  • Boiled eggs Meat, cheese and crackers Peanut butter and crackers Cold vegetable salad. This one is really good and keeps really well for a few days: http://www.pipandebby.com/pip-ebby/2011/5/23/edamame-summer-salad.html. You could add some black beans, chicken, ham or bacon for additional flavor. For a sweet addition,…

  • First time to post in the June challenge, but I have been doing the challenge. The May challenge was really good for me. It is almost becoming habit now to not eat after 9, but I want to give it another month before I make my cut-off time earlier. No snacking after 9 p.m. 26/30 nights. 7/26 Can snack after 9 p.m.…
  • I'm going to give this a try! I need the challenge.
  • It is discouraging when the scale isn't showing a decrease, but don't give up! Everyone's weight loss journey is different. For me, it seems like if I eat really bad one week, it takes a week or two to show the weight increase, then a week or two to show a decrease again. Also, when I start to exercise more, it take a…

The other "fail" I only had fruit, so didn't feel quite as bad about it.
  • SW: 156.6 (as of 5/8) GW: 136 Sunday weigh-ins 5/15:155.8 5/22: 156.4 My weight had fluctuated between 155 and 154 during the week so I was really hoping for a nice loss instead of a gain. :frowning: Oh, well, it is a new week!

Despite that, I am still really glad for this challenge. I know I would have ate more of my calories each night if it wasn't for this…

  • Not sure how high of protein you are wanting.. I usually eat oatmeal with a dash of cinnamon and choice of fruit for breakfast. Snacks are "quick to grab" items like hard-boiled eggs, trail mix or granola bar Lunch may be another "snack" option or something simple like a peanut butter and pickle sandwich, peanut butter and…
  • I hope today is a better day for you as recover. When I had my gallbladder out (laparoscopic), almost immediately I felt so much better than I had prior to the surgery, but it took probably about 5-6 days to feel "normal". On the second and third day, I would move around for a bit then rest for awhile...sort of built up…

  • Roasted vegetables are suggested a lot but they are worth another mention! About any vegetable can be tossed with olive oil and choice for seasonings and roasted. Some of the vegetables I have tried are carrots, broccoli, brussels sprouts, asparagus, potato and sweet potato. Can Google the exact time and oven temp for…

  • I know I'm late joining this challenge Losing 20 pounds by July 4th is close to impossible for my usual weight loss pattern, but I need a hard challenge to get me re-motivated to lose the 20 pounds I already lost once. I'm aiming for the July 4th goal of 20 pounds...if I lose 10, I will be thrilled, but am…
  • I'm a newbie to this challenge. I hope it is ok that I am starting late? I've been wanting to do this and doing it as challenge would be so much better than on my own. May goals as of May 11 No snacking after 9 p.m. 18/21 nights. Can snack after 9 p.m. 3/21 nights.
  • The Chicken & Mushroom Risotto sounds delicious! The cookbook that was a lifesaver when I first started counting calories was the Taste of Home Comfort Food Diet Cookbook: New Family Classics Collection (second volume in the Comfort Food Diet series). After 4 years there are still some recipes I turn to from time to time.…

  • Oh! Also, when you are on the run and need a quick granola bar...Kind bars are gluten free and certain ones are dairy free as well. My current dairy/gluten free Kind bar favorite is the popped salted caramel.
