrition break down and noticed a quest bar will fit in nicely. I'm lifting some today and will want to hit my protein…

I hear ya. I was going to type that I really miss ice cream..but I don't anymore. The blended frozen berries and heavy cream do it for me. However, if I didn't need to be so restrictive, I wouldn't be.
-
Or cyclical keto. Haha
-
Why? Because he asked if he could have half baked ice cream..which is 32g of net carbs. In order to fit it into the keto macros he would need to have a large number of calories to work with in order to get the desired amount of ice cream and stay within the 5%. Exercise increases the number of calories one can eat..this…

Ah yes. Thanks for clarifying. I have reactive. All of my fasting numbers are always normal. Once carbohydrate is introduced I produce too much insulin and my bg drops. I have the same problem with exercise. I passed out during my first glucose tolerance test. It was not fun.
-
Depends on how many calories you're eating a day and how many carbs you used earlier that day. Someone who has 2300 calories has more carbs to eat than someone with only 1400..since it's all about the percentage. My guess would be half a serving, maybe, if you're calorie intake is high. I would not be able to fit it in.

Ibreatheimhungry.com Her recipes are awesome.

My diary is open if you want to see what keto looks like. Like I said March 5th wasn't the best for carbs. The rest is decent. I use too much heavy cream

Unexpected gain for hypoglycemia, too. Excess insulin messes with more than just blood glucose levels. Once one part of the endocrine system is off the others are stressed and cause issues as well.
-
Rules? Keep your macros at 5% net carb 20% protein and 75% fat..give or take a few percent for each (whatever works best)..drink enough fluids and keep your sodium up. Done. :)
-
I mean..i eat 5% net carbs..sometimes below not usually above (except last Thursday was 10% I think because..road trip, nxt, and beer). So, that puts me around 18-27g net per day (depending on exercise) and I have about 70-140g of frozen berries (mix of strawberry, blueberry, cranberry, cherry, and raspberry) most nights.…

You can't eat fruit on low carb? There are also low carb ice cream and baked goods recipes.

I think I've cursed it too much for us to ever be cool again, anyway. I'm just glad it hasn't crapped out on me completely yet. It's been working overtime for over a decade.
-
Darn. I could be eating all the candies if I would just learn to love my pancreas..
-
Funny. Doctors do the same on occasion..as hypoglycemia has been misdiagnosed as bipolar disorder and depression in some.

i didn't read that until your gif. ...seriously? my low carb diet is for the massive amounts of insulin my pancreas produces in response to carbs. not sure my emotional dysfunction has anything to do with it.
