Hey there! I'm 5'11" and currently 176 but trying to lose around 20 more pounds (or wear a size 8 comfortably.) Also trying to focus on lifting, so hopefully will see results! Go tall gals!
-
Hey there! Great job on the weight you've lost already! Thats a huge accomplishment! I'm 5'11" and love having other tall ladies as friends on here, because, you're right, it is a different ball game for us. Feel free to add me!

5'11" and my starting weight was around 200. Right now I weigh 170, and I'd ultimately love to get down to 155, but i'm mostly trying to focus on body recomposition and lowering my body fat %. When it all comes down, I dont care about a number on the scale that no one but me will see, I'd rather look good in my clothes and…

Yay for Sept 21!!! We can do this!

Getting married Sept 21!!! Determined to lose 15 pounds before then. I'm 5'11" and currently 174, but WILL get down to 160 for my wedding! 5 months will go by so quick!

You are awesome! What a gorgeous transformation. AND I had to look twice because we look alike! I'm also almost 6 feet tall!
-
I'm 5'11" and from the US... I have lots of tall gals as friends on this site, because we have to stick together! There is also a group out of all tall women!
-
Bumping this so I can find it again! Some great info here! Yay for heavy lifting!
-
The only way to do it is to JUST DO IT! Do any kind of exercise whether you want to or not, and chances are you're not going to want to waste your efforts by eating a doughnut, etc. Start that snowball effect going in the right direction.
-
maybe a few, but if you're thinking about how many calories your burning while you're in the middle of making out, than I would imagine it's not very many... :smooched:
-
This is the great thing about exercising! Each time you get out there you will be in better shape than the last time. Take it slow, and enjoy that you can walk for an extra quarter mile or lift another 5 pounds, until soon you're not just feeling the changes but seeing them. :flowerforyou:

I believe this kind of judgement is why people are intimidated by gyms. At least that person is there, doing their thing, trying to improve their life. If it really is disrupting your workout, move.

5'11" with a goal set at 150 or 20% bf. Ultimately I'd like both!
-
This is a truly amazing post. Thank you!
-
Well, it's the weekend, so if you have extra time for indulging, then you have extra time for exercising too!
-
Started at around 210, and it definitely took around 30 pounds before people started to notice. Honestly though, I don't care if people notice that I've lost weight as long as they just think I'm lookin GOOOOOD!!!
-
Love this! That little voice and I duke it out all the time!

It depends on the distance you are going to be running. If you're just starting and running just a mile or two at a time, regular sneakers should be fine. Once you build up to a longer distance though, you're body needs better support to prevent injury. I wouldn't wait though! Get out there and start!

I Heart Muscles!!!! You look awesome!!!
-
Tired and crabby! Nothing clears my mind and energizes me like a good run.
-
Great job! Every time you get out there to run you'll improve! It's not only good for the body but for the soul! Keep at it!

I'd just like to point out that this model Kate Upton is on the cover of the current issue of GQ and was in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. Enough said.
-
I agree with all the above smart and lovely ladies. more calories = more energy = more exercise, and your body feels confident enough to let those extra pounds go. Also, (although some disagree with this) I believe that WHAT you eat matters almost equally to how MUCH you eat. Technically the way MFP is set up you can eat a…

My best advise would be to make the transition at your own pace. It can be overwhelming to charge full force into becoming Vegan. Maybe go vegetarian first and continue from there. Great sources of protein would be Tofu, Tempeh, edamame, Greek yogurt(not Vegan obviously) There are more and more options out there for…
-
Oh and quinoa and Greek yogurt!!!
-
Tempeh is great in stir fry or sandwiches. Also there are vegan Soy or whey protein powders that can add some cals.

You can literally put almost anything in tin foil and cook it over a campfire! I would suggest: Corn on the cob Onions, squash/zucchini Sweet potatos Salmon fillets Also if you bring a cast iron skillet you can have eggs, or beans and rice, etc! Have fun!

Hello there! I'm 5'11" and my highest weight was around 205-210. I always assumed I had a large frame, but after I started losing weight I discovered it's actually medium! Currently I'm hovering around 165, but my ultimate goal has always been 150. Honestly though, if I can rock a toned body and be proud to strip down at…
