  • I have to admit that most of my clothes since I have started to lose weight have come from Good Will or Salvation Army. So far I have gone from 48" pants to 34-36". And from XXXLarge to Large and Medium. I am down 42# and still have another 25 that I would love to drop. Like Hyperbum I don't want to spend too much while I…

  • I weigh myself daily knowing that the weight will fluctuate. I also make sure to weight in at the same time. BUT I do not change my weight here until I hit the same weight or lower for three straight days. i think this keeps me from hitting a lower day one week and a higher day the next and think I am falling back. My…
  • 5'8" Lowest was 145 in HS as a wrestler. That won't happen again. Spent 20's going from 165 to 185. So I would say lowest ADULT weight 165. Highest 241. Current 185 (welcome back to the 20's) that was nearly 35 years ago. Was 222 in March this year. Still need to lose 18 to reach NORMAL BMI back at 167. Age 54 BTW.
  • cd, I have been told by many people that I am a very good cook and a very good teacher as well, but Detroit you are not quite in my evening driving distance. I have seen many good ideas out there but one thing I do is to cook up a large batch of whole grains, legumes, etc at a time. I then allow then to lay out on a sheet…
  • Great idea IdeaBaker, I too do that all the time. But a peeler does a good job if your knife skills suffer and it is much cheaper (and safer then a mandolin.) I add mine to boiling water for 2-3 minutes MAX to cook through. I also make a very good low fat zucchini slaw that will have you not missing the cabbage.
  • I took before pictures (without my sports bra) but fear I may have lost them. They were on my old phone and I THOUGHT I saved them somewhere. I was looking for them the other day and have not found them in the places I expected to find them. I will keep looking. they were not at my heaviest but were pretty close. That was…
  • Hard to say week in, week out. Cooking for one I tend to buy one or two meat items per week and break them into 3-4 oz portions and freeze them individually. Until the garden starts producing I focus on the fruits and vegetables that are fresh and cheap. I eat about anything. Right now I have egg plant, asparagus, green…
  • Anything at the theaters!!!
  • My sons all wrestle so we eat a lot of higher protein/low fat meals. One of our favs is Swai with lemon caper sauce and quinoa pilaf. Swai is a very mild white fish that currently is very cheap (bought 2.5 pounds frozen for $6.99 last month.) Swai with lemon caper sauce 4 oz Swai fillet Morton Nature's Seasons 25% Less…
  • Last year I bought a bag of Skittles Valentines and put all 24 of them around the house, her car, and even got some to one of her coworkers who put them around her work through the day. Each had a different pet name for the FROM and the TO that we have used for each other over the past 36 years (dated 3, married almost 33…

  • GACK!!! At first I thought that said TABASCO FREE lifestyle. I would have to change jobs!!!
  • Ours does not do so directly (except the smoking thing.) They do provide a "discount" if you and your spouse if both on the plan fill out a health assessment. They also provide "tools" to work on your health from free health screenings, to health coaches, to "fitness" programs where you can earn points. Earn enough points…
  • I've been married 33 years as of last week. Slept sans clothes that very first night and every night since. Maybe that is why we have six kids!
  • I have a pedometer that I use through the day. It is a bit over the basic model in that it allows me to input my weight and stride. I live 4 miles from work and have walked that in the past in 60 minutes, it is pretty accurate. I frequently walk in the buildings where I work. There are two building with a sky bridge…
  • Speaking of crabs!!!
  • Well I guess it is time for my first post. I think it comes down to comfort, not settling but truly feeling at ease and able to be vulnerable. If you can make a person feel comfortable with you they will be open to becoming closer (i.e., friendship or more.) My wife and I will celebrate our 33rd anniversary in less than 2…
