  • Incredible! Just out of curiosity, what *was* your diet like specifically?
  • Sprint training as HIIT? Are you planning on doing it on the treadmill or outside?
  • I doubt that was from not stretching BEFORE his workout. And the article isn't saying don't stretch EVER, it's saying don't stretch before. So let's say you're going to do a 5K (or marathon), do something for 5 minutes as a warmup (slow job, jumping jacks -- whatevs), THEN stretch, THEN do your workout.
  • Soy milk -- an extra 6g to a protein shake if you want to mix with it instead of water.
  • This is a little off topic but I ordered NROL for my husband (I also got Insanity for him too, hope he doesn't get some kind of complex). Of couse he's SO AMAZING AT ANYTHING athletic (<---sarcasm font in play here) so he scoffed at the idea of a lifting program but I think if he cracks it open, he'll like having the plan.…
  • Um...no to the tonic. It adds a good 60 calories (not to mention add'l carbs if you care about that) to your already 70 calorie shot of vodka or gin. Either liquor on the rocks, with water, or a diet soda (most bars only have diet coke which I hate) OR cut your losses and go for a light beer (Coors Light is 102 calories).
  • I can't even fathom running a marathon. Good luck lady!
  • Oh, I think it's fairly normal. When people have a lot of time on their hands at work (when they can't actually walk away from their computer and do something), well, you know what they say about idle hands. I'm sure she was just curious. If her name was at the top of the list, THEN I'd be concerned!
  • I think you'll be okay. Since I haven't been able to work out since LAST Tuesday, I think I'm going to have to go to a similar plan to be where I want to be in 8 weeks (remember, I am up THIRTEEN lbs from when I joined -- when I wanted to lose weight so I'm feeling way fluffy). My plan will be to eat around 1200 calories…
  • My husband has had 7 knee surgeries (poor guy) and just finished up Insanity which is all body weight and a lot of the same moves as the BWM. He said that he can see how so many people injure themselves. First of all, when you're exhausted (who isn't during the BWM), it's harder to make sure to make the movements soft…
  • What's the plan you're moving onto next (sorry if I've miss this somewhere else! )?
  • Back from the doctor. Walked out. Waiting over an hour in the exam room makes me so irate I probably burn more calories than working out just from the heart rate. I do know that I've gained ANOTHER 7 lbs (so that is a whopping 16lbs since joining in March). I do think this 7lbs has to do with whatever is going on though --…
  • So...I"ve been out of the gym since last Tuesday with what was supposed to be a UTI but the dr called yesterday and said it wasn't. Still not better but I go back to see her (4th straight week -- what a freak!) in an hour. My lower abdomin is still swollen and sore and I've got a sharp pain which at first I thought was gas…
  • This is a pretty common issue. I think most people do a goblet squat (youtube it -- how did people learn to do anything before youtube?) over a smith squat. I've done mucho squats on a smith machine and you're not getting near the benefit since you don't have to balance.
  • 4 sets is definately rough!
  • Me thinks the bikini should be normal around-any-water wear for you.
  • I blame the cookie I ate today on you...besides that, now we're good!
  • Add in a couple of HIIT cardio sessions a week and you should be good to go. I WISH I would've done this the entire time!
  • Change your profile picture crazy! :P So, I started on my anitbiotics yesterday morning. I'm feeling better, just not 100%. I'm on the fence about my workout today (I workout on my lunch break). I brought my gym bag but I'll reaccess in a few hours. I REALLY don't want to skip it!
  • So, how does an omicron work?
  • You just have to suck it up. I work with about 7 people also and our company buys whatever snacks we want and lets us have at them in the kitchen. Chips, cookies, M&Ms (ugh), etc. When it someone's bday, amazing cake balls. So hard! You just have to suck it up and say no. Plus, you have to make sure and have snacks that…
  • Delta Goodrem. I'm american so also known as a Jonas brother gf. Faith Hill.
  • Super proud of ya!
  • Awesome Kit! Melissa, I didn't add any add'l ab exercises. What part of Stage 1 are you in (still just 2 sets or are you to 3 yet)? When I got to 3 sets, I felt pretty spent and that I was getting the job done. Change of subject - again, I've "liked" Alwyn Cosgrove's page on FB and he does these "coaching" sessions where…
  • Ewwww! Love that second link. I've done all mine like the first link but will totally try the 2nd link on my last 2 remaining Stage 5a workouts. How do people survive without this group?!
  • Are you going online? You college should have a gym that you pay for with fees.
  • Plus, the rise in obesity has been a big topic here. There has ALWAYS been medical issues so that doesn't explain away the rise in obesity.
  • Wow, that is some serious weight!
  • My stepson (9) has been on steriods (among other medication for allergies) since he was 3 for asthma (multiple hospital visits as well). Maybe we're lucky but I've never known him to have an increased appetite. He's actually super thin but when he hits a growth spurt, he'll of course eat more. Sometimes my husband will say…
  • Me. This.
