Those two are my favorites too. I literally have to tell myself I'm lapping the people on the couch to get myself out the door and walk/jog. (Once I'm out there I'm fine; it's just the leaving the house that's so hard.)

Yes, this right here.

I really like chia seeds-- they get a neat tapioca / jelly texture around them when they soak up a bit of liquid. I could understand how that might be a turn off to some people but I really enjoy it. I add chia seeds to refrigerator oatmeal jars (recipe: http://tinyurl.com/7gl7uru ) and I stir them in to smoothies. I don't…

Thanks for that blog post. This struck me in particular: “Whenever you are presented with a choice, ask yourself which option you would prefer to have taken in ten years.” Excellent way to live! And you're so right-- it's only an hour! Eff 'em!

Thank you guys so much for your help! Seriously, so much good advice here (namely, "just get your head out of your a** and go"). Unfortunately I have to wait until next week to get into the gym (payday!!) so I'll be doing bodyweight stuff until then. Good form practice! Honestly, though, thank you all. I feel very…

Thank you all so much for the encouraging words and advice. I think I'm going to look into getting a trainer at least for one session, to make sure my form is ok before going solo. :)

Thank you for the tips! Edit: did not even consider the PT angle. I think I get a free session for joining this gym, so I should put it to use! I have done Zumba and I liked it well enough, but I really want to try weight lifting. Plus my school's gym (where Zumba classes are) is further from my house and I don't have a…

I'm not FROM IL but I currently live in IL-- the bustling metropolis of Urbana. :) Actually I really like it here.

OP, thank you so much for this post. I just finished eating my breakfast of fridge-oatmeal; I made it last night with milk, oats, chia seeds, greek yogurt, 1 tsp honey, 1 tb unsweetened cocoa powder, and 1/2 fresh banana. Super super tasty! And I'm not a big hot oatmeal fan, but I loved this. I especially love that it took…

Wow, amazing job! You look stellar. Also, we're pretty much doppelgangers (though I'm a bit older, we're both 5'6" and my starting weight is 207, now down to 201, with a goal of 140-150). So seeing your progress and your incredible success is really inspiring and motivating. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes…

Thank you so much for posting this-- I came to the boards to ask the same question! I'm not even a big meat eater (generally 2 of my 3 meals are meatless) and I've gone over in protein every day that I've tracked (while breaking even or just under in every other category). Craziness!
