My back is pretty messed up. I have a terrible SI Joint that, with the slightest wrong movement, will leave me in agony. I do mostly machines for my legs, with some lunges/squats using weights. Are machines ineffective? Hell no. I'd let you feel my quads, hamstrings, and calves if you were sitting next to me. The…

Why is your friend not in contact with the bulldozer operator's insurance company? The bulldozer operator is responsible for her displacement; therefore, he (his insurance) is responsible for this sort of thing. Also, does your friend not have home owners insurance? When my house caught fire last month, my insurance…

Mine was in February of this year. Went to the doc for my yearly vagina check up, and I got on the scale. I was ONE OUNCE away from my "number." That's the number I have in my head that I refuse to let myself get above. I joined the gym the next day, got back on MFP, and started exercising and eating healthier. I've had…

I go to a chiropractor once a week. He adjusts me pretty much all over. This week I told him mine was acting up, and he actually used that little gun looking thing and "adjusted" my foot. It felt a lot better. Mine really acts up when I wear flip flops/sandals or go bare foot all the time. Tennis shoes with good support or…

For the people saying they "never fart" in front of their SO/spouse, I hate to break it to you, but when you sleep, you fart. And chances are, your spouse has heard it. I know I have. My husband has told me so. God forbid you have a natural, human, bodily function. If you can't laugh about the sillier things that make us…

When I go onto the Chit-Chat board, I'm all like: I find it entertaining and nothing more. I certainly don't use that board for motivation. I'm more of a "skulker" on that board. I do read the fitness and nutrition, and motivation and support boards with interest and the hopes of learning. And the Recipe board is a life…

My husband doesn't exercise either, but he loves to spend time with me when he's not working, so on the weekends, I make sure that includes hiking or biking. He's not opposed to exercise, he just can't seem to get motivated to do it daily. I figure at least 2 days a week isn't bad. As for the food, I do all the grocery…

Why I don't eat fast food:

I keep good, dark chocolate in the house for these occasions, and I don't feel bad when I eat it. I am like you; I really crave the sweets. I never keep that stuff in the house, but it doesn't stop me from wanting it. I also never, EVER weigh myself the week before and the week during. Only after my time do I get on the…

Thanks! I'm going to check out that book! :-)

Yep. That's what I thought. Made sense to me. :drinker:

Okay, I'm glad you posted this because I spoke with a trainer at my gym today, and of course, he wants me to sign up for 2 sessions at $124. I don't have that to get this information. Here is what I'm doing right now: 30 minutes of cardio (elliptical, bike, etc) and really getting my heart rate up. Then I do 30 minutes of…

I actually took this as HER pointing to her OWN ticker, not anyone else's. As in, "Right, looks at own ticker and sees success in losing weight by cutting carbs." But that's just me. I have decided to cut my carbs to no more than 100 grams a day and making sure the ones I do get are GOOD. So far, it's working okay. Can't…

Yeah, she can go too...

"CARL! GET IN THE HOUSE!!!" "WHERE'S CARL?" Please, for the love of God, let a zombie eat that kid. ;-)

I'm a lot older than you (39) but I still get really bad acne if I don't do this: Wash with Biore Acne Ice Cleanser face wash Clean and Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub Use Persa Gel (it stains your clothes, so use it only on your face) daily Finish off with Olay Total Effects with sunscreen Moisturizer If I switch…

Just got back from a 6 day vacation to the Oregon Coast. I exercised 4 of those six days, and I still put on 4 pounds. I ate and drank waaaay too much. But I knew I would, and I made a commitment to get RIGHT back on track when I got home, and I'm already down 2. I'm guessing about 2 pounds was water weight, and two were…

I drizzle mine with 1 tbsp of olive oil and then season them with Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning (toss them together in a bowel to coat). Toss them on a baking sheet and cook them for about 7-10 min on 350. I also do this with brussel sprouts (cut them in half first) and asparagus. Yum.

Fantastic! I would tell my body: Thank you for keeping up with The Brain when it sets the goals, which may see impossible, and for not giving in. Thank you for pushing that last rep during a heavy lifting. Thank you for the definition you are showing in the arm and leg area. Thank you for working through the back pain, but…

This is FANTASTIC. HA HA HA HA! I'm crying now.

I unfriend them. We obviously don't have the same goals, and I can't support someone who is trying to do this in an unhealthy way.

Make this face:

Summers are the most difficult for me - I stay at home with my two girls, and there's snacks galore. During the school year, I find it's easier to stay on track and plan. Plus the stress and business makes it a bit more difficult to eat!

I'm a sub too. Yep, we're hard core! :-)

My husband and I do the exact same thing. Go to this great drinking hole and drink a pitcher or two of GOOD, dark brew about once a week. My calorie goal is low as well. I make sure I get in a good work out that day, eat a light lunch, and then don't worry about the rest. I go over every time, but I refuse to stop…

Do it. DO IT! I dig it.
