Wow.....threads like this make me want to drink. My wife had GB and has issues now, 10 years later. Nutrition absorption is difficult for her which leads to hair loss and other health issues. Now I'm not sure how the surgeries have changed these days, but just be aware of the potential risks and weight all your options…

Then do it! Do it and take control of what you put in your mouth and what you do with your time. Some of these changes will be simple, others will be more drastic and harder.....but start small and ramp it up. You can do it.

Good luck Kathy. Exercise is no longer correlated with weight loss. Although they do go hand in hand mentally, you CAN lose weight with just your diet. MFP gives you the tools to do just that! Good luck :)

You're in a tough spot, but it's not hopeless. I too have packed on the pounds over the years and at 31 it's really hit me just how much I've gained. I quite smoking 6 years ago and eating took over as my crutch for stress, etc. I'm now changing that and being accountable for the stress in my life. If you need a friend that's been through it please feel free to add me :)

Welcome! I've tried my fair share of fad diets with no long term luck. I've lost 8lbs so far just tracking the stuff I shove in my mouth and spending less time in front of the computer. I wish you luck! :)
