This! Plus... "When you eat large meals with many hours in between, your metabolism slows down between meals. Having a small meal or snack every 3 to 4 hours keeps your metabolism cranking, so you burn more calories over the course of a day." - WebMD There are studies proving this and studies debunking this. So just use…

I quit in June. My stamina has improved 100%. I used to have to hit an inhaler during/after cardio exercises, but not anymore. I've also taken up running, when that was a pipe dream in the past.

I agree. Except I prefer the creamy. It's a pain in the butt to stir up the oil the first go around, but this is by far my favorite peanut butter... especially with a nice crisp apple... mmmmmm

Remove the word "patties" and replace with "breast". Cook your own chicken. You can use all kinds of spices, garlic, even some hot sauce to tickle your taste buds. Look for natural peanut butter, regular Jiffy type brands are loaded with sugar. I'll snack on an apple and peanut butter, one of my faves. And if you sub the…

This is very good advise. And a note from me. Try not relying so much on fast-food, even though you are making healthier choices at these places, which I applaud you for. But, when you make your own meals you have full control over what exactly you are eating. It's very simple to grill up some chicken and prep your lunches…

I've had my eye on these!!! They've helped a lot with your knee pain? I love my Brooks and they helped so much with my ankle pain, but now I'm experiencing knee pain. It's just from over stress, but if I can help decrease it I will any way possible! I could alternate shoes.

I've always had to put inserts in my shoes because I couldn't find that "perfect shoe" either. But I've found a couple that really work for me without any insert. I have a pair of Nike Livestrongs that I wear for my general gym time and riding my bike, very comfortable overall shoe. But when it comes to running, I have a…

Your fitbit will "reset" at midnight. When you wake up in the morning it'll already say you've burned calories, don't freak out, you burn calories while you sleep. You burn calories just being alive and your fitbit counts those. Then throughout the day, it'll continue adding calories burned depending on your activity.…

Sure thing! It's tougher than it sounds too!

A good one I was told a long time ago, sit up straight with your back off your chair, lift your knees up (feet off the floor) so the backs of your knees/thighs are off the seat. Hold with your core, do not bend your back. Do it without holding on to your desk for more intensity.

This is a VERY good point! You have to be aware of that dress!! I remember when I got married (since divorced) the seamstress told me to stop losing weight because my dress wasn't going to fit me the day of! So, I think this is some good advise, eat healthy, get your water, get your sleep, be conscious of your workouts but…

I get a lot of useful information from this website. I found this specific program recently and figured it be great to shred some fat before an event. Figured I'd save the info for next year when I do the competition. I've heard a lot of great things about P90X, I have a friend that swears by it and she looks great! I…

This is very strict but it'll help shred some fat, although I don't see any you need to lose! You are already going to be a BEAUTIFUL bride! http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/gluhareff2.htm

That's gross, but I was referring to the other post above my "^^^" For some reason it didn't quote it right when I replied.

[/quote] OMG is that real? That poor chicken... Arrrgh. I actually baked a whole chicken this week... I can't imagine those poor chickens being shoved into those cans. I guess their putting lube on them first. If I had to, I would eat that chicken. I guess I would. I don't know, looking at that picture makes me consider…

4 lbs in a month is healthy. The people losing significant amounts of weight in their first month are typically those who have much more than 30 lbs total to lose. I've lost 8 lbs in 4 months, should I quit too? Remember, it's not all about the scale either. This is a choice for a healthier life, not only a smaller number…

Geezus Andrea!!! You are getting such a tiny waste!!! You are awesome!

I bring my doggie to work with me EVERY DAY!!!

I too workout early in the morning. 99% of the time I do not eat before my morning workout, however, my morning workouts usually consist of mostly cardio. I prefer to do my cardio and/or HIIT training on an empty stomach, but that is me. Although I do lift in the mornings, I feel I get a better strength training session in…

^^^ word.

Weight lifting also burns fat and continues to burn long after you leave the gym. So you don't have to start with cardio to shed fat before starting your lifting regimen. Do both :) Also, you don't need to isolate your abs to get a strong core and slimmer waste line. Doing compound exercises with correct form will help…

I can't tell you what will work for you, I'll just tell you what I'm going through. I too was having a hard time putting down that last cigarette. I'd been "quitting" for a while too. But really you just have to make the commitment and STICK TO IT. I had a nearly full pack of cigs that one morning I just crumbled up and…

"Doesn't look like much" my *kitten*! That is an amazing change! Congratulations!

I agree completely!!! When I look at it and my numbers are down I feel like a little drill sergeant pops out and says "MOVE IT! MOVE IT! MOVE IT!!!"

I have the fitbit and love it, but is the scale reallllly worth the $130??
-
I'm currently doing 40/40/20 and 1300 cal/day, in accordance with a plan I am following from bodybuilding.com. I know a few others that follow this ration also. Check out Bodybuilding.com, it's a great site.

You crack me up girl!

This seriously made me tear up. I'm so happy for you that you've made such a courageous step and didn't give up. Keep fighting, it only gets easier!
