Made a quinoa salad this morning to have for lunch. And I'm at the gym right now!

I posted a similar question a few days ago and got a lot of helpful ideas. PB2 is one of them, but one I'm going to definitely try next is buying the single-serve packets. I, too, am coming to terms with the fact I can't be trusted around an open jar. It's like Tim Ferriss said, it's crack, especially for women!

Absolutely right on how much it adds up. It is so calorie-dense! Choices indeed. Eyes on the prize.
-
Yeah I've thought of giving it up entirely, and gone weeks without buying it. But then I buckle. It is definitely a trigger food for me! Sort of like booze to an alcoholic. Weird.

When I said satisfying, I meant satiating. :)

Definitely love the idea of the single-serve packets. Instant portion control!

Right here! I'm on day 3 of no refined sugars for two weeks. Warm brownies in my face almost broke me today. ALMOST!

YES on non-breakfasty-foods for breakfast! I have eaten cold leftover bok choy...shamelessly out of the carton. YEAH I did!

How ripe is the banana when you make these? Freckled? Almost freckled? I've had trouble getting the consistency right, and I think this might have something to do with it.

I don't log black coffee, but sometimes I'll add a teaspoon of raw sugar, and I will log that. And every now and then, I'll get a caffe latte with soy milk, but holy cow--just checked the calories on these--glad it's not a daily indulgence!

For what it's worth, a friend of mine who was recently on Weight Watchers for the second time told me they now allow as much fruit as a person wants; it doesn't count toward your daily points. So it seems like they've come around to the fact that fruit is good, and as long as you're eating more of it and avoiding brownies…

I drink it for the health benefits, not for weight loss. I crave hot drinks a lot, and as these things go, green tea just packs a punch.

If you want a really thin crust and need a shortcut, grab some pizza dough at the grocery. I like sourdough. Roll it out till it's super thin. If you're feeling adventurous, press some chia seeds or flaxseeds into the crust. More fiber, more filling. And I've already seen lots of great advice here about a big veggie side…

Everything I've read recommends cardio only in a fasted state, and no more than about 45 mins at a time at that (give or take). I've tried strength training in a fasted state and I get fatigued much faster and I am sore as HELL the next day. I also think the 4-hour window for eating is much too short, if for nothing else…

True. :)

Excellent idea. I can think of two things I managed to do right this week: I ordered guacamole but asked for it WITHOUT chips Telling myself I'm going to take a couple and toss the rest rarely works. And when I was craving something chocolatey the other night, I made a chocolate-banana protein shake. I think you're…

Yup, kinda like a 12-step program--one day at a time, one week at a time. Thanks!
-
Yay! That's great!

Yes! I think this is the case for me. My goal weight is 5-10 pounds lighter. That last little bit takes the most dedication.

Lots of good advice above. But I'll just say not all fruits are created equal (i.e. berries and melons are better than bananas or grapes). Check the glycemic index. Also, you can get a lot of the same nutritional benefits from veggies, which come with far less sugar. So if you've got a pepper and an apple, you can get good…

It's great. Excellent way to get your cardio in while building strength. Smart way to work out. Definitely challenging, but that's what makes it fun. One note: don't skip the warm-up or stretches before or after. Much more likely to be hobbling around afterwards if you do. The first few times I did it, my knees and back…

Ha! I hear you there. You see me in the gym early, you'd best stay away!
-
Because I can't NOT exercise. It's an addiction. Feels good, love the challenge, and I know I'm doing myself good!

That's pretty funny! (and a sure sign of your transformation)
