I bought a Horizon Oxford II rower off eBay for £75. I rate it above the Concept 2's that I have used. Pivoting foot rests, heart rate monitor sensor, more comfortable seat etc. Have a look for one and see what they are going for. <EDITED> Here is one…

Show me a Royal Marine that has ever performed on this diet. During training they probably BURN 7-8000 calories a day. Thats why they are (from what I recall them telling me) given 4 meals, rather than the 3 meals that the British Army get.

I am recovering from torn ACL/LCL/Meniscus Cartilage and attaching muscle. I have been told that there will be a complete lack of strength in the ligaments, so therefore have to compensate by strengthening the surrounding muscle and tendons. Squats are probably the best exercise for overall muscle engagement. And some say that you will find it difficult to get a 6 pack without squats, as you need to tense them to stabilise your core, otherwise you will be a flop on the floor...

I started it just over 2 weeks ago. 6ft 1in tall, 110kg trying to get to 80kg. Im 31 yrs old, ex-British Army, and recovering from major knee surgery. I havent done any major exercise since I damaged my knee over 12 months ago, and I dived straight in to Insanity with a few of my mates of all shapes and sizes. Some are 45…

If you have already figured this out already by attending the Selection Centre, then my apologies. But the main thing you need to concentrate on is running, press ups, sit ups and heaves (pull ups with palms facing you). I would suggest circuit training and heavy lifting to complement your running. The closest thing I have…

Start basic, do bodyweight exercises. Push ups, sit ups, leg raises from back (works abs), plank position, reverse leg raises (from plank position for glutes) squats, lunges. You can also add in some weight that you will have around your house every day. Try bicep curls with a 2L bottle of water in each hand. Try shoulder…

Thanks guys (and girls). I do fully plan to start the weights again, as I know the benefits that it can have, both for strength, muscle mass and of course looks. I am naturally quite strong, I grew up playing rugby and doing lots of weights, and judo, and not to mention the training in my army career. Hopefully I will get…

Pita bread. Also try to get some "Harissa" (Ha-ree-sah) which is an arabic chilli sauce, it goes really well with it. Grind in some black pepper too, that makes a difference if you get bored.
