Basically I want to eat back some of the exercise calories to see if it helps me actually lose weight. I read a few threads lately about that and I feel like I am probably running too low on my NET calories on some days. I could make up calories by eating fast food burgers or something like that, but I am wondering how…

The challenge was issued well over 3 weeks ago... any updates to that? Thanks Dan, awesome to see another Newfie on here!

I'm concerned about this too mostly because I'm pretty sure the calories of the food I enter are correct but how do I really know if the calories burned calculation MFP gives me are correct? If MFP tells me I burned 1000 calories and then I eat those, what if they were wrong and I've only burned 400-500? Then I'm gone way…

Pretty sure salsa has basically no calories. The tub I just bought from costco (jack's fresh garden or something like that) is 10 cals a tbsp. At that rate you could eat 1.25 cups for about 100 cals.

That is truly awesome. I am really happy for you and hope to have a moment like that myself someday when I can pull on a pair of size 38 jeans from my closet. Keep going, you are doing amazing work. Thanks for sharing this with us. -rick

So here goes. I started the program last Tuesday. I did today's workout last night on my rest day because I have something to do tonight and I won't be home until late. So I guess that puts me at day 11. While I've been doing this I've also attended 5 of my circuit training fitness classes at the gym and had 1 ice hockey…

mention in passing that you noticed the machine settings were different and be excited about it. maybe ask if you can use the bowflex too. maybe if you don't say anything he'll think you don't care or notice...

Your post made me think of something I may do myself. I know it would make me feel good. Donate a pound of food for each pound you lost to a local foodbank. It's better to give than to receive right? Plus it would be somewhat symbolic of getting rid of that weight by giving it away...

It is really tough. So many people who lose weight have already done it before and are back for round 2,.3.4. That is why so many times you will hear people say its a lifestyle thing. I wish I had a good answer. I hope to God someone here does cuz I could use it myself. Right now I am just trying to put one foot in front…

Is he the kinda guy who is competitive and if you make it a competition between you and him he will try harder? Is he the kinda guy who would step up if there was a reward hanging in the balance? Is he self conscious enough that if you showed him a pic of himself when he was more active vs today would he be motivated to…

The reason we are all signed up for this site is that at some point we gave up. We all understand how you feel and I'm sure we've ALL been there at one point (many times for lots of us). Think about why you started this and what your motivations are and ask yourself if those things don't matter today as much as they did 2…

This is the thread I was talking about: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/240655-1-year-on-mfp-3-rounds-of-p90x-and-83lbs-lost-pics?hl=3+rounds+p90x But to add to it. My wife and I started P90 last week and we are enjoying the workout and finding it challenging. We are more so in the beginner stages though.

A lot of people on here seem to have had great success with this program. From what I've been able to dig up this is more the beginner level. People have lost inches and toned up some but if you are already in good shape from all the cardio and weights at the gym then you may want to look at the next level - p90x or…

Banks, first off... congrats on the win last night. I told ppl from the start that the Bruins would take this series and everyone wrote em off. Secondly... I've read it over and over in thread after thread but I need to be hit over the head with a hammer I guess. I'm a big guy, MFP already gives me just over 2000 cals a…

I use either aerobics general or circuit training, both calories calculate around the same for me give or take a bit. i'm not TOO concerned with being 100% accurate because I don't always eat all my exercise calories...but I guess that's up to you. I did read that some people are using heart rate monitors to get exact…

I was posting in the thread "Looking for other P90 Support pt 2" but it is locked now. I started the power 90 last Tuesday with my wife. We are both liking it so far. The one question I have is, what are people doing if they miss a workout? Do you double up the next day? Use your rest day? Add it on the end? etc.

WOW, I am shocked by the amount of heavy rock / metal I see on the playlists. I figured I would be one of the only ones in here cranking some loud music. I haven't updated my shuffle in a bit but what's on there now is: All That Remains - The Fall of Ideals Rise Against - Siren Songs ... Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers The…

These fluctuations are normal and are most likely just water or any food that may be in your system still. There is a constant in/out on a daily basis. I resisted the urge to check the scale this morning. I'm trying to stick to my once a week weigh in on Friday mornings.

I ended up with just over 4200. I missed my Sat/Sun workouts which woulda got me to 5000.

I'm late to the party but I'm in: Weekly goal 5000 cals Mon: 866 (45 mins circuit training) Tues: 481 (25 mins circuit training) Wed: 1058 (55 mins circuit training) 577 (ice hockey) Thurs: Fri: Sat: Sun: Total so far: 2982 Left to go: 2018

I found in the past (before I gained it back) that a sure trigger to get these sort of comments is to wear something new that fits better. If you continue to wear your old clothes then you look pretty much the same to the untrained eye, just your clothes are a bit baggy. But if you wear something that fits better people…

Just to add to the few 'reviews' of this recipe... I made this a few days ago for my mom and son and wife. Everyone really liked it. I boiled 1 head of cauliflower and then used about 1 cup of the boiled water to help get the consistency. I added about a tsp of garlic powder and 2/3 cup (240 cals based on the pkg) of fresh…

Wondering if maybe anyone tried making this and how they went about it? Did you bake the cauliflower or boil it? What about using chicken/vegetable broth instead of water?

Coffee/Ice/Fat free coffee flavoring cream like the International Delights I think they are called. Add some splenda or whatever you like if you need it sweeter. It'll work. Any coffee drink you can buy some place you can make at home and its rarely as hard as it may seem.
-
nelsaphine - good for you for starting the program. Just take it a day at a time and you will do great.
-
I just started this last night also. Having been away from the gym for way too long it gave me a good workout. Looking forward to tonight!

Sometimes what happens when you crave something is that you try to fill that gap with something and it doesn't work, and you try something else, and something else, etc etc. In the end you end up eating more of various other things than you would have if you just ate what you wanted in the first place. Like some of the ppl…
