My diary is open. I eat low carb. I do eat a lot of chicken and vegetables..but i don't prepare it the same all the time. I'll make chicken and vegetables in a coconut milk and curry paste sauce, cilantro lime chicken, chicken coated in parmesan, paprika, oregano, parsley, and butter..etc. You can do a lot to fix up…

Artichoke, raspberries, legumes, nuts, and seeds, cereal, barley, pasta..to name a few.

Wait, what? A person needs 125g?

Do I really need to add the caveat about dosage?? From all of the research I've done, I feel confident saying that saturated fat is not harmful in moderation. I wasn't suggesting anyone attempt to get all of their fat from sources high in saturated fat. Did you read all of the various sources on the wiki page for the sake…

My uncle started buying all organic food after his daughter was diagnosed with autism.

I hope there aren't people drinking hydrogen dioxide. That would be...problematic.

I want to: -control my hypoglycemia rather than it controlling me -be able to keep up with my almost 4 year old who has more energy than any human being should -possess a decent amount of strength -look good in a catsuit

I never drank any soda and got fat. Now that I've lost 80 lbs, I occasionally drink diet soda, and continue to lose weight. I like it because it's sweet but has zero carbs. I can't haz carbz so I drink the diet soda.

this information is 5-8 years old..

...there is no scientific evidence that saturated fat is harmful. I get my fats from nuts, olive oil, hemp oil, coconut oil and coconut milk (both are high in saturated fat), fish, heavy cream, cheese, almond butter, coconut butter, meat..etc. My diet is 75% fat. My cholesterol levels are normal.

Are you eating back the fitbit calories? Personally, I would only eat back a portion of the calories burned from 30 day and lifting. If the walking you do is your norm..that counts towards your TDEE and should not be eaten.

Our family drinks whole milk from the local dairy. I grew up with 2% from the same dairy. My SO prefers whole and I would rather my toddler drink whole, as well. I don't drink cows milk anymore because it has too many carbs for me to handle. I will occasionally have almond, coconut, or cashew milk but it's not a regular…

Weight fluctuates..like others have said. I've put on 4lbs this week..but I also recently started strength training and ovulated. I drink sufficient fluids and weigh my food..so while the number going up was slightly disappointing, I'm not worried about it. Just keep working on it. :)
-
you asked for other advice. sometimes it helps to think realistically so you're not feeling defeated if you don't lose 2.5lbs per week. just because you were able to lose that weight easily before doesn't mean that it will be the same this time around. it doesn't mean it won't be..but setting such high expectations can be…

this. are you eating enough? do you have a medical condition? i get this way when my blood glucose is low..but the symptoms could be a variety of things.

the sabotaging posts are usually pretty bad..that i agree with. how is someone sabotaging you because they're not also restricting foods? i make carb sides for my family at every meal and they have all kinds of snacks available that i can't eat. that in no way means they're trying to hinder my progress.

its part of the educate all moronic low carbers who are scared of peas program. ;)

inhibits productive life, interferes with relationships, causes problems at work, yes. which is why i severely limit my intake. people who have the money to support whatever addiction aren't really addicted because they can pay for it? really?
-
you just love the low carb threads, don't you? :) OP, i low carb for medical reasons. it works better for me because of said medical reason. eating at a deficit..no matter which way of eating you choose, will also work..barring medical reason.

i thought certain foods also triggered chemicals, such as dopamine, in the brain..that are linked to addiction. what about someone who can't eat carbs because of the effects? example, i eat carbs and feel awesome for 30 minutes until i produce too much insulin, my blood sugar drops and i feel like crap. eating carbs again…

i would say so. My macros are set at 5% carb 20% protein 75% fat and i eat accordingly. if i exercise, the numbers i am able to eat of each increase.
-
cico is an equation. everyone who is doing anything with weight and food is using cico..even those who do low carb... if you are trying to lose weight you are restricting something..calories.
-
yes, i would exercise on my birthday. my birthday happens to be a rest day this year. i will probably go cycling if the weather is nice..and then game of thrones premier.
-
agreed. 40lbs in 16 weeks is a lot. granted, if you're morbidly obese it might be attainable..but if all you have to lose is 40lbs (which it sounds like considering you're going to maintain after) it will probably be difficult, and not very healthy, to reach that goal. it could be frustrating if you don't lose at rate…
-
as others have said..CICO is simply calorie in calorie out. if your calorie in is greater than calorie out, you will gain no matter what you eat. i follow a low carb high fat diet (keto) for medical reasons. it works for me because maintaining normal insulin and blood glucose levels is important to me. without it, i would…

Nuts. 170+ calories for less than a handful.

I notice there are a lot less children out than there used to be. Theres one family in my neighborhood that allows their kids to play outside (or whose kids want to play outside). They ride bikes and scooters around the block without a parent. I'm guessing ages 7-10. I didn't even know there were many kids until I was home…

There's no need to avoid sugar unless you have a medical condition. It's not evil.
