I tend to have rather low blood pressure and in hot and humid Florida if I haven't had any fluids in a 8 mile run I am pretty lightheaded when running and even more so when I stop. So I have been drinking if running for more than an hour to avoid that. I don't always carry fluids- sometimes I run loops and drink at the…

pretty close: some estimates have 0.62 * weight in lbs * miles run. 2/3 is 0.66 so only off by a few calories from this formula. All depends on how fast you run-- You are pretty small so if you eat a 300 calorie cookie you are running 5 miles or so.

Today. But read this first: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1217573-so-you-want-to-start-running?

Looks like both to me. There are some stretch marks too, but luckily you are quite young. I think if you continue to maintain your weight the skin will slowly shrink. Heavy weight lifting will tighten things up too. Just don't regain the weight. Unfortunately when you have kids this may pop up again.

My running shorts/tights have a very small zippered pocket that I can put my keys into. I am not sure the gentlemen have a similar design in their running clothing.

Nope. No jump rope, no burpees, no trampolines. Nothing involving jumping. Running is hard enough.

If you wear black running tights you can always claim sweat. It works.

You caught onto the problem with starting "running". The running is really a jog, especially for people who start without any conditioning under their belt. If you are running full out during the run phase of the walk-run, you are working too hard. During the walk, try jogging as slow as possible, hopefully slow enough…

Every 2 or so miles as a matter of fact. Thank god I don't drink anything for about 4 hours before running or it would be more frequently.

Yes.

You have a different perspective as an athlete in his 20's who continued to perform, but then noted a decline in performance in his 40's. When you were never an athlete, never ran, yet began in your 40's there is indeed room to improve performance. When you go from nothing to something, you can improve. When you go from a…

Runtastic because I got the pro version for free when it was offered and because it gave me the lowest calorie burn out of all the apps. I just got a Garmin today and the calorie burn for a 3.4 mile run was 100 calories LOWER than Runtastic. Eek!

Make friends with Dave and Carson. Read and heed what they post.

As many as you want. Just depends on if you really want to lose weight or not gain.

Eat.

Watch movies. Makes the time go by so much faster!

Get up a few extra hours early so you can have coffee and take care of "intestinal issues" before you leave the house. Then make sure you pee before the race. Get to the race early (I had to run the the start line once because my gps took me to all the roads that were CLOSED for the race and then I couldn't find parking).…

Depends upon your insurance. If you have an HMO you need to see your primary doc, if you have a PPO or if you have Fee for Service, bypass the primary and head to the Orthopedic Surgeon. Xrays are not helpful for non-bony injuries, you nearly always need an MRI, unless the history and examination are classic for a…

I am 46 and today I was 126 lbs. My goal is a bit lower than this for appearance and for running. For appearance I would like around 118 because I THINK the belly will be not sagging at that weight (but I don't know because I haven't gotten there yet) but for running I would like to be about 110. Carrying around extra…

I have run a half marathon fasted--from what I have read you should be fine for fasted long runs until they get to the 18 mile plus distance. Our livers store lots of glycogen and our muscles carry some as well. How long are your morning fasted runs? I also can't eat then run. I have to have at least 3-4 hours after eating…

You aren't ready. When you are ready you will make all those changes you don't feel like doing yet..

Wow, what a first marathon. Congratulations!!! Wonderful job.:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

You know, this doesn't always work. My husband insists that he wants a wolf.
