  • I would say its very accurate. If you look up specs on it, its about 95% accurate which is phenominal when you think about how it works. It uses skin sensors and accelerometers to measure your body temperature, motion, heat flux and is able to tell when you are in a hard cardio zone (vigorous activity). I've lost 100lbs…
  • I love that I can play hockey again. I tore my ACL 5 years ago when I was playing goal and weighed 310lbs. I thought I would never play again and was told by my physical therapist I would be crazy if I tried to play again. This past August I started playing again at 239lbs and feel even better now playing at 221.
  • I've had mine since February when I really started tracking my food intake and love it. It's great for seeing what you're actually burning in your workouts. I would recommend buying from Amazon. Thats where I got mine, it was about $35 less than Bodymedia's site and the shipping was free, rather than the $15 Bodymedia…
  • 1500 calories seems kind of low to me on days where you are working out hard (running). I had the same issue I lost 80 pounds in 6 months from February to mid August and then stayed the same for about a month and a half after. I was lifting 2 times a week, cardio 2-3 times a week, and walking a couple of miles every day.…
  • Like others have said, I would suggest trying to lose weight naturally through changing your eating habits and working out. Its easy to think surgery would be so nice, get it done and thats it. I used to think that way too. I worked out while being heavy and just never got results. It wasn't until this past February that I…
  • I did Les Mills Body pump and lost 80lbs doing it about 2 times a week and 2-3 days of cardio and lots of walking. I like to call Body Pump aerobic lifting. It definitly gets your heart rate up, probably about into the low end of cardio and the top end of fat burning zone. I never used a heart rate monitor but I did use a…
  • I'll give you the two things that helped me out the most: 1. Get your eating habits under control. If you eat at a deficit you will lose weight. I struggled with this for years. Thinking "I can work out 5-7 days a week and burn what I ate off plus more to lose weight" It doesn't work. You have to literally kill yourself…
  • I have a Bodymedia FitLink w/Bluetooth and love it. I've been wearing for the last 8 months. It's a great way to accurately track your calories burned as well as sleep and steps. Its also a great motivator to make you want to beat your previous calorie burns. It also helps in that you can analyze your workouts by checking…
  • For reference for you I use a Bodymedia Fit Link for calorie burn tracking and I've been wearing it playing hockey the last two months. On average over an hour and a half of playing open hockey I burn about 1250 calories playing the full 90 minutes as a goalie. For that I'm at about 57 minutes of vigorous activity and 33…
  • I have a 24oz water bottle that I fill up twice before lunch, drink one full 24oz bottle at lunch, and then fill it up at least twice in the afternoon at work. I then drink a few 12oz cups at home in the evening. I drink more than that when I work out, which is about 5-6 times a week usually depending on my ice hockey…
  • I used to add it under cardio as strength training for 60 mins about 434 calories. I now use a BodyMedia Fit Link which gives me much more accuracy. When I started at about 319lbs it was over 480 calories, now at 239 I'm about at 380 calories a session. Keep going, its a great work out :) Just have to find the right weight…
  • Finally got serious 7 months ago. Summer has been probably the slowest for me, just a lot of weekend fun trips w/o monitoring my calorie intake and no working out :( Going to be picking it up again as it gets cooler out ;) SW:319 CW:239 GW:195
  • Don't buy it and leave it in the house. I was once like you, drank a 2 liter or so of diet a day. That helped the most and make sure you don't substitute it with sweetened drinks like juices or ice teas either. For caffeine I have my coffee in the morning with two truvia and fat free half and half. Every once in a while…
  • I typically use the dry sauna at my gym for 10-20 minutes after working out, it really depends on how I feel in it to how long I stay. I usually take in water with me to stay hydrated. I like it because it helps relax my muscles and I also feel better and more energized when I leave the sauna. Time to stay in it really is…
  • Age 28 HW: 328 LW: 179 (senior year of high school right after junior hockey season, 3-4 practices per week and 2 games) Current weight: 255 Goal weight: 220 is my short term happy goal I'd still like to go down some more from there ideally about 190
  • my office has over 800 people in it so there is something brought in by somebody I know almost everyday. Usually for work anniversary dates or birthdays, engagements, etc. Emails get sent out for them and I usually just say "thanks already had breakfast, etc." and Congrats! So far this year I've been good, only have had…
  • If they are really your friends they would be happy for you. I have a pretty good mix of friends one's that work out and are active and then others that eat whatever they want and don't. All of them have been supportive and have given me compliments about the weight I lost and how I'm looking better. If anybody is unhappy…
  • Congrats on the success! I made it half way to my goal about 100 days into my lifestyle change. Below was a pic I made up to get me motivated to go to the gym after work last Friday, right before I started and to where I am right now. • I used to add it to cardio under Strength training (weight lifting, weight training) for 60 minutes for ~430 calories. I've been using BodyMedia Fit Link for the past 4 months and have found that I'm closer to 500 calories when measuring actual calorie burn give or take 20-30 calories based on what release we are doing ;)
  • I have the Body Media Fit Link and love it! I've lost about 50lbs while using it. It's great because you can track your calorie burn, sleep efficiency, activity (moderate vs. vigorous time), steps (pedometer). What I love about it is you can find out what exercises really work for you. It also is advertised to be 95% or…
  • Congrats! I just lost my first 50 since February too! I have dropped about 4 pants sizes. But I will say not many people that I'm not close friends with have said much. I also still have dress shirts I wear for work that are at least 4 inches or more too big and just make me look heavier. I notice on a few shirts I have…
  • Know what your eating (calories wise) and know what your calorie burn is. I kinda got that this January and it thats when I started to click for me and started to lose lbs. Another thing would be get out of your own head when you work out. Push it to the limit and you can do it!
